A good way to fix the glitchy shadows is turn off the terrain casts shadows in the advanced graphics settings. I was surprised by how little different it makes to the overall graphics yet fixes that annoying ass issue! hope it helps

I think that if you build some stairs directly from the tram stops up to the street, and then cover the empty squares on the side (and top) of the tram with grass to make a park, it would look pretty cool

You could transform it into a tunnel in some section and make a park above to add more greenery. And then the people going up the stairs from the tram would go to that park which makes the way to home/work much nicer
