HUR
I interviewed Carlin Isles back in 2014 at the Wellington 7s. He may well be one of the fastest men in world rugby, he is also one of the most polite, respectful and humble men you will ever meet. An absolute gentleman and a pleasure to work with
❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Same with MMA fighters. Once you know and feel it in your bone that some men in this planet can literally break you in half, it humbles you.
@@cambodianriverpig7613 MMA fighters are what? Polite, respectful? Comparing apples to oranges ain't ya? Most of MMA fighters are complete douche bags. Sad to see that you are humbled by such.
@@cambodianriverpig7613 hm idk, but i can say that applies to strongmen
@@cambodianriverpig7613 be the man and don't be scared!
I can tell you that when on the field a guy leaving you in the dust is one of the worst feelings ever.
I think getting caught is wayy worse tbh
@@Zanjibro yea that to lol
Especially for these dudes who prolly been the fastest on the field their whole lives
In any field sport, as a tall slow guy, page is the worst thing to play against
@@Zanjibro but when your being caught your just thinking of evading the guy it finding someone else & scoring the try, then when he does tackle you you've just got to play on as the games still going likely, your not focussed in it, when the guys getting away from you you can see it & there's nothing you can do, & is just that wait of him going & scoring, it's that feeling of uselessness
Baker runs beautifully
His legs look 6 foot long
Don’t even touch the ground
No one cares about sevens
It is very aesthetically pleasing
I know rite
I'll never forget being at the 2008 Rugby world sevens in Edinburgh. Watching Fiji vs Canada, William Ryder outsprints a Canadian almost full length of the pitch, with 20m to go, he turns around and waves at him! Priceless.
Send me a link brother
@@joshuakla6267 have searched high and low and still can't find video footage
That is true and he also did it to a Argentinian that same year
That first chase tho, HOLY CRAP!!!
Ya, don't be fooled by the 25m though, is not like he made that much ground up when your running at an angle like that
@@kurtsudheim825 yeah, if the Guy with the ball ran 100m, the chaser needed to run 103m at angle to make up the 25m diffrence
me raceing my friend
When Baker puts the foot down, my reaction be like "🤯😳🙈🙆♂️🙅♂️"
Ikr
sometimes this is depends what they've just done, whether they've just run hard, taken a knock, slight angles or movements etc
I was 18. Only ever played school rugby. Someone wanted to start a town rugby team where I lived, so I tried out - got a place in the XV. I was on the wing at the time, later they played me fly-half. A local RAF camp sent their 3rd XV along to play us - we creamed them. So they were a bit stung by that and sent their 1st XV to play us. They were out of our league; they scored try after try and we couldn't get there. The fly half signalled to me that he was going to re-start after a try by pretending to kick for the scrum to the left, but he swerved and kicked to me. I caught the ball and set off for the try line. I heard warning shouts and looked back and saw an enormous RAF player the size of Dave Bautista running me down. I just made it over the line and scored - our only try. Never been so scared in my life!
Haha. Great story. I have been there. Grew up in the country in NZ. Was one of the better rugby players in our small pond. Moved to Dunedin for University and got absolutely destroyed by giant islanders who were somehow much bigger and so much faster than me. I will be honest and say my rugby career did not last long after that.
I went to play 5- a-side football one Saturday morning with my friends and ended up playing for Brazil National team
Did you play their 2nd XV then
A few points. In many cases the guy still scored the try, but you have to love the effort and it generally caused the conversion to be taken wide. Also, the recovery of these guys, especially in the 15 a side version to do this over and again for 80 minutes is astonishing

How did you miss May vs Savea?!
Oooo
Senatla vs Lutumailagi. That was epic too, Senatla points to the line in challenge.
Not only does baker out pace EVERYONE, he makes the best tackles when running at full speed! fucking nuts
If you pause at exactly 3:00 you can see Norton's face light up when he realizes he's about to gas 'em
Yeah but he didn’t. He stepped to score
@@AreLL true, Isles caught up easily. The change in direction did him in.
I think you don't know what that word means. Norton clearly swerved/stepped to beat Isles' chase there.
It's nice how he helps him up after tackling him at 0:37 Good sportsmanship.
Carlin's an inspiration.
Whether a guy prevents the opposition's try or not, I just can't admire them enough for showing the absolute determination, passion and commitment to give 110% to make it to the guy and execute the tackle like their life depended on it. Those are the players I would want on my team.
2:05 "Baker versus Norton, two thoroughbreds"
In the meantime the umpire is just like "Yo dawg I needed to see this up close and personal"
Garden-Bachop in a video titled "When Fastest Rugby Players Meet Each other"?!?!?!? Hahahahahahahhaahah don't kill me
Yoo, Garden Bash is a quick bloke....

I thoroughly enjoyed that.
the Title alone Brought me here! I just love Rugby.
Carlin is crazy fast, him and Bake would make a crazy flash duo
great video thanks
I'm not a rugby fan but this would make a great promo video. Awesome stuff.
Salute to you sir thank you for the video
Excellente video 👍
Thank you! GREAT vid. 3:19 ... just magic!
Incredible !
Soild video hope there's more like this keep it's up holla
Glad you enjoyed
Great Vid
That O'Connor chase was a good one.
Nanai-Williams was such an underrated gem with one of the most dangerous gooseys ever!
that O'connor tackle was a BEAUTY !
agree
Watching Baker run is truely a thing of beauty
Dude that is so Insane I don’t know what to say LOL 😂
Well done🤙😁
hahaha i lost it 3:03 "HA! I'll take that"; "Hold my beer"
Great video. For you Irish out there: has Conroy ever gotten a look for the 15s national team? I think he's faster than Rees-Zammit
I don't think Conroy has even played at Provincial level. He's something of a sevens specialist. Worth keeping an eye out for Aaron Sexton who spent some time with the sevens team and is working up through the Ulster academy. He is faster again.
zammit has only just started working on his speed so hopefully he just keeps getting faster and faster
Look out for Ryan Baird. Leinster Lock and just making the breakthrough into the Irish team. He's 6'6, 115kg and does over 10m per second which roughly the same as Rees Zammit. He's a bloody monster and proper scary when he's in full flight 👍
Thumbs up for PART 2
Include Senatla vs Lutumailagi
Surprised Jonny mays try against Ireland in the autumn nations cup didn't get in against gibson park
Beautiful rugby right there
I like your style 😉
Thanks RugbyBeast for inspiration

baker with the classic american football jump cut in the last clip, you love to see it
Awesome compilation, I wish we could see dk Metcalf try his hand at rugby.
When Carlin Isles puts the foot on the gas, we're all done for.
-p.s Conroy's speed is incredible. He's one to look out for!
Thanks for including 7s clips 🚀🚀
Any time
Are the brightly colored boots just magic or what?? Amazing speed!! Nice work putting it together but incredible athletes from dare I say an under appreciated sport well there I said it..
The trick with bright boots is you have to be fast to wear them, otherwise you're just too pathetic to be taken seriously.
So cool videos
4:20 dude tried to punch him👀
3:58 that’s nuts!!! Baker and isles are the fastest guys in world rugby
Good one! Do you guys have Carlin Isles vs Trae Williams?
I wanna see the Super League and NRL put their fastest players in a charity race in an off-season to see who has the faster players and why not raise money for something while they're at it as well.
These dudes man 2 types nfl and rugby got to some how learn there rules loving this game 👍👍👍
There's a video of Samoa Toloa on CZcams beating Perry Baker that would be good for Part 2. Paul Perez vs Dan Norton is also worth a look.
Watching Laumape burn off Barrett after he just switched to the blues was soo good
4:18 that punch
Why though?
4:11 Not just the speed but the acceleration. Damn!

The thing we miss from rugby the most it's not how long it takes to see another match..... but it's the crowd
As an American, heard of Rugby and watched some of it, don't really know much, but that first highlight reminded me of Dk Metcald chasing down Budda Baker in the NFL
What is NFL?
"Hold my beer" haha
rugby players are phenomenal athletes..
This guy definitely knows what rugby is
Baker looks so calm when he runs
Zoom Zoom Zammit
Zooom 🔥🔥🔥
He’s such a beast
Vunibaka chases down Tupoki and Paulse from SA?? if you can find it
Was thinking of that one.
Everyone gangsters until the fastest rugby player catches up with the other fastest rugby player
🔥🔥🔥🔥
1:47 dude got a fright🤣😂🤣😂
Nah he didn’t he didn’t look very shocked and did his best
zammit's pace is in a league of its own
I don't think so. He's young and very fast, but I've seen just as fast or faster players (with better 100m times e.g. Bryan Habana's 100m time is faster). However, in rugby it's not just about 100m speed, it's angle of running, slipperiness, acceleration off mark. He's certainly one to watch in the next few years.
Johnny may was very fatigued when him and LRZ are chasing the ball. Notice farrel matches his speed and Watson is faster
teddy thomas says no.
@@ygs6519 shut up🤣🤣
@@jackcap3409 thomas would effortlessly smoke him on a 100m.
Barret on speed vs aplon in recognition of the intercept so he on half speed lol
Zammit makes running look effortless
He’s a Welshman of course he does 😂🏴
@@georgelewis241 Mad isn't it? How all of our wide players in football and rugby are always rapid.
Baker x Isles = 🔥 🔥
The ref tho...
1:32 For our American friends, this is called a "tackle".
The technique is different from what we do in our football, but it’s the same nonetheless. I don’t understand your point my friend.
🤣
@@jiraiyah8941 As someone raised by an American in Australia and having watched gridiron for 50 years, I have often wished that proper technique was applied instead of shoulder charges aimed at simply bumping someone off balance to effect the down. A hell of a lot of long runs and famous touchdowns never would have happened if the first attempted tackler had grappled the legs out from under the ball carrier.
I agree. Wrapping up the ball carrier definitely would’ve curbed many touchdown attempts. As someone that played American football for over 10 years, I’ll say that we are taught to wrap up and drive through the ball carrier. Also, we do not place our head behind the ball carrier in a sideline tackle like that. The head will be in front. Some people just try their own thing at times with varying levels of success.
I'm intrigued how American footy and Rugby have the same roots. I find American footy wrong on so many levels, too many breaks, dangerous head injuries, too many focal points that you don't know where to look, a simplistic game of throw and catch to the first time observer, the difficulty of not seeing who the player is in all that clobber.....
Jonah Lomu ran around some pretty fast guys in his career.
You're not wrong, deceptively quick
Ran over you mean 😀

Makes me miss playing!
Those US wings are quick!
Reminds me when the fast kid is chasing you in tag
Best game ever 🏉thugs game played by gentlemen 🏉
holding the ball reduces form and slows you down vs someone without the ball ,
also alot of factors come into play . with how fatigued you are before you start running eachother down . only way to confirm the fastest is goal line to goal line . all line up and fresh .
Nice music
I wish I understood what was going on but this is all exciting and fun too watch
3:03 to 3:24 was the perfect time to put that edit it was🔥🔥🔥
Was there to witness bowe v o connor, one of the only parts if the match I remember.. brilliant day and night
Suggestions for part 2:
Ngwayna v habana
Tomasi cama(snr) v gallagher (proper old school stuff)
Thanks for suggestions it will help me ❤️❤️😍
Brilliant suggestions - Ngwayna v habana is the best example of 2 sprinters going for it. There is also Gareth Edwards vs Grant Batty in 1973 (proper old school), Paterson vs Foden (Calcutta Cup 2011), Lamont vs Roberts (Scotland vs Wales 2011).
