You can fill the head with expanding foam aswell to make it more rigid and still save on weight

Thank you! 20ft by 30ft, with 16ft ceilings! I just use one corner to shoot. The other two walls are all shelves, and there is a big table saw.

I have a really big head also. I had a hard time finding a full face motorcycle helmet that would fit me.
have you considered now filling the head cavity with expanding foam to help hold the weight of the plaster as you move it around and work on it? It also stops any spiders or bugs setting up home in your head.
You actually want me to kick the spiders out of my head?!!? Where will all my ideas come from??
I did add some expanding foam later, and I added a thick PVC pipe. I can set the head on a C-Stand, and work on stuff that hangs off my head and shoulders.

I don't have many tools at my house, where would you say is a good place to start, or should I get the tools?
Razor knife, or X-acto knife, and get sand paper. I use a lot of tools because I grew up around them, and I like tools- they speed things up. Most of the stuff I do can be done with minimal tools, it will just take longer. Especially working with EVA foam, you can get away without bigger stuff, it just takes more elbow grease and more time.
Tools on a budget? Look up Harbor Freight Tools. They have tons of online coupons, and they send out reams of paper coupons. They are a coast to coast US chain of tool suppliers. And they have a Dremel-like rotary tool. It's $20 instead of $100. It will not last nearly as long (my Dremel is 20 years old), but it will work for EVA crafting, and get you through many projects.
