"If I don't make it back...tell my wife...I had another wife" lol
spat my drink loool
So she's available?
@@subhunterbruh1401 so they have the right to have many wives in the US as muslims in England ?
Surprise toy City nah... it's just a joke bro
*dies as a troll*
The tail art on the F-5 was incredibly appropriate.
Ok boomer
Banzai
Hats off to Sherman (and his wives). Honorable mention to Raptor.
LOL
It was all a distraction, real plan was to use F5 to take out the ship, right Cap? right? ;)
Today in "Why they spend so much money developing exotic long range stand-off munitions."
this man gets it
>Spends 17 minutes planning like their lives depend on it, including less conventional tactics like LGB lobbing
"Oh man, this is gonna be awesome."
>20 minutes of Chinese Fire Drill clusterfucks later where your primary target is taken out at the last minute with a kamikaze
"..."
lol
No plan survives the first contact with the enemy
But they had fun...which I am thinking was really the objective
I felt it was like the bombing of Polesti by B-24. If they had gone in together from different directions they would overwhelm the SAM's instead of 2-3 at a time.
@@gnomecleaverdwarfslayer5201 a speed attack against a battleship can really cripple it and avoid its missles too but you have to be really dead on with your aim
2 sugestions:
1- if you're dead, you're shouldn't be speaking. Personally there's nothing more irritating than "backseat" driving.
2- An Aircraft Carrier must be one of THE MOST difficult targets to nail in the world, it doesn't help that you came in waves. Saturation of defenses is the key here, everyone (if possible) should be attacking the target at the same time to overwhelm it's defense systems.
My 5 cents.
Roger, the organisation didn't work very well.
I understand, this was constructive criticism believe me. I WISH I could fly formation as good as any member of the Reapers can.
Mig21 nuke...dun
+Kim Chi Can't you read? Nukes were not allowed.
sarcasm
The air defense umbrella from those ships was amazing.
It is already difficult as it is...but the attacks came on target spaced, being defeated one by one. If they could coordinate the arrival of the strike packages all together and from all directions, the point defence of the ship would have had to do hard choices.
You ever thought about uploading some DCS, Orange?
Yes... once I get my computer relocated to my desk in my basement and get my joystick set back up, maybe.
Orangefan Did that missile brake and then redirect?!!!!!
Orangefan I'm glad he got splashed for shooting the MIG 29 on the carrier deck.

to the guy flying the A-10 with the Baltimore Ravens logo on the front left, props to you buddy! Go RAVENS!!!
You had ONE primary target - the general command vessel - and nobody even tried to get it (until the kamikaze by the F5). Viggens with dumb bombs - when it can carry RB15F with a range of 37 nm. This could (should) have been a 4 step mission:1: Take out the SU33's and/or distract them - 2: Take out the command vessel - 3: Take out the rest of the (then reduced) air defence - 4: Send in the A10's to do the final bombing of the harbour. I am still no expert in the Viggen, but I am pretty sure that you can pre-programme the target very precisely (based on the info from your mole). If you then come from the sea or pop up over the ridge you have a clean shot.
Ye it was a real mess Cam
While I think some better planning for the Viggen could have been done, I don't fault the use of bombs in this one really. The Rb-15F is pretty mighty, yes, but it's optimized for attacking moving ships on the open sea, not a port strike. The issue one would run into with the Rb-15 is that it cannot distinguish between one ship or another, and will simply attack what's in it's designated engagement envelope. That envelope has to be large in order to give the missile time to acquire and steer into the vessel, and if there's more than one, then it will select one on various criteria. But there's no setting for it to be able to pick a specific one individually. If the aim was to simply sink as many as possible (or the carriers) then that would change things for certain, though vessels behind the jetties would be a difficult target. Getting missiles inside the harbor without hitting anything else would be challenging and largely up to chance.
For the Viggen, the best option here, I think, is the Rb-75T, which was actually envisioned for the ASuW mission for smaller craft and situations like this one. Sweden is littered with littorals where ships could shadow themselves. But the seeker is really limited and the engagement window short, and by the time you acquire you're practically on top of the target.
All in all, I think using the Viggens for dockstrike with bombs was the right call. But please, please, for next time.
1. Set an accurate mission waypoint.
2. Switch your altitude source to RHM. My god, I was screaming at my monitor watching the HUD still set to barometric.
One thing you could do if you want to avoid overflying the dock and all of it's AAA is use a loft bombing technique. (Bunyap does this here, it's essentially the same as Nav only you pitch up once the trigger is pulled. czcams.com/video/1SSx5M3EB8s/video.html )
If I had my pick of weapons to hit that ship, then this would be a straight JDAM strike. I think the Harriers and F-5s with LGBs probably had the best bet, especially if your mole had a laser target designation. ;)
Better luck next time!
i tyhink they could have used a couple of rb15s to take out that carrier, then they shgould have gone over very high with a load of GBu 31s, with cover from a load of fighters
You need 12 hits to get the carrier down - and that was not the primary target. It is not possible to go over this fleet - their missiles goes higher than any plane. The problem seems to be that it is hard (impossible) to get the RB15F to lock on to one specific target in a group - they are working on it and I imagine that there is a solution.
cmibm my point about the GBU 31s I still think is correct
as a swede who did military service in the air branch as a flight mechanic, seeing Viggens strike is hearth warming. Though very unrealistic in this part of the world. Fun fact: striking approaching russian fleets was a main objective of the swedish viggen strike group operating in the baltic; its nickname was "ÖBs slägga". Meaning "Supreme commanders sledgehammer".
Im a Radar Technician in the US NAVY and the F-5s at 30:54 are the exact same squadron stationed at my command VFC-111 the sundowners lol
awesome
35:25
Imagine seeing a shotgun of AA coming at you like that before shooting on target lol
Hugging the treeline, all in the finest tastes in SAAB 37 Viggen flying! Great video, I'll be watching more of this!
Man the take off shots you take are so friggin sweet! Thanks for the vids! 💪👍👍
18:00 start of the game
Whoever planned that mission is now polishing toilets...
Loved the video! The banter was funny, serious at times and the camera work was the best!! The fact it's not all in the cockpit makes it so much more enjoyable as a spectator. Subscribed :)
39:13 and running for about 15 seconds was the best part... that shit was intense, head-on dual missile launches against each other.
This was legitimately entertaining. Great editing, intense action, fun personalities. Good work.
Welcome Raider
36:14 "Good dodge!"
Nah, good SAAB!
I love this video. Never seen a format like this before. Adding the external views of all the other units is a really good idea and I love it
19:00 Thats one of the most beautiful Things ever
Man!!! This is better than any movie or TV show 👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
These videos are so awesome and so well put together.. beautiful job.
Incredible. Your videos are absolutely incredible. I just got into DCS, I am learning. But once I learn the ropes, I would love to fly with you guys.
Okay, I can't believe I watched the whole thing, and it was damn entertaining. Edge of my seat. Thank you!
Welcome JJ
If I could I would give this a million thumbs up , you guys had me on the edge of my seat .. Bloody BRILLIANT !!!!
Thanks Rudolpha
Best tactic is to 1)overwhelm enemy tracking with electronic counters. 2)ID three points of attack commit. 3)commence 1 & 2 simultaneously with everyone committing 50-75% of missile ordinance on the CV.
If CV made useless or sunk, the enemy task force's CV defense priority is thwarted and also results in a morale buster.
Clear out of area to a rdvu, regroup/rearm/repair maintaining a CAP to fend off any following enemy avengers.
Reattack with same tactic using 3 different attack commit points.
CV should be primary, SAMs and non-CV targets, secondary, strategic targets (ie, containers) triary targets.
You always need CAP pilots to protect strike aircraft who should dog fight after striking or to self defend while egressing to rdvu point.
After launching 2nd strike, assess the CV is still a threat or not, then shift targeting to the other task force vessels.
Attack formation abreast, simultaneous foxes, break same direction to rdvu and repeat.
Electronic counters should be done with Wild Weasels on SAMs and enemy ship fire controllers.
Rehearsal training is recommended.
Hope you forgive long arm chair refereeing.
Never, never, never, never, never surrender.
GO GRs !
Just fantastic thinking and well played - salute
Cracking vid. Lol. Loved it especially Sherman's suicide run
Thx
Just found your channel, Brilliant! Cheers to all the lads! Thanks for sharing.
The pike livery at 23:22 is simply stunning!
Roger V Sexy
Great video. I liked the music pacing, the sudden silence when the Viggen was shoot down was a nice touch.
Thx
Nice Flight All GR! ;) Cool Vid CAP!
The mission had "Suicide" written all over it! Valiant effort, great video!
Thanks
kipling would have been proud
Man, that was intense when the strike was in full flow. Great stuff! ☺️👍
26:03 Absolute madman in the Harrier
And "The sum of all fears" made it look as easy as eating pie
Végig izgultam az egész bevetés! Óriási volt! Gratulálok!
This was beautiful to watch you plan and execute, guys!
Damn, I love watching this channel. On Twitch, as well.
This was fun to watch.
Enjoyed thank you chaps ---
Oh man that Harrier killing those two Flankers in the beginning was epic! :D
Roger
39:57
The warthog got their lunch money taken
best DCS montage ever :D
really shows the awesomeness of the simulator ^-^
last pilot in the end with suicide hhhhhhhhh made me laugh so hard, really i like you guys coz am learning alot from you, thumbs up
What an awesome video! Worthy of a Hollywood movie!
Scary AAA and SAMs!!
That was a really exciting mission to watch, great job! Without dedicated SEAD & a fighter sweep blue team was probably doomed from the start unfortunately.
Engrossing suicide mission, 34:00-34:20 = reminiscent of 1982 bomb alley
The takeoff was just epic, as was the wave-top flying. Very cool having so many guys in one mission.
What an awesome bunch of pilots!
Love this channel! Well done gents
great content guys amazing
Props to you guys. . This was far more entertaining that Iron Eagle, Top Gun and Last Star Fighter combined. :)
thx!
This was insane...good vid
loving the ace combat music man
Personally I would fit Lifeline form AC4 here.
it hasn't aged well...
It’s an unspoken law. You must use Ace Combat OST
That's highly subjective, like most things
This video triggers me...
Ramps on Aircraft Carriers are Blasphemy
At the end a single F5 tiger tries to take the whole fleet. LMFAO.
Kamikaze
Well at least he did brought that ship down with him. My hero
so this went poorly.
You guys could coordinate with the Army and call in a distraction package from the MSLR's. You guys needed Weasels or Prowlers to blind them and Apaches to take out their AA- AAA batteries.
I was so impressed. 👏👏👏
that was kinda exciting. Cool post. thx.
This game looks great. I used to play Janes Fa-18 and USAF back in the early 2000's and been missing those days. Maybe I should check out this game hmm..
This was VERY entertaining to watch! Those Harriers jumping the Flankers was amazing.
I'd love to see you guys try this again with a first wave of saturation attacks. All six viggens fire rb15's. Use the ck37 TOT feature and you can guarantee they all arrive for the carrier at once. Once you wipe out the carrier its bombs for the containers and mavs for the command vessel.
As dangerous as the flankers are it was the panic the carrier caused that allowed them to focus outwards. The carrier has to be inop for this mission to work.
Beautiful, beautiful carnage!
This was GREAT to watch. Really enjoyed it guys. First vid of yours I've seen. Friendly critique if I may. You didn't seem to have a well coordinated TOT. Maybe you did but I didn't hear the flight times vs arrival in planning. Also looked like everybody took off at the same time. Those Sukhoi's are beautiful. Kudos to raptor for owning 2 of them. The air defense was absolute hellacious but I figured that during the brief. I was VERY surprised that no one was on dedicated SEAD given what I heard cause frankly, I wouldn't have even tried going in there without it. Really outstanding vid IHMO. Thanks much for posting it.
hats off to you for posting this colossal fuck up
Like a Movie! STOKED
Welcome :)
I understand the idea you had of splitting up to distract the Migs, but in doing so you allowed the carrier to focus all of its efforts on each of you individually. It would work better if you could get everyone to arrive on target at the same time, decreasing the effectiveness of both the carrier and migs while increasing your chances of getting munitions on target.
Great effort!! Loved the video. I agree that you were completely outclassed by the naval anti-air firepower. Recommend redo with Gen4 aircraft
Roger
thanks lads
thx
That was a very intense battle. I bet you all wished you had at least one Viggen armed with anti ship missiles to take out that carrier.
Wow...that was fun to watch that...nice.
42:05 his brain overloaded that was to much pressure for him foxtrot uniform
lol yes
Hello aaaaaaaand welcome back to the Reapers... Another great vid guys!
Thx
Dear Grim Reapers this mission was class thanks pmsl
the AirShow was cool on big screen...
The hell was that, it was like the the gates of hades were surrounding these ships
That NOE flying is actually thrilling/scary!
What a merry band of buccaneers... :) Attacking the Su33s with Viggens and a Fishbed? :) Now, they should be up against the Yakolevs or something like that.
Nothing worked, but it was sure fun to watch! :D Great vid guys! Keep 'em coming! Now I want DCS too...
F-5 Ooo nice tail its just art
44:00 LAST SAMURAI "Naniiiiiiiiih"
I was expecting a tropical area as Brunei is in South East Asia.... Great content and cool video!
Having that view of the incoming fire on my A10 it's no wonder I got shredded! Fun mission Cap as always!
Thx
you lads looks to have so much fun i wish you good games and keep uploading the videos :) those viggen´s :)
Fitting that the plane with the imperial Japanese flag on it would go kamikaze at the end...
It seams as though you were lining up one at a time to get shot down. How very polite.
What a tense fight!
Never played it. Now I must own it. And maybe even make a model cockpit to sit in.
@ 19:15 LMAO never knew a jet could take off at like 20 miles per hour LOL. Looks like they are barely moving...
Bloody hell, whether its air combat or cribbage, I want you guys on my side !
Your team needed two dedicated SEAD aircraft to launch 8 HARM rockets. Harpoons should have been carried to take out the ships.
This video was good, and then the Ace Combat music kicked in and it became EPIC
Great vid
Great video. For low altitude attacks you should learn from the Argentine pilots who attacked the English fleet in the Malvinas War, and got 7 warships sank.
@EFEZZE6280 same as mmm idk the Sheffield? Conveyor? Ardent?
@EFEZZE6280 hahaha fucking burning
First I gotta say I just Learned about Arma, I am a big fan of SIM games but I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw the planning phase good over all idea but to many chiefs not enough Indians. Second I was impressed with the dog fighting and the navigation of all the pilots involved but I have one major suggestion. The use of the A-10s in this mission was an absolute waste. I don't say that because they didn't have a purpose but mainly because they were not properly implemented, A-10s aren't dog fighters, or meant for taking contact and shooting back they can not fight like that. They come in high above the fire fight line up on a target and dive in for the kill. That Vulcan cannon starts firing away at the top of the dive so those rounds take down the target before the A-10 is to close to the danger and the rockets are for clean up or larger area dispersion of fire power. Unfortunately those poor A-10s became fodder before they could help the mission. I have personally had my ass saved by some hot shot A-10 Pilots in Iraq few years back nothing sweeter then the sound of there main gun glassing the enemy.
But any ways pretty cool guys!
Damn its like star wars
"If I don't make it back, tell my wife, 'I had another wife.'" Hilarious lol
i played f18 interceptor as a child, a loot. i would have shit my pants when seeing this.
The take-off party was great. I feel sad for that Harrier, who got finished by Flanker's gun, he was quite brave.
