Jumbo Jets in Mexico City Airport! (MEX) | KLM and Lufthansa’s “Queen of the Skies”

This short video is dedicated to The Queen of the Skies herself when she flew passengers in and out of Mexico City International Airport. Due to the current world crisis, it is unknown if these giants will continue soaring the skies in commercial passenger service. KLM has announced they’ll be retiring their 747-400 fleet from commercial passenger service, meaning their Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) to Mexico City (MEX) route is now being served by a Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner. Lufthansa, on the other hand, has announced their return to Mexico City from Frankfurt (FRA) with their Airbus A340-300 fleet. Up to the release and writing of this video, it’s still unclear if Lufthansa will bring back their 747’s to Mexico.
Update (June 2nd): Lufthansa has scheduled their return to Mexico City with their Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental starting June 3rd.
The Queen has truly been a favorite to aviation enthusiasts worldwide, with her iconic second deck hump distinguishing her from other airplanes.
Este corto video se dedica a La Reina de los Cielos cuando realizaba servicio regular de pasajeros en el Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México. Debido a la actual crisis mundial, se viene un futuro incierto sobre el destino de estos aviones y si continuarán en servicio comercial de pasajeros. KLM ha anunciado el retiro de su flota de los 747-400, dando lugar a que hoy en día el vuelo que conecta Ámsterdam Schiphol (AMS) con Ciudad de México (MEX) sea operado por un Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner. Por el otro lado, Lufthansa ha anunciado el regreso a Ciudad de México desde Frankfurt (FRA) utilizando so flota de Airbus A340-300. Al momento de la realización de este video, aun no está claro si Lufthansa traerá sus 747’s de regreso a México.
Reporte (2 de Junio): Lufthansa ha anunciado el retorno a Mexico el día 3 de Junio con su Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental.
La Reina de los Cielos ha sido definitivamente un favorito de entusiastas de la aviación a nivel mundial, distinguida de otros aviones por su icónica cubierta superior.
