Wow as a male writer I've been out here interacting with actual women, asking them questions and observing how they behave in different scenarios to help me write realistic women characters and you just effortlessly grace us with this magnum opus. How am i supposed to compete with that?
@@bonniedykstra6722 Web fiction. Web fiction has male "authors" with a clearly heavy incel slant... Published books also have a male fantasy of lots of women wanting a main male character... Male authors tend to write emotional men as showing love, lust, anger, and resting bitch face, but they write the female characters as portraying those plus a gambit of possible histrionics and hysteria... If you look for it, you see it, and you realize few male authors write realistic characters, and most write fantasy male (of their ideal self) and fantasy females (with stereotypes for lawlz "realism"). There are a few male and female authors who have very human characters. The readers aren't noticing and that reveals a lot about the audience too.
I swear men writing women: "I'm NoT LikE tHe OthErS" Women writing men: "I'm literally one of the best men who is probably a psychopath villian with daddy issues and a traumatic past who has a redemption arc and is in an enemies to lovers romance, and is so unbelievably hot you will definitely fall for" 💀
Sylvester stallone wrote Adrian in Rocky as a shy and unconfident girl who was oppressed by her older brother but who had a beautiful heart. Rocky who was just a local nobody who lived in poverty and even though he appeared intimidating, was actually a gentle giant, felt a connection with Adrian not because of how she looked or how she projected in a sexual way, but because he could relate with her sense of not being noticed in the world, like himself. She, in turn, began to feel the same way, when she realised he liked her for who she is and was less interested in her physical projection. Together, they brought out the best in each other, gave each other confidence, and projected each others lives beyond what they may have done separately. None of it is based on pushing sexyness onto the audience. The moral of the story is that men can write female characters beautifully, and women can write male charachters beautifully, but studio execs are less likely to take risks as they know sex sells. But this is not just a male phenomenon. Women are all to aware sex sells, hence the huge success of Onlyfans, burlesque, strip clubs, and so on. So, if we want people written in a classy way to be the new norm, rather than to be rare like Rocky and Adrian, we all need to stop giving money to films that put sex as their main selling point. But we won't, as it sells for a reason, because men and women love sex. Hence why Greta Gerwig made damn well sure Ryan Gosling spent most of Barbie with his abs out and why 50 Shaded of Grey packed out cinema screens worldwide with horny woman.

“Rachel wasn’t like the other girls. They all wore their cute little pink dresses and high heels. Not Rachel though…She preferred jeans and tank tops over uncomfortable dresses. Despite her, carefree style, every boy wanted her. They would claw at a iron door just to be with her. She didn’t wear makeup but her beauty was radiant, gleaming. Her smile lit up a room.”
“She usually hated parties. She preferred to go home and read a few novels. Tonight though, was different. She was feeling wild that night. She walked into the party and all eyes were on her. Her blue orbs scanned the room, trying to find a quiet spot to settle down into. Her blue orbs land on him. His beautiful hot chocolate colored hair and bright, green orbs. She could help but let out a gasp. “Who is that man?!” She thinks to herself”

"Complete silence fell over the room. It was, like they were the only persons existing in the room. Everyone stared at them. Until suddenly a girly girl in a pink girl-dress approached HIM and tried to offer him a drink in a pathetic attempt to gain his attention. Did she not realize that he was Rachel's soulmate?
To show how totally not jealous she was, Rachel turned. The place was crowded but once she passed a table, three guys stood up and offered her a seat. She smiled and wanted to take a seat, when suddenly an orgasm-like feeling stroke her. It came from a hand lying on her shoulder.
Rachel turned and saw HIM again, right in front of her. He asked: "May I ask for a dance with you, my lady?" His manly man-voice vibrated in her breasts and she nearly swooned.
She laughed like an angel and threw her long, golden, silky hair back. Six guys in the background passed out. Only HE - a real alpha male - was able to withstand her strong feminity."

I swear men writing women: "I'm NoT LikE tHe OthErS"

Soo accurate.
I couldn't tell my friend that studios will throw him in the dumpster with this type if script.
Hence why Greta Gerwig made damn well sure Ryan Gosling spent most of Barbie with his abs out and why 50 Shaded of Grey packed out cinema screens worldwide with horny woman.
this is so underrated omfg
