They said how they hate them because they changed it from Harry being the one in the town searching for his daughter and introduced the mother because a father wouldn't do that only a mother loves her child enough to go through all that for her.

Personally, the first one was only a modicum better than this one. Neither of the two were good adaptations of Silent Hill in the end. The problem is that Silent Hill is not an easy franchise to adapt to film. While I agree the first film is a decent attempt, it also failed in so many ways. Critical ways. Some things just can't be transferred between mediums properly. Silent Hill is and example of such a property.
I got Silent Hill 3 for a birthday gift as a teen and it had the soundtrack on a separate disk. I absolutely loved their music. They always managed to make good music. And I played the game so many times. And was so excited they were making another movie. But then I saw the trailer and then some scenes and I was disappointed. I never played the first game but watched the movie and loved it so now I understand the people who were upset with the first movie not being as good as the game.
I've seen the first movie like 5 times and I think it's the one if not the best survival horror movie ever. What ruined the possibility of a 3rd movie was the 2nd one that really sucked.

There's literally no way a movie will ever be as good or better than the game it's based on (games have a lot more runtime to develop and get you invested, plus they're more personal and immersive experiences). However, the first SH movie was brilliant and by far my fav game based movie. Even with the plot changes, it still managed to feel like SH and I appreciate that a lot. However, I think those changes made adapting the 3rd game even harder. And at some point they just stopped trying and made it a 3D gimmick film. Which is sad cause SH3 is my fav game in the trilogy

I feel permanently trapped in some time around 2009 or so. It's like the world stopped advancing past that era. Gaming, movies, music, even world events seem to be dead since then. No change, no improvement really, nothing new or exciting. Everything feels wrong today compared to back then. I wish if there is a heaven, it lets you relive different time periods so I can relive the 90s and 00s again.
The video Isn't great but works better than the movie since the plot doesn't make sense in the video game context. But honestly making all the scenery and props for a music video would have been really expensive. So just the music is really good lol

I honestly agree , the actress was amazing even Claudia’s actress did a phenomenal job. But this is a prime example of how the script and directors have a massive influence on the movie. The actors can only do so much even if they are Oscar winning actors.

I'm a DIE-HARD Silent Hill fan but even I didn't really know what to expect when it came to this movie. I had somewhat high hopes considering how incredible the first film adaptation was from 2006 (despite being slightly flawed) but considering I saw it in theaters when I was only 10 years old, it blew me away. I wanted to love this one just as much as I did the first one but was disappointed. However I still didn't think it was as terrible as everyone else was saying, nor did I loathe it. Sure it was even more flawed than the first one, but at least it still has some redeeming qualities to it. From what I read, the entire production was troubled from beginning to end and the director had huge struggles with trying to film it in 3D (which is quite common). Not to mention the script had to literally be rewritten on set, and more than a couple things had to be changed, etc. So it wasn't entirely her fault per say nor was it the fault of the actors either because they certainly tried to do their best.

Yep, this is from the French Blu-rays. Sadly the US Blu-rays had no extras, so I imported the French discs that had commentary, making ofs, and surprisingly I found this! Very cool. I also really enjoyed the movie despite the critics, Adelaide as Heather was definitely the best part.
I don't know why but I love the fact they got her to lip sync to this. Seriously, ALL you have to do is watch this on an off contrasted tv/monitor (where maybe a baseball hit it) and the movie gets all the more darker and looks JUST like the game.

For some reason I can't stop watching this, its actually really cool.
I don't know why but I love the fact they got her to lip sync to this. Seriously, ALL you have to do is watch this on an off contrasted tv/monitor (where maybe a baseball hit it) and the movie gets all the more darker and looks JUST like the game.
