"Sooooo did the prophet tell ya something about how we can get home?" "We will kill everything that breaths in our proximity from now on." "Oh, I mean he is the prophet, he will know, you heard the captain guys!"
Odysseus from Just A Man killing himself is a twist I haven't seen yet. Ive seen the reverse of Odysseus killing his past self, but I like the implivation here that he was the monster before and had what it takes, so he's returing to that mindset.
when does a man becomes a monster A - 10 years of war? B - losing your best friend C - losing most of your men (from 600 to 43) D - all of the above and more
Hoooooly crap, the symbolism of him throwing away his gentleness, of him shifting between the "monster" and the "man", it's so good! I loved this! You earned a new subscriber!
There’s another well known channel who has been doing animatics for quite some time, they also just did Monster quite recently. In their interpretation they portrayed the same scene of Odysseus watching how his past self threw Hector’s baby. But the difference is that Odysseus kills that past self and once again throws the baby, embracing the monster that he needs to be. In this version it’s more like the past self reprimands the pacifist Odysseus that made them lose everything they had. And instead kills the weak one, in order to not lose what he still has waiting for him. Still becoming a monster but not entirely embracing it, it’s more like killing a part of himself in order to be the monster. I’ve been binging all the animatics I can and it’s amazing how the differences of how people imagine these scenes can change a lot of the nuance and symbolism. If this becomes a musical on a stage I would love to see which interpretation they choose for all major events.
I loved the transiton from the blue of the Underworld to the oranges and red of Troy burning right before he goes up the stairs. To me it really hammered home that a part of Odysseus really did die and that soul is staying in the Underworld where it belongs.
I love that the Ody we follow in the starts gets tossed off the wall, and the 'monster' - the one who threw the baby takes over! A man returns home, but it's no longer him!
What I really like about this animatic is, unlike other animatics, the scenes are directed in a way that you might see in an actual animated movie or tv show. A lot of other animatics don't get this right
Very well done!!! What a beautiful animatic❤ I also love a lot Circe's and Poseidon's designs and the Exchange between Odysseus and himself as a soldier... Chef kiss✨😊
i watched literally all of your EPIC animatics yesterday and i got so excited when i saw this!!!!! i don't normally comment on anything, but you have such a beautiful art style and the expressions of everyone and the way you had soldier odysseus throw other ody off the balcony i was dying inside, THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say I'm honestly so glad for Epic: the musical's existence, because we get to experience art pieces and animations from so many different artists and their perspective and spin on the story.
I abaolutly LOVE the twist that his soldier self throws his kinder self over the edge and symbolizes that the soldier that would do anything to get home is back!
2:42 I absolutely love this transition and basically it’s Trojan Odysseus’s ruthlessness overtaking his mindset!! This is honestly my favorite animatic of Monster!! 😊
Your the only animator/artist I've seen so far to actually show the deaths of Polites and The Infant and if it weren't for the fact that I'm already subscribed I would of subscribed, I love your art style!
Absolutely amazing! I love the careful use of colors depending on the scene and oh my gosh Circe's is stunning and Poseidon look epic! Cyclops scene was definitely filled with the level of brutality you'd imagine but lord did it it harder when you get to see the Polities last moments. Odysseus literally fighting himself over what he has to become to make it home with him as he is now and him when he dropped the infant off the wall felt like such a good portrayal of his internal conflict. This is one of my favorite songs and this just feels like such a beautiful representation of it! Amazing job!
Dude. That was the best interpretation I have ever seen of that song. That was excellent, very creative, especially with his past holding him the knife to his throat. Well done!
There was no reason you had to go out there and make one of the best Epic Animatics, but here we go. Just the creative ideas and symbolism just elevate this piece. I also just got to say you make me absolutely wince at 1:12 like ouch it makes Polites' death feel so painful. Another big compliment I have to give is that it feels like you aren't shaking the screen as much as in previous animatics, I really appreciate that.
Also, what a brillant idea making the lyric "oh ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" as the intro of Monster Odysseus into the song and "I lost my best friend..." the start of a conversation between Odysseuses (Odysseui?). It's a wonderfully take and compliments the change in the music so well. - two different musical deliveries (lyrical to almost rapping), two different men. So creative. Bravo
I think this animation is the best one because it shows how Monster Ody kills the Man Ody and the flashback to the one and only time he had become a Monster before is soooo good
1:31 idk why but I just really like how Poseidon is depicted grabbing the water. Poseidon is the god of the sea so it only makes sense for him to be able to manipulate water with such ease. This is so much more creative than moving water via some invisible force
The fact that it is himself from TROY and not his "current self" to be the one to "kill" the "good" in him is so good!!! As that's when he considers himself "most monsterous".
I love the symbolism of him throwing himself over balcony. While the music hits drop another infant from a wall. To symbolize that he's killing another innocent here killing his own in a sense
AMAZING. All the characters have great designs and the conflict between humane/open armed Ody and monster warrior Ody was👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼perfection. Love how monster Ody pushed open armed Ody down the wall just like he did with Astyanax. Chills, literal chills
I love his past pushing his current self off the wall because it makes sense. He started out like that cause that is how athena taught him but after polites death you can see him change to become softer to keep his friend alive so now he is coming back to being a monster
Yo, that symbolism of Odysseus' past/more war-time self literally 'killing' his present self is one of the most imaginative takes on the song I've seen, that's good stuff! Really solid throughout too, with the pacing and imagery.
"Sooooo did the prophet tell ya something about how we can get home?"
"We will kill everything that breaths in our proximity from now on."
"Oh, I mean he is the prophet, he will know, you heard the captain guys!"
Eurylochus - FINALLY! OK guys, we're up, we're off, and away we go.
HOW DARE YOU MAKE ALL THE VILLAINS LOOK SO COOL!! The Cyclops scene was brutal, Circe was utterly stunning and Poseidon was just awesome.

@@hellboundchaoscommand7567 how could i forget elpenor
don't forget to add killing a baby to the list that WILL turn you into a monster
I like how he throws himself over the thing....that sounds kind of crazy. But you know what I mean! The symbolism!
Quick thing it’s a balcony
@@Lilbroriley I prefer the term "thing" more, honestly.

What a twist, to have his younger self push his older self off the wall. I love It.
Odysseus throwing his gentleness over the balcony made me almost cry, this is an amazing animatic.

NOO POLITES 😭😭🥞 anyways YOUR CIRCE IS GORGEOUS OMGGGG... also ur poseidon... i can fix him trust...
😂 nah Poseidon going to need a lot of fixing lol

In this world, the cruel and savage reign supreme. You did a fantastic job capturing Odysseus inner turmoil of coming to this conclusion.
SO UNDERRATED!! 💙💙💙

*shivers* Man the detail of each line n the change of the river of souls to a sea of fire
Amazing
I love everyone's animatic interpretations of every song, but this one definitely gave me chills near the end. Just well done!

"And if I've gotta drop another infant from a wall in an instant so we all don't die. Then I'll become the monster!" throws self off a ledge.
Beautiful artwork! I got chills when ‘he’ was falling back into fire. Great work 💜👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love this song because of how raw his emotions are. You did an incredible job showing that
Okay I love how simple but symbolic it is ❤ one of the best I've seen
Scylla: Aw, that's cute...
ROW FOR YOUR LIIIIIIIIIIVES
The "SO WHAT?" but with tears in his eyes- ahh
I am in love with your interpretations of the story! Everything you've drawn is stunning
okay i think i found my favorite animatic for monster
Wow. This is such an amazing take. Turning it into a semi-duet with the Trojan Odysseus. Nice interpretation.
oh this is VERY good, i loved the scene in astyanax's room!
1:31 idk why but I just really like how Poseidon is depicted grabbing the water. Poseidon is the god of the sea so it only makes sense for him to be able to manipulate water with such ease. This is so much more creative than moving water via some invisible force
Dudes jawline is out here cutting universes
This is amazing!!! The fact that the soldier Odysseus kills the old Odysseus in order to become the Monster is crazy!!!
The fact that it is himself from TROY and not his "current self" to be the one to "kill" the "good" in him is so good!!! As that's when he considers himself "most monsterous".
Poseidon is making me feel butterflies in my stomach 💀btw, your art style is so beautiful!!
I like how you made it seem like he threw his loving self over and the monster him took over
👌🏾😩
I love the symbolism of him throwing himself over balcony. While the music hits drop another infant from a wall. To symbolize that he's killing another innocent here killing his own in a sense
This was awesome! Plus I really love your art style. Keep up the amazing work!
Underrated mych? Like how is it possible for sonethung like this not to be popular, is the youtube algorithm sleeping?
Dang, this was so cool! The red and golds especially made the scene in Troy so impactful. He ain’t messing around now!
I love, The internal fight! Him fighting to keep his humanity, and ending with him Embracing the darkness
AMAZING. All the characters have great designs and the conflict between humane/open armed Ody and monster warrior Ody was👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼perfection. Love how monster Ody pushed open armed Ody down the wall just like he did with Astyanax. Chills, literal chills
I LOVE the color palete!
Yep me too
This is so wow😳 like so Epic!!!!!! Great work keep it up!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🏒
Wow! This is amazing. Good job!
3:17-3:22 damn! the switch was awesome, it's like he's the same outside but the inside was already replaced by something monstrous!! So cool!!
I love his past pushing his current self off the wall because it makes sense. He started out like that cause that is how athena taught him but after polites death you can see him change to become softer to keep his friend alive so now he is coming back to being a monster
OH. MY. GOD!!! I can't!! This is perfect!!! The Polyphemus scene sent shivers down my spine!
Circe and Poseidon are the most beautiful beings I’ve ser my sights on holy shit
Yo, that symbolism of Odysseus' past/more war-time self literally 'killing' his present self is one of the most imaginative takes on the song I've seen, that's good stuff! Really solid throughout too, with the pacing and imagery.
AAAAHHH THIS IS AMAZING
*Deontology within the group; consequentialism on the outside*
man meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it
Damn for a man that's been stranded at sea for a decade my guy's not been slacking when it comes to working out, look at them muscles! 💪💪
Excellent
all i can think of is the percy jackson and the olympians books
EDIT: if you can animate, i would animate this if i were you. it would look SICK!
this is getting very creepy and dark very quickly
Amazing
Is it just me or did his eyes changes to his soldier self after he push his older self into the fire?
Bravo.
2:44-2:50 Colombians when the cartel offers them a job:
