    The ankle tap will always be the funniest type of tackle in rugby to me, the way you think you could just get away and all of a sudden you’ve lost balance and your headed towards the ground at an incredible speed, always gets me 🤦🏾‍♂️ 😂

    Great video as always. In Brazil we call it "Tackle Francês", which means "French Tackle", so for me it is always kind of ironic seeing someone using them against France. And I have to say, it is such a beautiful piece of skill that is not mentioned enough.

      From basking in pre-try glory as you scythe through the opposition, to a sudden tornado of grass, knee-cap skin, mouth-fulls of dirt and opposition’s snickering ... yeah, it hurts!

    • @warthonlowge3772
      @warthonlowge3772 Před 3 lety +2

      Answering your question, no. It doesn't hurt, it's like if you were stumbling to the ground while running... with a ball. The grass helps to have a smooth fall, dirt and mud will give you the classic superficial wound on the knee(s). No bruises, no dirt in the mouth unless you don't know what equilibrium is and don't know how to fall (judo can help in that matter). And talking about how it feels like.... It's amasing. Running, tackling, helping, improvising, playing by the many but logic rules, everything gives you adrenaline and it's like having a trip with your squad having the mission to reach the score line and solidarity is key. That's why when one scores a try all the team feel the satisfaction like if it was theirs. After a game you do go home with no energy maybe a little bruise here and there, or just feel destroyed but happy.

      @al-uw4ln Před 2 lety

      Classic tripping technique (which is basically same ankle tap but executed by your foot) doesn't hurt, near everyone did it to friends just for fun in young age. But if you hit the opponent SUPPORTING leg (when it ON THE GROUND), you can break the ankle or cause other injury. It's too complex for referees (without using video equipment) to make difference, such any foot tripping is banned. As opposed to it, hands are too weak to injure legs and "hand tripping" is allowed.
