That's what I'm doing..I'm in California and the property owner is selling the house I have rented for 12yrs and nowhere is renting now for under 3k unless you are in the hood. To be honest I'm scared man. I'm a single dad and I just hope it's not to ruff on her and we are safe. I'm very worried about safety because they are so flimsy.
Went to America-Go-RV the other day and the sales guy since it was hot outside didn't even wanna take me for a tour or show me RV's. Then he mentioned that they sell out so fast they really don't care much about customers because someone else will just come in and buy one. I'll be buying my RV from somewhere that cares this next time i go!

I've been window shopping for a few months trying to narrow down my eventual purchase... you have sold me on Grand Design. Now I just need to narrow down if I want to do the 1/2 ton towable 5th wheel or a travel trailer... definitely going with Grand Design just because of your reviews.

Awesome little trailer. I'd love to start out with something like this.
There are dozens of shorter overview videos but they don't offer many of the details provided here. If you want a quick overview, watch other videos, but when you want a deeper dive come back to this one. Also glad to see the dinette. Even though dinettes seem to be losing favor, I don't understand needing two sofas in a couples camper. The murphy bed isn't for everyone, but we like the dual-function space and ability to keep the dinette.

Clayton, we picked up ours today, with the dinette just like this! Grand Design continues to tweak the design. They’ve added bedside cubbyholes now later in the model year. We’re super impressed with the attention to detail throughout. Your video definitely contrived to our decision to buy!

Love this, every time I pick a camper I find one I love more! Bathroom is TOO AMAZING! I prefer this kitchenette w/surrounding bench. Yet to find one with space for the washing machine I found, foot powered by pedaling, needs about 2 foot by 3 feet....
Minor thing I know, but Winnebago’s Murphy bed system uses a slightly bigger base so you have no gaps. When up you can’t see the bedding sticking out.

It wont be rent free. You still have to park it some place and have access to power and water
If you do not pay for it up front you still have to make payments and it can be repo'd if you miss payments , so its just like renting .

Thanks for your videos! I have a 2021 Lincoln Aviator that has the class IV towing package and trailer brakes controller installed. I have a 6700 towing capacity and a payload just north of 1644lb. Is this trailer suitable for my SUV, or am I cutting it too tight for longer drives and for driving through some occasional mountain roads? We like this model, but would like an alternative should this be unsafe. Thanks

We are also like to see what you have without a slide if this won’t work with side into walk all a round to get to things without putting side out . At least what I’ve seen in other videos, you have access to sofa, dinette, kitchen/fridge, and even the bathroom! Only thing is bed cannot go down.
Yes, you can still get around to everything with the slide out in. Except put the bed down.
Clayton, as always, you present your viewers very informative videos! I really like this floor plan, but due to budget constraints, the transcend xplor 200mk is more feasible for us. I wonder though, if the Murphy bed in this model can be installed in the 200mk, (in place of the fixed bed) to gain additional seating? Thank you.

As mentioned by someone else, the 2021 model has windows on 3 sides of the slide.
For the criticism of the shower door, I've had the same door on a Winnebago that we owned for 6 years, and it would be my preference because it simply works!
In response to some of the criticism of design and/or features, I've gone over mine with a fine tooth comb. The combination of well thought out design and build quality is quite possibly unmatched at this price point, and arguably even at double the price. Get out and look at one in person and decide for yourself!
This camper looks great... the design appears to be very well thought out, in addition to the colors and stylings chosen.
But, why on Earth, would I want to look at the bottom 6 inches of my mattress & the smooshed up sheet corners? The wood is so pretty across the top of the closed Murphy bed. However, it looks like a mistake in measuring leaving the end of the mattress hanging out & exposed to me... (why not bring the wood “valance“ down further to it?) Not a good design there, I’m afraid. Most every other little detail looks very good, which makes this design detail stand out like a sore thumb. Perhaps you could let the powers that be know that this looks cheap and it bugs people who have to look at it. Overall, this camper is Winner!

Wow this unit is cool right up my alley.I only wish that would have a slide topper a regular stationary shower head instead of that stupid wand thing and a electric cook top instead of the gas top. I personally believe that a gas cook top in any rv travel trailer or fifth wheel is a slap in the face to campers.Please tell me what you guys think if I’m wrong in that belief or not thanks

Love it except that bent Murphy bed...want a one piece Murphy mattress !!
Rockwood Mini Lite has a Murphy Bed that is a one piece mattress that does not fold. BUT....doing it that way really cuts into your front pass through space. Go check it out.
What time of the year would I get the best price?
Very nice but the prices are through the roof for Imagine RV's. I was looking at sites in CA and this one was actually more expensive than a Northwood Nash 23D, which is a true all season trailer and built like a house. It's also larger than this.

Great job on the video. Why not use azdel for the outer shell?
Screw retention is the biggest reason. Through GDRV’s rigorous testing they’ve determined that Azdel doesn’t give them the necessary screw retention for longterm structural integrity. GDRV uses a far superior exterior seal vs the old butyl putty sealant on most other products. Unless you use Azdel in all aspects of your exterior construction, eliminating all wood, you’re no better ahead especially if you have an inferior seal. GDRV ensures a superior seal than others ensuring longterm structural integrity. They also stuff their aluminum tubes with wood dowels to properly secure fasteners, and frame in their window openings with Aluminum tubes. Most products to neither which will lead to eventual moisture intrusion no matter the backer in the sidewalls. Hope this helps!!😀

18:09 is that daylight I see between the slide and the interior of the trailer? Also can’t use the bed with the slide in.
Joeduke1234, keen eye you have. Fortunately what you’re seeing is a cosmetic chrome strip that’s inlaid into the slide casing, not daylight. You are correct in that you need to have the slide out in order to fold the Murphy bed down completely. In the unlikely event you’re unable to open the slide fully and need to sleep in the trailer, you can fold the U-shaped dinette down as an extra sleeping position. Thanks for your comment!!😀

Put the floor plan and GVWR at the beginning of your video, long enough for someone to read . A lot of these videos I don’t bother with unless they show that at the beginning.

Yes, Grand Design doesn't install toppers on the lower price point trailers at the factory. It would be a dealer installed option. Apparently that is another Covid related shortage right now!

Great question! The mattress does have a hinge point to allow it to fold up. With that said we have had customers add a foam mattress topper for added comfort that allowed it to still fold up. A regular mattress without a hinge point will not work. We hope this helps.
What happened to the bathroom.
It was there the wash hand basin and the large shower plus the toilet.
So nice but I would never get one because there's hardly any windows! Too bad they scrimp on windows, the most important thing! No side windows in dinette and no front window! You will feel boxed cooped up in there. I think anybody would rather spend another $1000 more to have more windows.
New ones have windows in slide out.
We winter camp. Windows means large heat loss. For us, the smaller/fewer windows the better.
Sandra Westley from the UK yes we would do panoramic windows all around the front, we holiday on a beautiful site with the sea all around and you would need the windows to enjoy the view.

I agree. No one seems to want to talk about price -- what's the big secret? -- although one commenter said price new was around $36,000 in California and how they got a great used like new one for $22,000; they drove from California to Tennessee to get it and how it was worth the drive, saving money. I realize that the price will differ depending on what package and add-ons, but it would be nice to know a base price for none of the extra bells and whistles.

The toilet was right by the wash hand basin to the right of the shower, he gives you a view into the bathroom and the loo was there.

The shower door is not what you would expect it to be. There’s a reason why he didn’t pull it open! Lol for me personally it was a deal breaker when looking for an RV.

Really poor design to have the propane furnace right underneath the refrigerator. Not smart at all.
I own a 2019 Grand Design Reflection 28bh 5th wheel and we really like it.
