One of the few artists that I openly cried when he passed. He was a part of my youth. ☮❤
He was always so emotionally raw, pouring himself completely into his songs.
Asia & BJ, you'll love his "Feelin' Alright", "You Can Leave Your Hat On", "The Letter"!! His sings with his body and soul!!! 2 of his songs down, many more to go for you!!
Yes. Except. This is his best, I think.
I always cry at this song. When I was pregnant with my third baby they were doing ultra sounds every 3 weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Did he have spina bifida, was he hydrocephalic, did he have kidneys. Every ultra sound brought a new problem. When he was born 3 weeks early there were 5 pediatric specialists waiting in the delivery room with us. He was 5 lb. 9 oz. and they couldn't find anything wrong with him except he was very high jaundice. His skin was so white it was kind of see through, he was bald and he had an allergic reaction to the eye drops that made his eyes swell shut. He was the ugliest little thing ever but he was Perfect. This was our special song and I played it all the time for him, he loved it.
Your babe was a big miracle ok You are bleesed
Beautiful
How old is he now? My son was born 6 weeks early with a hole in his heart. He had open heart surgery which saved his life but paralyzed his throat and right eye. He was on a feeding tube for seven months. He looked like a robotic alien. But he was beautiful to us. Eventually all his nerves healed. He learned to swallow and his eye got stronger. He's now a six year old full of energy and in the 80th percentile. . He's my warrior.
@@Lopyswine He is 34 now, and it still comes back to me. He is tall and strong. I love that your little boy got better. Thank you for sharing.
Written by Billy Preston
Joe Cocker was magnificent, there will never be another singer like him, one of our original English Artistes that performed at Woodstock !!!!!!!
Joe Cocker recorded this song in 1974 and it became his signature song, when I was 14 I was watching a late show and Joe Cocker sang this song, he was dating a woman named Eileen Webster in 1963 and they had broken up after in 1976 he had a hard time with the last 3 words of the song and cried so you know I cried myself to sleep that night so this song made me cry for yrs after that.
The beauty in the simplicity of this song... straight to the point and touches your soul
I grew up with Joe Cocker's music. He was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice & dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements. He recorded a few Beatles' songs "With A Little Help From My Friends", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" & "Something". Other hits were "You Are So Beautiful", "Up Where We Belong" (a duet with Jennifer Warnes), "Delta Lady", "Feelin' Alright", "Cry Me A River", "The Letter" etc.
Most of us from that era did not look at him when he performed.
I would never do a Woodstock ever again, but the memories of being there are unforgettable. He did this song a the concert of many, but his version of With a Little Hellp From my Friends was, once in the day, again latter that night when his back--up singers were flown in. This was written by Billy Preston, Joe didd it live from the tv music show, The Midnight Special, and went to as many concerts as I could get to. He will be missed.
RIP one of the legends !
I've watched him sing this before, but I still cry like a baby when he gets into it. Listen to Joe's gorgeous cover of "I Think It's Going to Rain Today".
When I was about 11 years old I watched a late show and Joe performed this, he had just broken up with his girlfriend of 13 yrs and at the end of the song he barely make it and cried through the ending I remember crying like a baby for about an hour. He does an amazing When A Man Loves A Woman. ❤ Joe Cocker
Young Joe? Check out his version of "With A Little Help From My Friends" at Woodstock...iconic!
For a really fun video (an older Joe) do "You Can Leave Your Hat On" Official video. You won't be able to hold still to that one.💙☮💙
Joe was the man. Nobody even came close to him. I've been so sad since he passed. He was incredible and I love him. ❤
Every song Joe covers he owns. I first heard Mad Dogs and Englishmen when I was in Nam and been a fan ever since. Rolled many a joint listening to "She came in through the Bathroom window "and Delta Lady
Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys also wrote part of this song. He never asked for or got credit, but he sang this song at every Beach boys concert until he died in 1983.
Joe and Janis pour more emotions into their songs than seems humanly possible! Younger Joe? Nah you know he aged like fine wine and only got better! "You can leave your hat on"
I'd throw Stevie Ray Vaughan in there too.
@@bobdonovan34 Yeah even more so guitar playing wise than singing for me (GOAT with Jimi) but no shortage on both fronts. His vocal runs on Texas Flood are so damn cool
@@bobdonovan34 and beth hart.
Joe sang from his soul!
Every man should sing this to his woman!
One epic beautiful song by the late JOE COCKER. This was our wedding song when I married my wife of 40 years. Still brings tears to our eyes.
Congrats!
I met the writer, Billy Preston...in Avenal California. Spent the day with him. What an experience
It's long been rumored that "You Are So Beautiful" was co-written by Billy Preston and Dennis Wilson (of the Beach Boys). In many mid to late 1970s Beach Boys concerts, a spot was saved for Wilson to perform this song, with just a piano backing. He'd usually dedicate the song to the audiences.
As the story goes... Billy Preston was out in Laurel Canyon. He was attending a party and Dennis Wilson was there. Dennis asked Billy to come down to the basement with him to listen to a song that he had written. He asked Billy to fill in the piano for him. Dennis liked the piano and told Billy he could use it. Billy Preston goes to Joe Cocker and tells him that he has to do a new song that he had written. And didn't tell Joe that Dennis really had written the song and that he had just filled in some of the piano.
Oh my Asia and BJ, thank you for doing this beautiful song by Joe. Please try You Can Leave Your Hat On or Unchain My Heart (videos). Thanks for being so good to my ears.
Asia amd BJ are the best. Their analysis of the music is far superior to almost all other reax vids. Thank you guys. Appreciate the work you put in these.
I sang this to all my children after they were born. So every time I hear this song I tear up, such emotion
❤
I love how he sings from his soul, everytime he does anything, he's mesmerizing, loved ya'lls reaction, hope ya'll have a blessed day 🙏
It’s so Raw so intense , sadly missed Joe thank you for your amazing talent we lived the joy and pain with you
LOVE And Respect ❤ Thanks Post Delta Lady Pure Joe Cocker Raw LOVE YOU Guys🌹👌✌️👍💝
One of my all time favorite performances
My favorite Joe Cocker number is "Now That The Magic Is Gone" sung with every ounce of emotion the man can muster. A beautiful song about the shock and pain of the breakup.
Beautiful song written by Billy Preston and Bruce Carleton Fisher.
"breathes life into the song". You're the best reactors. You get it, you feel it. Cocker did lots of great songs, Woman to Woman, High Time We Went, The Letter, Feelin' Alright, lots to choose from.
Stellar! This song was huge in the seventies. Joe Cocker really puts his heart into it. When you're ready for more from Joe Cocker, check out his cover of the Box Tops 1967 classic "The Letter" from his 1970 Mad Dogs & Englishmen album. Rita Coolidge, Donna Washburn, Claudia Lennear and others provide the backing vocals and Bobby Keys lays down a sax solo for the ages. Fire!
Thank you. I love Joe Cocker singing Jimmy Webb's "The Moon's a Harsh Mistress" or Randy Newman's "Guilty".
No one has or ever will capture the emotions he delivered!
I heard a story about a guy and his wife going to their favorite bar. The reason it was their favorite bar was because it had their favorite jukebox. And that jukebox had their favorite song. Joe Cocker's 'You Are So Beautiful'.
Well one night while they were listening to their favorite song, this one guy wouldn't shut-up and was talking loudly and laughing over their song. The wife of the hero of our story asked the guy to be quiet. Well, let's just say he chose poorly.
So our hero gets up and proceeds to beat the ever-living crap out of this guy.
After he got done beating him, he took his wallet and got out one dollar. And then played You Are So Beautiful twice.
Moral of the story: You don't want to ever interrupt Joe Cocker singing.
My daughter's name is Asia and my son's name is BJ... Y'all are so beautiful to me. Thanks y'all. Peace and blessings always. ✌️🙏💯
Every time I hear this song I think of my wife of 50 years. Thank you for a great reaction.
Wonderful artist with so much passion and I love his raspy, bluesy voice. Anything by him is great.
*Feelin' Alright* is another great song to check out.
Suggestions. UNCHAIN MY HEART.
YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR HAT ON.
THE LETTER from Woodstock.
FEELIN' ALRIGHT.
When Joe Cocker sings, it is the equivalent of a wounded animal growling in outrage of a love buried deep down in the soul. Refusing to give despair the upper hand in denying his expression before his last breath is exhausted. The man gave life, body and soul to his music. And left it for us to listen to forever. Thank you, Joe.
AMEN!! R.I.P Joe. We will forever love your music!
H,i beautiful song. Love this song. Love from Portugal
Music flows out of the every part of his body
WOW!!! I'm still still amazed every time I hear him sing this song.
It's been said that Stevie Ray Vaughan played the guitar as if his life depended on it. I believe Joe Cocker sang like his life depended on it.
Joe Cocker, " The Letter." He also performs it with Queen.
joe cocker, imperfection perfected. beautiful
My wife and I saw Joe Cocker at least 20 times. And each time we thought, This was gonna be his last show, because he put every ounce of energy in every song. I also want to say that I really like to watch your reactions, keep doing what your doing.
You should google his performance of this the night Princess Diana died…really special.
Joe Cocker - Woman To Woman is a must! Dre sampled it for California Love
Meeting this man was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Spoke to me one on one and was super gracious. He was too cool. And that voice...
“When I’m singing I’m not really aware of what’s going on around me. I’m just become submerged in the music.”- Joe Cocker
Another song he does better than anyone else
We saw Joe when this song was new. I will never forget looking over at my now wife and she had tears in her eyes… I have to thank Joe for a great after show time with her. Maybe without that show we wouldn’t have married… lol
Hey kids , you 2 bring much happiness to this damned old dark World...suggestion for Soundtrack Sunday...Joe Cocker..love theme from AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMEN....LOVE LIFT US UP WHERE WE BELONG!!!
Wow, BJ, you called it right. I was tearing up when you both were, AND while you were talking about it. Great reaction, you two !!! If you are looking for some songs of his to react to, you NEED to listen to pretty much anything from his Mad Dogs & Englishmen album, or tour. There are video clips of some of his stuff, but man, he had a cast of thousands with him on the tour ... Leon Russell, Delaney and Bonnie (whole band, Rita Coolidge, Carl Radle, Jim Price, Jim Horn, Jim Keltner and Jim Gordon, Bobby Keys, Jim Keltner, among others, and a slew of singers and background singers.
However, it was really all about the great songs he did. Songs of all types and many, different genres ... fast, slow ... happy, love, etc. you name it, it's there.
For me the most touching and beautiful love song! Can't listen without crying.
It amazes me. I grew up with the stuff then now I get to watch peoples expressions years later it’s so rewarding. i’m in my 60s and I cry every time I hear it so don’t be ashamed cry ..
This song was written by Dennis Wilson of Beach Boys fame.
Don't forget "Bye Bye Blackbird", "The Jealous Kind", and "Cry Me a River" !!!!!!
hi Asia and BJ I’m an old dude that grew up listening to a lot of the music that you folks react to. Just recently started watching reaction videos U2 youngsters are my favorite. I wish you peace and happiness. Thank you.
RIP one of a kind
This performance is a masterpiece.
I bought the You are so beautiful album back in 1974, and loved it. I first heard Joe in 1968 around the time his Cocker Happy album was released. Still loving his timeless music all these years later.
There are singers that sing the words and there are singers that feel the words... You can tell that he feels every single syllable leaving his mouth
Listen to Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warren sing Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong
Yet another classic from way back when from Joe....yes do "You can leave your hat on"...
I saw him live twice he was great 👍
Joe Cocker....unchain my heart
Joe Cocker was a 'cover killer'! A great artist! A later hit for Joe was "When the Night Comes".....GREAT SONG!
“Delta Lady”, is also a great song by Joe Cocker.
This is one of the earliest songs I remember hearing from my childhood so beautiful. His voice was anything but pretty I'm a conventional sense but what ability he had to use it. What a song
The man has SOUL.
my favourite song from him is cry me a river live. take a look.
Sing it Joe!
I've always thought it was sweet that this song was written as a tribute to (one of) the songwriter's Mom.
He thought people wouldn’t get him. We got you, Joe! RIP. 🥰
One In this world feelings are In his veins pure amazing Joe Cocker !! We miss you so much !!
Joe always gets lost in his music, it is so cool to see. He gives his all. Rough life, great artist.
I saw Joe singing in the Claire Valley, South Australia in essentially a field in the mid 1990’s. An open air show. Was brilliant. Really, really good. With wine of course 😂
I'm gonna recommend one of Cocker's less-famous songs: "Bye Bye Blackbird" which is from like the 1920s, but he does a great, soulful version that is fantastic, imo
When the night comes is one of my favorites
Asia, you are so beautiful
I used to sing this to my kids when they were little :)
I think you might enjoy a collaboration of Joe Cocker and Tom Jones song called Delta Lady!!!
Love Joe Cocker. Such a soulful voice. "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" and "Feels Like Forever" (czcams.com/video/cFtSfQCpZec/video.html) are just a couple of other great songs he recorded.
I can only think of Elton John other than Joe that could cover the Beatles and carry that weight
Joe was the man. Kind
Thank you for sharing this with me
All songs are reinterpreted by Joe Cocker. The album is called Organic, rel. 1996. "Heart full of rain" is similarly emotional.
Beautiful song and I loved y,alls reaction!!!
“Well you know like when you think about music, the big attraction always been to me has been black music, ya know, because that’s where the real soul comes from.”- Joe Cocker
Dennis Wilson wrote this song with his son in mind.
Love Joe. Got to see him in concert. Great show
One of a kind.
Such a unique voice. Definitely co·pa·cet·ic....
not gonna lie .... hearing him when i was younger . i had no idea he was white . never forget when that voice had a face to it . i was like WTF . amazing voice and stage presence .
Joe Cocker was certainly unique. Listen to more of his music. You won't be disappointed.
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Joe illustrates perfectly what is missing in today's music...EMOTION.
You can't go wrong with Joe. Try Feelin' Alright and She Came In Thru The Bathroom Window from his Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour which included a bevy of great support performers such as Leon Russell and Rita Coolidge. I'm surprised that tour had any survivors so intense it was.
a legend here in england
61yr old guy and tears in my eyes everytime i hear this!!!! For so many reasons!!!!!!!!!!!
