I bought some uggs and then I researched it and I couldn't look at my uggs the same. I always thought they just shave them , but then I read about the skinning. It killed me. I am not a vegan, just a vegetarian, but my heart was in so much pain when I figured this out!

The part when you said about the cows being cared nicely, I'm sorry to say that your wrong about that too. Cows are raised in factory farms and they are beaten and given steroids to grows :(

There are so many faux options, you absolutely ARE NOT limited to animal skins and fur.
I have 3 pairs of uggs and I am not taking them back
You see (directed at the comment below mine) it's not just the wool that is cut from sheep to manufacture Uggs. Workers also cut off the sheep's skin (think of uggs like sheep skin turned inside out so that the fur is on the inside) before the sheep is slaughtered for its meat. That's right before it is slaughted, it's still alive when the sheep's skin is scraped from its flesh. To cut down on manufacturing costs the sheep are not put to sleep before the skinning, instead they are tied tightly to metal posts. After the sheep are skinned they are put onto ships where they must travel long hours without food or water to slaughter houses (they are brought to a slaughter house because they will mostly likely die from infection before their skin grows back). I would also like to mention that the sheep in which are used in the production of Uggs are not native to Australia (they are from countries with cool climates like Russia) and many of these sheep die of heat exhaustion. Please don't let the media educate you. You have a brain, use it! Research companies before you give them your hard earned dollars.

There are more cows being killed for leather and lived a much harsher life then the sheep.

No sometimes they dont have to kill the animal. They can just trim the fur and use the trimed fur for the boots ._____. °^° but idk if they do that for uggs but on some other boots they do and purses.

As a shearer and sheep owner I can say that sheep are not raised like that, in Australia anyway. A sheep's life begins in a large paddock and they are only placed in pens for shearing time and crutching (with exception to mulesing and vaccinations etc.)

400 million fewer animals where slaughtered in 2014 compared to 2007 because the demand for animal products is going down! Never feel like you can't make a difference because every purchase matters :) The sheep have already been killed for those UGGS but they only make as many shoes as needed to supply for the demand.
I think that as long as u r aware of where your fashion comes from, then u should deffinetly have the opinion to buy them or not. She is slightly contridicting her decsions, i agree, but she's educated at least on what happened before her boots were bought. I have a couple pairs of boots myself and I LOVE THEM, but i understand and looked up what happened in order for me to have them, but i still made the decision to buy more pairs.

I have eight pairs of Toms thinking I was making a difference, and now I have realized what they are really made out of. I thank you! I had a friend say don't get them, but since it is right around Christmas and I have already asked for them I can't stop that and the funny thing is she was wearing real leather boots! So thank you for being a strong leader and animal lover because I can't stand to see animals suffer and we have to take a stand! I would love to see more videos about what brands treat there animals with disrespect.Thank you
I've been eating a vegan diet for 18 years. It is quite possible to live a life that does not exploit animals. There is no need to beat yourself up about it, or allow anyone else to beat you up about it. You are trying your best, you are loving, you are kind, you are gentle, you are powerful, you are capable, you are strong, you can believe in yourself more, you do change the world with every choice that you make, trust your intuition, you know what is right for you. Young people like you will make the would a little better. I do not use any animal products for this reason but it took me a lot longer than you to be aware of how things are made. You are an inspiration. Just a tip, if you could make a shorter video Im sure it would get more views and get the message across to more people.

I can not even read the comments. People are so ignorant. You CAN do something. You CAN avoid animal products. There are clothes, beds, shoes, purses and food that does not come from animals. I am vegan, I have been for 10 years. I have avoided animal products for 10 years and still have a bed to sleep on, clothes to wear, and food to eat. I even have makeup and other beauty products with no animal ingredients and are not tested on animals. Now are there some things at this point that are unavoidable depending on where you live, yes. I know there are some animal ingredients in the tires on my car. I do not live in a city where I can walk everywhere, but if everyone refused to support these cruel and unnecessary torturous practices, then the small byproducts used for things would disappear altogether. Choose compassion, go vegan.

I have purple and blue bailey bows and they are real but.... sheep are not killed, they shave them, clean the wool, dye it, then design them. Trust me. And my profile pic is my uggs. It's sheep SKIN, not sheep fur. They cut the skin off of the sheep, killing it. It's not just fur. They openly say sheep skin on the website, it's not that hard to figure out. Do your research.

Tbh it's not really worth worrying about. I get that you don't like how sheeps are treated. But when you put your foot into your uggs, your not putting it into a dead sheep. Your putting it into wool. The skin is cleaned properly and on the outside. I wouldn't worry.

This is so true and I just bought some uggs for my mom and my mom loved them they looked nice but I thought to myself and said she's wearing a momma sheep daughter/son sheep and I was disgusted so I returned them and and imagine if u were a sheep u would not want anyone to kill u like that for some boots it's just horrific
Yeah but the sheep who get slaughter we eat too. So its not a waste. That's what the sheep are bread for. And why the heck would you buy them if you have such a big problem. Sure it is sad but that's what we use them for. But think of the Natives and how they used to slaughter animals for clothes! That's what we still do today.
the wool and skin for uggs is not a byproduct they are used for only their wool and after 2-4 years are sent to the middle east and painfully/ consciencely slaughtered if they don't die in their own droppings on the boat ride to the middle east

Another fact is the sheep video isn't just for uggs it's for sweaters, rugs, pillows, blankets, anything made with wool basically!
