In about 1992 I wrote to Numan and said “the only importance a musical note has, is to the meaning it gives to the following silence; your music used to have this quality BUT not anymore, listen to the Sisters Of Mercy, they’re doing now what you used to!”. In 1994 I went to see the SoM at the NEC Birmingham, and there sitting two rows in front was Gary, I approached him and said about this pretentious letter I’d written, he said “Oh you wrote that, thank you, it helped!”.
I don’t know whether it was a line to get me to go away BUT………………..

Hi Hope Gemma is alright lots of love to her and the family,I love this track as well it always reminds me of the holiday in Tenerife i put it on audio tape and it got me through that and having sunstroke as well love the album too, thanks again see you soon bye 😊

I'm a fan of the old GN, not familiar with the "Magic" album and most of the later stuff. I liked "Exile", but I wasn't inspired enough to tread deeper into the newer stuff. Should I hear the newer stuff or just stick with the songs I love?
