  • Chef Alyssa came up in the Charlotte culinary scene and has witnessed it evolve over her career. In 2013, she and her husband opened Chef Alyssa's Kitchen (CAK) to teach others how to cook farm fresh, restaurant quality meals in their own home.
Starting out in Atherton Mill near the farmer's market was a huge inspiration for the menus she created. They often changed week by week based on what the local farms had. Still today, buying local ingredients is central to the experience of CAK, allowing students to really taste a difference from what is available at the grocery store.
On top of cooking classes, CAK caters and does family meal pickup orders.

Chef Alyssa's Kitchen is such a cool place. While interviewing Alyssa it was so abundantly clear how important teaching is to her, how local food is fundamental to her operations and that she has a very giving spirit! I am biased, but this one was awesome!
