I'm looking forward to your reaction of Ganon vs Drac. I'm not going to spoil anything but i can tell you that it's leagues better then Ganondorf's first episode. Honestly, i love that episode so much that i've made it a tradition to watch it every year for halloween (since it first came out around halloween 2019).
I love that battle too it’s won of my all time favorites. Just wish the outcome was different even though the ending was obvious lol

Chuck Huber is a much better voice actor for Hiei than whoever they had for the battle. He was so talented that near the end of the series he knew the character so well he could just read the script and, without watching the characters mouth, match it perfectly in a single take.
It was the same guy who voiced Natsu from his fight with Ace.
Edit: Howard Wang was the guy who voiced Hiei here.

@@ThomasGabrielWhite True but this is Death Battle aka Todd couldn’t reprise his role as Natsu in his fight with Ace due to legal reasons meaning you gotta deal with Howard Wang.
I am looking forward to the next Death Battle. it's one of my all time favorites due to mainly the fight. it looks so good and has one of the best victory lines.

Yah this is one of DB's more contested recent match ups, and plenty of "Naruto" fans have provided counter arguments for Sasuke's win. Having not seen "Naruto" before hand, I was also rooting for Sasuke initially, and I do remember feeling "checked out" when they went over the stats of the tree explosion. In retrospect, though, I've come to admire the episode for being one of their unexpected results, and for introducing me to "Yu Yu Hakusho" - which is a really fun show that I personally like more than "Naruto" in terms of pacing and characters (although full disclosure, I've still only seen up to the start of Shippuden).
You have to remember that the world in Yu Yu Hakusho is in another dimension from Earth and is considered much sturdier than planet Earth. Most people who disagree aren't considering that fact. Demon World in YYH is like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber of Dragon Ball Z.
I think when you combine near immunity to fire with how durable he already is it means the fire couldn't land a death blow

You really should check out Yu Yu Hakusho! It is an anime classic, and it only has 4 seasons, so it is a very manageable binge watch. :)
The anime cuts out the final arc though.

Basically Yu Yu Hakusho was Bleach before Bleach was a thing.
I disagree how Hiei can defend against Sasuke's soul attack because Ghost and Soul aren't exactly synonymous even if they're similar and in a lot of cases used interchangeably because there is an arc in Yu Yu Hakusho where we see souls come out of people's body and it's helpless without that astral form (ghost), and do you know who the first person had their helpless soul come out? it was Hiei.
Yep. Naruto is an alien descendant. Sasuke is as well. You see Kaguya, an alien that created chakra, had two children and the younger son Hagoromo had two sons of his own, Indra and Asura. The two brothers had conflicting ideologies on how the world should end the cycle of war and ended up trapping themselves in a cycle through reincarnation. Indra reincarnated into Madara Uchiha and Asura reincarnated into Hashirama Senju, two founders of the Leaf village, Hashirama being the first Hokage. After Madara and Hashirama died they reincarnated into their descendants, Indra/Madara reincarnating into Sasuke and Asura/Hashirama reincarnating into Naruto. This technically also means Naruto and Sasuke were destined to be frenemies since before they were born.
It's not really that hard to keep up with Hiei's feats. They stated he's on par with Yusuke and then showed all the crazy shit Yusuke survived, heavily implying Hiei could do the same.

They gave Yusuke a filler feat. The whole punching and causing an explosion was not in the manga. The creator of yu yu hakusho did not write that story. In fact in the manga the whole tournament got skipped. They didn't give Sasuke any filler feats tho...
The canonicity of anime vs the manga of Yu Yu Hakusho is always kinda weird because the anime got ahead of the manga, but instead of doing a filler arc, the anime just wrote their own ending of the series (as the arc was going to be the last one anyway).
Then when the manga was finally finished, the creator decided not to re-hash the same events already seen in the anime, but still went along with a brief summary of that arc to basically say "what happened in the anime happened in the manga, too" and then he could move on to his own continuation and ending.
Thats not something he had to do, he could've just continued the story how he originally was planning to, but he did it anyway because he liked that part of the story well enough to include it
tl;dr - Just because the tournament got skipped over in the manga doesn't mean its non-canon
I guess I just don't know how people determine that filler means non-canon. It's just another continuity.
They go over it's inclusion in this episodes Q and A; Basically, the explosion was used as evidence to support planet level statements made in the manga and anime. There have been planet level statements relating to "Naruto" characters as well, but in general, their wording is a bit less defined and harder to attach to a physical example. Also, they did add a technically non canon feat for Sasuke from the Ninja Storm games, mainly to support his scaling to Naruto.

Hiei directly scales to Yusake because they can fight each other equally and are in the same class.
This one was absolutely right at the time, but barely a week or two after its release, the Boruto series buffed Sasuke to a level of power Hiei can't contend with. The rest of the logic in the episode still checks out

Nope, Hiei still destroys Sasuke as Sasuke lost a lot of his powers in Boruto. So what you just said is a moot point.
When this one came out, I though Sasuke would win as well but I completely underestimated Hiei in terms of his feats and scaling especially scaling him to the feat that Yusuke did in his fight with Yomi when they did that explosion on top of the tree and yeah that feat alone made me think that Ichigo VS Yusuke is not a good idea. But yeah the next fight with Ganondorf and Castlevania's Dracula, this is the first fight that was done not by the In-House 3D team, it's done by DevilArtemis as he's known for the Cell VS series on his channel since he does 3D animation via Source Filmmaker.

This is definitely one of the ones they got very wrong, a lot of Sasuke and Hiei’s abilities and stats were misrepresented, particularly those of the former. That big explosion feat isn’t canon to the manga and was miscalculated by the researchers, which was proven a while back. Hiei at best is only a match for a lowballed Sasuke in power, and his supposed counters to Sasuke’s abilities are either dubious or flat out not good enough. Even with that explosion feat and the level Death Battle put it at, Sasuke actually scales to characters and feats that are even stronger.
Without getting into specifics, Death Battle has kind of realized this too, as seen with some specific, newer episodes.

When Shippuden ended. Sasuke is Boruto’s teacher now if I remember correctly. Haven’t kept up with Naruto in years.
man, you poor child. you hate to sit through Naruto Filler. how'd you survive? once the "try to get emo Sasuke back" arc ended, it was just filler after filler after filler till Shippuden came out and that's kind of when i was losing interest in Naruto a bit and that was before all the craziness in Shippuden. like Itachi was somehow a good brother because he's family sucked, Pain was the best part, the main baddie wasn't even the final boss and said final boss was a hollow alien god chick who happens to be the great great grandmother of Sasuke and Naruto, who happen to be some like incarnations of Ninja Jesuses. It got too stupid and too wild for me that the big war at the end just felt like a "just get it over with already" for me cause everything i liked about the show was dead!
and that's when One Piece picked me up from my dying body and helped me.
