I worked at bob evans sausage packing place… horrible, so fast pace nonstop for 8 hours. Over and over and over hoping a machine breaks to just get a second. If one little thing goes wrong like a box doesn’t open right for like 10 seconds you have done created a pile that will ether take forever to clear or you have to work so fast that it makes you want to quit on the spot

I had talked myself into the job saying, “it’s time to grow up and take life serious, I need this $14 an hour.” I made it halfway through night 2 before I went insane and started maniacally, laughing to myself, because I knew for 100% certainty that I would never step foot in that factory again after I left that shift. It’s a different type of person that can stand in the same spot, doing the same motion, with no distraction to keep their mind occupied for 40 hours a week. In my opinion that’s the definition of a hell job. I’ve done roofing in July, shoveled snow in the Great Lakes region, done all kinds of horrible manual labor, but nothing was as torturous as that conveyer belt job. Never again
Learn to work from home brother, I felt the same way about all my warehouse/assembly line/etc jobs until I got a WFH position selling Internet and TV online to people who call into me. Best time I've ever had working so far 👽
But I'll never go back to those lines either, awful work. It really puts a perspective on why you experience so much drama when you work those places. They're losing their minds standing at those conveyor belts all that time. I will never go back, I have a son to watch grow up and a chair to sit in and a computer that gets me paid. They can keep their silly paper factory sludge work.

@@stevenbedrosian7310 I think you overestimate the costs of those components but the 3000% was hyperbolic. Nevertheless, I can guarantee you that it probably costs them 1/6 of the retail price to make.
I like to see that a big company like this still allows their employees to have a little bit of fun and add their own personal touch put found a way to do it in a safe constructive way
This is what I love most about makers mark knowing it was a person that dipped the bottle when I peel that satisfying wax strip off to open it also I’m a heavy hand guy I like the bottles with the full neck in wax looks like a candle lol

I’ve seen multiple inconsistencies with the dipping such as stopping at a different point on different bottles, and they don’t let it drip down they try to keep it level. They also use volunteers every so often solely for dipping.
I went their for a tour last month and got to dip my own bottle (after purchase of course 😂) and it was a cool experience. Also got to see them dip on the production line. Really neat and definitely recommend if you haven’t been there!!

My Great Uncle Peter McLaughlin was a millionaire CEO of Union Paper in the 80s. I took care of him in his final years and as much money as the man had, he loved his 3 glasses of Maker's Mark each night

Like 6 years ago I went to the makers mark distillery and hand dipped my own bottle. Was a super fun time. A moment I'll never forget.
It’s a shame they no longer do the corks and it’s now a plastic screw on lid.
That type of ish will have me looking for a new distiller, you wanna be cheap and greedy I’ll take my money elsewhere
