Just wanted to say, what aoe content I wish to be able to watch on yt more (maybe you find some inspiration for your future videos 😊):
-pros like 2k6+ coaching 2k players or even intermediate players who are really eager to learn the game
-videos on micro. How to micro mangonells, how to micro xbows etc. in specific situations
-videos where you explain while playing your thought process (how to counter my opponent civ, what are its weaknesses, what are my civ weaknesses, what were my opponent's mistakes etc).
-videos for lower elos where you on purpose make low elo mistakes in a game and then show how to recover from them

It's fascinating how among all the very objective reasonings behind the tiermaking you can still get a lot of "stylistic" feelings between the pros (for example, compared to Hera's list this one seems to overall rate meso and some archer civs higher and some cav civs lower). Very interesting to see

Here's a suggestion for a follow-up video: take this tier list, and for each civ in intermediate tiers, list 2 good matchups and 2 bad matchups (could be 1 or 3 depending on how long you wish to make it) from the tiers above them and below them. For example, Bulgarians is a low B tier and Aztecs is S and Chinese high A BUT Bulgarians vs Aztecs is not too bad a matchup because you have easy infantry switches and late game mobility, so while you will still lose often, you'd rather face Aztecs than Chinese, as Chinese is a case of "either I do great MAA damage or I'm really behind". Symmetrically, among C tier civs, the Bulgarians vs Goths matchup is good but you don't want to roll Bulgarians vs Persians because Persians have better eco and Bulgs really struggle vs camel xbow. I think this video would be relatively quick for you to make and would be a good way to share/showcase your knowledge of the game and civ matchups.

@@MbL_AoEit doesn't have to be longer, since you start from an established tier list, you don't have to recap what the bonuses are etc. so you can just jump straight into the matchups. Anyway it's just an idea and I think it would suit your style more to go beyond the basic discussion of civs and more in depth on matchups or on strategy decisions. I really enjoy your strategy discussions on stream. Thanks for the great content!

Just some advice Embee - the effort you put into this is amazing, however I believe that the CZcams algorithm "reacts" badly to long videos that don't get watched all the way through. So it might be worth trying to shorten the video down to ~15 minutes so that people are more likely to watch the whole thing. Just a suggestion though, good luck and thanks for the content.

I struggle against Gurjaras all the time. I really dont understand why top players don't put them as S Tier even after they nurfed. I don't think they have a weak point. And all their bonuses are useful and relevant to each other

Idea for showmatch to find out which eagle civ is the best: only american civs, play each civ against each other one, play all 9 games.
@mbl i know you guys "pros" know this but i think what people fail to recognize about Lithuanians is that their relic bonus does not do anything vs certain key matchups. so i understand your opinion.
so most common match ups are knights vs knights or knights vs xbows line
generic knight castle age vs 2 armor xbows :
4 hits without iron casting, iron casting has no effect.
generic knight castle age vs villager, 4 hits without iron casting, again iron casting no effect.
castle age lithuanian knights with relics:
+2 relics and iron casting is minimum requirement to kill xbows in 3 hits "10+4 = 14 - 2 = 12 so 36 damage in 3 hits"
vs villagers minimum of 3 relics + iron casting to ill them in 3 hits. "again vils 1 armour and 3 hits do 39 so you need +1 more"
so now lithuanians in a situation where they are too pushed to get relics and they will gain almost no values unless they get a certain number this problem is magnified in imperial age BECAUSE even 5 relics won't change the number of hits a paladin need to kill an arbalester. imagine struggling too hard to get 3-4 relics with Lithuanian paladins only to end up performing teh exact same as a spanish paladin vs arbs and villagers?
like i've watched too many game replays for ppl between 1300-1900 reccently and surprisingly enough many if not most of the ppl would rush iron casting in knight play vs crossbows. it is a very surprising thing to me because knights with +1 deal 11 damage so if archers get 2 armour knights deal 9 damage which kills crossbows in 4 hits.
in oder to kill crossbows in 3 hits knights needs to do 14 damage per hit before armour so this also puts lithuanians under a lot of pressure imo. so they will need at least 2 relics + iron casting other wise they are just ordinary knights or 3 relics without iron casting. and so it feels to me like they have to invest too much into securing those relics before enemies in castle age. all of that is good
BUUUUUT, then comes imperial age and now their 2 relics bonus is completely naturalized by blast furnace. but my problem with them is that EVEN AT 5 RELICS
their paladins will deal 14+7 = 21 so they will do 21-3 on arbs
so even with 5 relics which is impossible. they still can't 2 shot an arbalester so they still do the same as any other paladin against this match up for example.
my point is, lithuanian paladins are just average paladins vs too many units and it makes me wonder "what the hell did they suffer gathering all those 3+ relics for ?"
I have a cuestion.
Would you say that giving Cumans the normal speed of building 2nd TC will broke them? because i think one cause of they struggling in midgame is that slow 2nd TC, sometimes you don't even want to build it and prefer going for a more normal build order to Castle Age.

I'm surprised you placed Tatars this low, their horse archer timing is pretty insane. I kinda feel like they're strictly better Huns sometimes. Kinda how the Mongols are a step up from both these civs.
The volume of the microphone is going up and down a lot, might need to fix that to the next one. Sometimes your voice get louder than it normally is in the video.
franks didnt lose their berry bonus, that change never came to live patch
Franks actually didn't get nerfed. The nerf in PUP got reverted and Franks still have 15% faster berries, so you can safely put them in A-tier without hesitation.

It's so ridiculous. There is no sea on the Arabia map, so countries with strong navies should be put directly into D class. Also, on maps without sea, Cavalry, Camel and Elephant units remain very strong, you should definitely put these countries in S class.

Cool list. Mostly agree but hard disagree about Sicilians. Sicilians are a great cav civ. Top tier cavalier. Probably put them b tier
Their main issue is lack of eco bonuses, the extra food on farm doesn't do anything until mid/castle age and at that point you are already behind.
Also all their units are serviceable/pretty good but the civ just gets outpaced so easily and having zero amazing power unit makes them not work at higher levels
Every single other cavalry civ (Or with good cavalry at least) has better eco bonuses, stronger units and gets to their power spikes faster
Look at Franks, Malians, Poles, Portuguese, Mongols, Gurjaras, Khmer etc.
@@Mattroid99Sicilians are better than every one of the C tier civs. Plus they get reduced bonus damage. How's that not at least B tier?
@@youcanthandlethetruth5433Simply, they have one of the worst eco bonuses in the game, it literally does nothing until early CA (So you are playing Dark and Feudal without an eco bonus), and after that their farms last so long that their reseed will kick in in Imp where is no longer relevant.
The reduced bonus damage is good, but they are still far from immune to it, none of their power unit is amazing and they usually end up playing as a bad cav civ that can't keep up.
I don't agree with that personally, they have no clear gameplan and are too slow to even get there. I can see better win conditions with Goths (Make the game very messy because of discounts and extra hunt), Bohemians (HCs and Mangonels in CA) etc for example, both very mediocre/flawed civs but at least have a plan
The only 3 civs Tier S according to MBL are the only 3 American civs. Any doubt he loves Eagles?
