- We take the role of the disgraced Elite Commander seen in the first cut-scenes of the game in this fourth mission of the Halo 2 campaign. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, leave a comment below.
Fun fact: The heretic grunts in these two Arbiter missions never freak out and flee, since unlike the regular Covie-grunts, they actually believe in what they're fighting for.

I believe they're Special Force Grunts - so if any of them were going to be brave, it'd have to be them.
@@willmarsden7657 And yet aren’t your allied Grunts also spec ops? Since this is a spec ops mission unlike the later mission where they are just regular grunts that got cutoff.

And the "Heretics" in this video were ironically right.
Man, I love the Halo 2 energy sword sfx. It doesn't sound generic like what 343 uses these days. It's instantly identifiable, man I love it.

Continued: so yes, the Needler does WAY more damage than the plasma pistol, even when the needles don't super-detonate. Also about the active camo: Arbiter has it, Chief doesn't.
(Chief has a broken-useless-piece-of-shit-flashlight-that-turns-off-after-a-few-seconds.) Arbiter is slightly more powerful because of it. There is no balancing.

After the release of The "MCC" It was near impossible to find videos of the ORIGINAL Halo 2 Or Halo: Combat Evolved.
@Rtas Vadum The Shipmaster Can you read? He didn't say this was part of the Master Chief Collection. He said it was hard to find classic Halo videos like this after the Master Chief Collection came out.

remember, the plasma pistol got a HUGE buff in Halo Reach. Going back to the "gold ol' days of Halo 2" the plasma pistol uncharged shot is about as useful as hurling insults at them. The Needler is a lot slower, and does much less damage than in Halo 1. You basically can't be killed by it unless you catch enough needles at once that they super-detonate. That said, this is Legendary: enemies do more damage to you with the same weapons, than you can possibly do to them.
I know this is a very late comment but needler or never able to supercombine the player in campaign unless they were already dead. It wasn't till Halo 4 that they decided to implement it.
Even as someone who speedruns these games, these are very useful I appreciate it, since I'm trying to do runs where I am killing everything.

You aren't invisible, you have active camouflage. They won't notice you from a distance, but if you walk right up to them, they won't hesitate to whack you.
Lol I love to see a guy who cares about his AI teammates. As a kid I always tried to protect the friendlies marines or covenant. But my friends never cared! Some enjoyed killing them!
I never killed them because i thought they would kill me like in Halo CE

This is one of my favorites missions of the game.
Man I tried to be completely stealth. perfectly melee them in the back and I still sound the alarm. The game is bulls shitting something. Nice walk through true player.

Skull is called Envy, found on Delta Halo. On Legendary, its 4 seconds of active camo, 8 seconds to recharge, same as the Arbiter.
I recently found out that my videos are hilarious with CCs on. Try it on some of the others, and lemme know if you find anything particularly awesome.

I actually found it easier if you dual-wield Needlers from the after the initial fight before the elevator until you get to the Banshee. It's foolproof and the easiest strategy. Hokie probably wants us to play the game not so OP, but I just go for what works best in Halo 2.
+David Lueke Also, fun fact: Legendary is so broken, the Banshee part of this mission is infinitely easier on said difficulty than Heroic. My death ratio was I'd say 4:1, the former being Heroic.

Hokiebird428 Well I tried Legendary before Heroic. Don't ask, I can't explain. The Banshee Bomb was just so ineffective. And the Banshee AI will almost never go for the Phantom if they would logically see you on Heroic. The encounter where your Banshee lost its left wing right after Follow started playing, had you been on Heroic, you'd've died. It took me ages to get past that part alone, nonetheless the rest of the mission.

Love the walk throughs, but I can't keep my team alive here to save my life. They all die after the elevator, and when I assassinate enemies, it wakes the others up. When you get to the hallways and tap out the first Elite, it wakes the grunts up and spawns the door behind me every time.
such a great game, thanks for the great walkthrough. I only try to watch when I need it :D
1) It's an exploit, so it's not a tactic I'm going to use in a Walkthrough.
2) It's unnecessary. I never had a problem with ammo for my Sword.
3) It requires you to play the mission before it, rather than starting the mission from the beginning.
4) (most importantly) It makes it impossible to arm your Elite allies with Swords in the next mission! You can't trade a depleted sword, and once you drop it, you can't pick it back up!

There were supposed to be missions where the Arbiter was supposed to kill UNSC Marines and possibly ODSTs but was cut for unknown reasons
i just completed this mission on legendary without help and 7 mission mission in total in mcc
20:25 You would be surprised... sometimes they tend to pop out of nowhere, come behind you and start firing in your rear end. It happens to me all the time, and of course there aim is amazing so they damage me pretty quickly.

You should switch the weapons around between your allies. Give them better weapons. Make sure you don't wake anyone and kill the rest like he does. Save the needlers and change all of your team's weapons with needlers. I love grunts. They're so cute. I wish I could have one. Save needlers by picking them up and dropping them. Bring them down the ramps and keep swapping them with the other weapons. Try to acquire a fuelrod gun. If you give a fuelrod gun to an ally and he does, it will have more shots. the needler is good for sentinels and fast heretics. On the banshee, fly right immediately and head exactly where he says. But, acquire a fuelrod gun and load up on ammo before you get to the entrance to the inside.
Oh I feel like we all skipped that fight and went to the blue tower 😂
When I realised I had to play as an elite I was considering this to be one of the most stunning and innovative game twists I had seen thus far. When I realised they inflated this great idea to a point you almost spend one third of the game like this my only guess left was: "You fools."
I just finished Halo 1 & 2 (heroic ) for the first time and I had NO IDEA the banshee was equipped with an alt fire :O
Actually I specifically mentioned that at 12:00, and I said that doing that is a bad idea. In the cramped quarters, they'll do more damage to you than they will to the enemy.
Just curious do you use halo 2 button combos when you aren’t creating noob guides?
I was never really into campaign back in the day. Just rushed through on heroic so I could get move on to multiplayer.
I’ve not played in years and randomly got the urge to beat all campaign’s on legendary. So far I’ve beaten reach and CE and I definitely struggled with CE the most. I feel like multiplayer skills didn’t translate to campaign with those games and it’s more strategy (hence why I’ve watched all your vids along the way).
I was nervous going into the h2 campaign with its reputation but once I started playing I immediately got into the zone and all the button combos came back to me and it has given me no problems at all.
I know the shields are weaker etc. but in CE for example there’s so much delayed animation switching guns or reloading it makes it so much harder compared to how fast everything in h2 is especially when you do just minor combos like yy for reloading.

Great video guide for halo 2 legendary difficulty. I got a guidebook for this. The master chief collection remastered of halo combat evolved 2 3 and 4 are a great remastered version.

but if they fix things like make the damage tables exact to halo 3 I would love it although halo 2 is the first halo game I played and the graphic quality it has is really nostalgic.
If you kill the 2 grunts when the door opens (heritic grunts) stay in cover and wait, then listen to the heritic elites talk. Please Reply. Also on Quarantine zone on ledgandary, look behind you and you will see a cave. walk up the path and you will see a skull, hold x on it, that will result all melee and explosions stronger until you turn off the consle.
Btw I know it is a little late but the white elites are elite ultras, the purple elites that are with you this time are spec ops elites

I'm having trouble with the start of the mission because the enemies randomly get alerted when I kill the first Elite. I even hit him with plasma pistol like you said.

Yes, actually. It only lasts 4 seconds on Legendary.
maybe bungie balanced the game giving grunts needlers because arbiter has active camo.also, except in high charity , you encounter brutes and flood only when you are the arbiter and they are a lot more powerful than elites. yeah,usually i active the skull that makes the chief invisible for 5 seconds

i like how you did the first part but i would also recommend using the explosive things that ride on the conveyor belt just a thought. ive never beaten this on legendary so i only do it on normal i dont know if it works or not

They're heretics. If you aren't old enough to know what that means, it basically means, that they've left the Covenant, and the punishment of doing that is death.
There probably are, just not in the Covenant Military.
When I hit a sleeping grunt on legendery, it just wakes them up, never kills them.
Use the energy sword instead of melee. Make sure you don't touch them before you kill them, they'll wake up immediately.
