The production was probably too big for you to picture the layout. There were two main stages - east and west. Su-metal and the thrones were on the west stage, Moametal started out on the east stage where the Kami Band (two lead guitarists, Takayoshi Ohmura and ISAO, bassist BOH and drummer Hideki Aoyama were positioned and playing throughout the concert.
Joining the two stages and cutting right through the centre of the arena, so the audience were on both sides, was that long walkway and on the walkway a third stage which also moved from east to west and raised up and down as well. The girls spent the majority of the concert on that stage as they like to get as close to as many of the audience as they possibly can while they are performing.
This was the official video, so the focus was on the girls and the performance, I imagine we will see more of the Kami Band when they release the live DVD (but the main focus will remain on the girls - they are BABYMETAL, the Kami Band support them - brilliantly and they are equally loved by the fans, but the girls are the main act) ... also, this being the official video and it being released within just a few days of the concerts where it was filmed, the audio is from the studio recording - again we wait for the DVD to get the live audio.
'Metal Kingdom' is the opening track from their 4th album which will be released on 24th March. It is pretty much a motivational anthem being the intro to what will be some sort of concept album. Of course they also used it for the huge, theatrical opening number for the concerts they played just three or four weeks ago (their first in nearly 2 years) and this was filmed at those.
I speak absolutely no Japanese either, but I got the basic feeling for what the song was about just from the vocals and from the performance (and the English lines which included "Raise your hands to the Lord, Raise your voice to the world, Raise your flag..." and "Raise your hand to the lord, Raise your sword to the sky, Raise your fist..." helped to confirm what I was understanding).
One of the joys of BABYMETAL is that you don't need to speak a word of Japanese to understand the emotion or the basic feelings of a song, they are so good at getting that across if you watch and listen. As Su-metal once said when they were starting out and trying to learn about, understand and appreciate metal (they spoke no English at the time, so what the English speaking bands were singing about was as much of a mystery to them as what they are singing is to you) and after watching Metallica for the first time "Don't think. Feel."

The band were there the camera just was not focused on them, it focused on Babymetal the people everyone paid money to see. The simple answer if you want to see the musicians just buy a ticket and you can watch them for the entire show, or you could watch videos of their own bands where they get the camera on themselves. Another option would be to pre order the live concert DVD when they open up pre orders which should be somewhere around the start of April

"... this is not what happens" Exactly! Some of their live performances and productions in Japan (and just a few overseas) are really big. They are considered often a "live act". And that was so clear when they had to stop their activities due the restrictions placed due the pandemic. The other important thing here is the lore (which can be sometimes changing and difficult to follow but that's secondary). They are not like any other band or group you have watched before, that's for sure. So I strongly recommend to watch them from the beginning in order to understand them better. Watching some guide also helps (the one on CrypticMisery's channel is a good one).
    Until next time! 🤘🦊

For the first time in two years, Her Majesty the Queen and the First Princess of METAL KINGDOM have given encouragement to the people of METAL KINGDOM for their new journey to freedom. From here, they gave the order to carry out a DIVINE ATTAC😁.
The concert started with this song. I sang it loudly 😁. It was very fun 😁

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This video is from most recent shows on Jan.28 /29 held near Tokyo. I witnessed both shows at the venue. They were really mesmerizing. You saw one octagonal movable / elevatable stage on the runway but actually there were two identical stages for more surprising production. Several drones with camera were flying around all over the venue. The band in the BABYMETAL's back called "Kami (God) Band" was playing on the east stage that was not captured in this video.
Once this opening song by Su and Moa got started, I had goosebumps all over my body. The show was held after the almost 2-year long hiatus after all. Seriously many of audience were moved to tears and/or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out from the west stage. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. ♪ Oh oh oh o o o ♪. What a happy experience!!
After this grave opening, 3 girls performed 12 songs with Momoko, a support dancer. Did you see 3 (not 2) thrones at 03:22 in your video? BM will change and return to 3-girl formation. The official 3rd girl is going to be unveiled in the next shows in coming April. I can't wait to see the shows at the venue again.

I like the mix of clean vocals and the heavy music. This is the studio audio over the concert footage, I wish it was the live audio cuz it would be heavier. There are a few glimpses of the band here and there. They formed BabyMetal at ages 10-12, it is a wild ride. The singer has been on stage for 20 years and she is only 25 years old here. She is a super pro esp for her age.

Don’t worry! There are so many fans who they call, “The One,” will educate you. You are in for one heck of a journey. First off as many have commented including our Queen Su-Metal (lead vocalist), Don’t think, just Feel! You don’t need to speak the language; I certainly do not. The choreography and production will help immensely, but just listen to the music and vocals. Everything else will fall in place. I look forward to watching all of your reactions.

Great reaction! Be forewarned, early Babymetal is way different than what you just watched. It is a great journey if you keep an open mind. The best suggestion I have seen in the comments so far is, Don't think, feel! Don't worry about the so called language barrier. There is no language barrier when it comes to good music. Queen Su, Goddess of all that is Metal, along with Moametal, Angel of Love, will do their very best to make sure you understand it. Subscribed for your Babymetal journey. If you have questions, just ask. We, The One, will answer anything we can. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘

Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐
Is always nice to see old BM fans and reactors coming back to hear more of them, this time returning with a more mature sound and a new BM side we've never seen before.
This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch worldwide. Many others are finding Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it looks insane. The ten prophets are holding crosiers with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol "OO" and is the title of upcoming 4th album. The girls are carrying some kind of trident similar to the Spear Of Destiny or Lance Of Longinus from Evangelion anime series, if you know MoaMetal you know you got be careful with her. 🔱
Here's some official info about this song:
    METAL KINGDOM (THRONE)
_It is a powerful anthem ushering in the beginning of a new era while also representing the power and courage to step forward into uncharted territory. The track conveys imagery of one rising powerfully from the throne of silence, with a suitable fanfare announcing this new beginning._
At the end of January at Makuhari Messe they held two great live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production.
SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. The cinematic drone shots are just insane.
We were expecting this live proshot version but we'll have to wait next month for live sound.
We got so many big news and announcements, a new official member is coming (most likely Momoko Okazaki, the one who has been performing with them all these years and latest live concerts) next live shows in April 1 (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, so we're guessing maybe some of the older kawaii metal songs they don't play anymore will be back with this new unit, so stay tuned for more but like always OTFGK.
The Kami Band were located in the east side of the arena, but if you pay attention you can see some of them during this clip.
You can find the official lyrics pinned in the comments but here's the lyrics translated for you in my next reply.
Thanks for sharing this and see you next time!🦊🤘👑

      *METAL KINGDOM* lyrics:
      LYRICIST: Kitsune of Metal God
      ARRANGER: TatsuoMetal
      [Verse 1: Sumetal]
We’re going through the passing times
      This world is crumbling
      We live while wandering
      A heart lost in darkness
      Hold me tight until dawn
      In that bright place
      Aim for tomorrow
      [Pre-Chorus: Moametal & Sumetal]
Raise your hands to the lord
Raise your voice to the world
Raise your flag. Let’s be together...
      [Chorus: Sumetal]
      Stand up KINGDOM
      Unleash your FREEDOM
      Endless journey. Endless dream
      Wake up KINGDOM
      Get it, FREEDOM
Raise the signal, go on without hesitation
      Trust your friend
      [Bridge: Sumetal]
      Negative words
      I don’t need a way back
      In that bright place
      Let’s live tomorrow
      [Pre-Chorus: Moametal & Sumetal]
Raise your head to the lord.
Raise your sword to the sky
Raise your fists. Let’s be together...

      Resonate, our voices
      Open up a new era
Let it ring, it’s our voice
      Play it, our singing voice

The production was so huge that I could not see the whole picture even though I was there! Basically, there were two stages at the two ends (say, east and west) of the big flat hall, and on a bridge that connected the stages there was a round-shaped stage that could moved between east/west stages. The girls were performing mainly on the moving stage, and the band (two guitars, one bass and drums) was playing on the "east" stage. On the "west" stage, there were three gigantic thrones from which the girls appeared in the beginning of this video.

If you want to follow the story of these girls, you could start with Megitsune (OFFICIAL), which was released in 2013 when the singer was only 15 years old (she was born in December, 1997) while the two other girls were almost 14 (born in June and July, 1999). Their very first song was recorded in 2010 and it's called Doki Doki Morning (OFFICIAL), but I think that I shouldn't start with it. Another good old song by Babymetal is called Ijime, Dame, Zettai, but the best version of this song was the one performed at Sonisphere UK in 2014, in front of 60.000 people that know nothing about them (it was their first tour outside Japan). From the end of 2013, their live presence had become so good that it is generally better to see a live performance than an original music video (with rare exceptions).

I am a 58 year old classic rock guy. Zeppelin, Yes, Wishbone Ash... yeah, those great bands from the day. The early 90s had some good stuff but man, the music scene had dried up as far as I was concerned. I had gone from a huge music fan where music was a large part of my daily existence to, meh, nothing is worth a shit anymore. There was nothing to look forward to, no new albums to get excited about. Just tours of bands well outside of their prime. Rock was indeed dead. Then one day, by accident, I stumbled across Babymetal. It was more of a laugh than anything else until I started looking a bit deeper. I came across "Headbanger Legend 1997" and something went off in my skull as in... wow, there is something here. So I started digging deeper. Next thing you know Babymetal had brought music back into my life, opening the door to a collective of Japanese bands where rock and metal is thriving. As a result, I am constantly looking forward to new music. I save money to attend multiple concerts on multiple tours. And I have Babymetal to thank for it all. I've seen Babymetal 8 times thus far. Their next tour in the USA I will make at least 4 shows, adding in Band-Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila tours as well. And there there is the almost unheard of band called Asterism, which may be the best three piece on the planet right now. For a treat, check out Asterism "Church Live in Studio" and you'll recognize greatness.

Band focused huh? OK..they are called the 'Kami Band' and have supported Babymetal in all Live Performances since 2014. The Kami Band are all Male, with the exception of a Female Violinest early on, and have a rotating cast (as their schedule and other gig commitments permit - some of the best session musicians in Japan). Be aware that recently Babymetal has added a second set of musicians to the Kami Band that are known as the "Western Kami's" that support them on their North American and European tours. In recent years, a decision was made to "Mask" the band and they now are Less prominent in the live show production. Babymetal is after all just Su-metal and Moametal and it has been made clear by/through their live production choices (i.e. pushing the Kami's to the rear) who the money makers are.
After a 1 1/2 year hiatus from performing, this was the Opening Performance of their newest concert and is the first song from their upcoming new "Concept" album, "The Other One". Since the opening track of an album sets the tone, its obvious that we can expect a more melodic offering this time around...less sharp and more rounded edges, as it were.
But, if you want to see the band again, you will need to go further back in the catalog with songs like 'Rondo of Nightmare' or 'Catch Me If You Can".
    Good luck!!
    Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

The first thing you have to know is that in Japan, children under 15 cannot go to concerts, so there is a large industry dedicated to this audience.
Kei Kobayashi, now known as Kob-metal, producer and composer the genius behind the scenes, He manages to launch his project but with many restrictions, the producers were not convinced of the project, so he had to commit to the project not having losses, This caused him to have a low budget, which forced him to use pre-recorded music (but the voices always live), borrowed costumes and zero scenery, in addition to having to focus on a children's audience, so in 2010 despite the distrust of the producers the fight begins.
Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto 12 years voice)
Also known as Queen-Su, or True metal goddess
Moametal (Moa Kikuchi 11 years Choirs)
Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno 11 years Choirs) He does not appear at the last concert of 2017 and his retirement is announced in 2018.
Their first productions are for children, as they grow in age and popularity they begin to have more freedom and more youthful songs begin to come out, The Kami-band is also established, high-level musicians to obtain a completely live sound.
After performing in shopping malls, food courts and even for free.... They arrive on December 21, 2013, and present the concierto " legend 1997" Apocalypse, which would mark a before and after, demonstrating its greatest strength live concerts.
From there they would become perhaps the greatest audiovisual show on earth.

Nice reaction. Babymetal have come a long way since they started. I usually recommend starting at the beginning with Babymetal so you can grow with the band. Literally since they started young. Hmm how young you ask? Su-metal the lead singer was around 12 and Yuimetal and Moametal scream, and dance were around 10. And they got together through some hard work by their promoter at the time. Now you ask how they have a promoter and they're not even a band yet. Actually, easier that you think. They were already in a jpop group together in Japan called Sakura Gakuin. Their promoter named Koba. Was a metalhead and wanted to do something new and different in metal. Feeling the metal scene in Japan was getting old and on the decline. Jpop was everything there at the time. This is around 2010. How much of a decline? Tower Records which is still a big thing in Japan. Once had a whole floor dedicated to Metal/rock. In 2010 it was down to a shelf next to the discount rack. Almost gone. Koba convinced the entertainment company they belong to. To let him have this passion project. They didn't think it was going anywhere but koba is a good employee. So, they let him have it. Didn't give him much of a budget to work with. Almost nothing. Back then you could have seen Babymetal for free in the mall. Like I said they've come a long way. They had their breakout in 2014 with the release of the song Give Me Chocolate. Not their first song. That honor belongs to Doki Doki Morning. Give Me Chocolate went viral. And the legend of Babymetal has grown ever since. There's a lot more but you'll get that info as you do their songs. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. See You

The Kami Bsnd was there (you saw a fleeting glimpse of a guitarist). The Kami Band is an all male backing band made up of world class musicians from Japan and the USA who tour with BabyMetal. This was an MV taken from the 2nd night of a sold out 2 night performance in Japan 3 weeks ago. BabyMetal MV’s typically do not show the band (except for Road of Resistance Live in Japan concert which you should watch next) When the LIVE pro shot comes for this concert out the band will definitely be highlighted.
There will be some knowledgeable folks who will be here soon (trust me) to give you more background. What you need to know right now is that BabyMetal is at their best LIVE and they are respected by Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Judas Priest, Guns and Roses, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and so many other legends of Metal. They are legitimate.
Remember LIVE performances and react to Road of Resistance Live in Japan
