    I have been watching your channel for over a year now, and while I know next to nothing about running (ex-defensive tackle 😂), I am struck by how your form seems to be getting better and better! As Spike Lee said years ago in the Jordan ads, “It’s gotta be the shoes Money!”. Or not - you look great in all the reviews these days. Keep up the great work

    I have the Metaspeed Edge plus and Sky plus and Sky plus gives me foot fatigue.. Prefer the ride of the Sky Plus but only for max effort. Edge plus is good for any pace (even recovery) but not for a PB. So definitely getting the Edge Paris ❤. I just love Paris 🗼🗼🗼

    Have no idea which I am - but I generally preferred the Sky+ for distances over the Edge+. Sky+ felt bouncy and cushioned where the Edge+ felt a bit “flat” (meaning NOT super bouncy or springy). But a lot of reviewers are suggesting that people who liked the Sky+ in the old shoe might now prefer the Edge+. A conundrum for us all for sure. Darn it, ASICS, why can’t you just make up our minds for us? :). Great review though. Love the content!

    Great review Emily , looking forward to the latest edge since I actually got along well with the edge+ as my 5k to half racer, but yes did find the foam firm. You feel the new ffturbo + is a bit softer , but not mushy? Hoping for that and still retaining that explosiveness the edge+ had.

    I always see most outsole wear in my shoes on the lateral edge an inch or so forward from the heel, but I then roll onto my midfoot for full footstrike. I’m not a pronator but sounds otherwise similar to your gait. Very high cadence avg 180 and up, so clearly this Edge version would be the one between these two for me. However, like others, even a comparison between the Edge Paris and v3 of the Endorphin Pro would be helpful. I’d been planning to try v4 and expecting to like them since I’m hearing they’re even better than the 3’s if anything. But Boston is coming quickly so I’d love to know if I should consider the new Edge. Eg, is it noticeably less stable than the EP3? If you do have a chance to test the 4 and compare, I see 2 others comments asking the same. Great review Emily🎉

    I have the Sky Paris now and did a 10mile temporun in 1:02hours yesterday. They feel pretty unique to me in a good way. The more effort you put in striking your forefoot the more you get out of it. After the running my body felt great. It feels like a shoe for elites.
    Otherwise as an alphafly you sometimes feel like you actually doing nothing and the shoe works even with sloppy technique.
    I think they help become a better runner

    Great reviews, thanks. Sky+ was the best 5K shoe I ever ran in. Wouldn't dream of taking it to the marathon. Is it possible that Edge is friendlier to heel strikers and that Sky is more suited to forefooters? I'm not sure I buy the stride/cadence thing, as much as I like the Metaspeed line.

    I'm a high-cadence runner and I would love to try these back to back and feel the difference in them. The concept on the gen-1 was very interesting, but the "meh" reviews and high price kept me away. I LOVE the colors though--Child of the 80's, visual cripple, etc...

  • @dmleibo
    @dmleibo Před 3 měsíci +2

    Having tried the Sky+ and Edge+, I’ve concluded that the Sky is engineered for a mid-forefoot striker - the bounce is maximized when landing on that area and heel striking feels rough - and I think the Edge is more forgiving for heel-strikers. That said, the foam in both those shoes was way too firm for me as an average runner. Good to hear the Paris versions are a bit softer and bouncier.

  • @johnwhitesides566
    @johnwhitesides566 Před 3 měsíci +1

    An interesting thought about the Sky's arch, Emily. Like you, I have high arches (though my foot width is average - C) and I like a prominent arch support in a racer. For example, the Alphafly 1 works great for me in that regard. Yet, I infer that you like the Edge more in part due to its lower arch support (or do I misread you?).
    I am a stride runner - yes, my cadence increases with speed but generally I run 165-170 at a moderate pace (I'm 5-11), hitting 180 only at high speeds. Generally, shorter-legged runners depend more on cadence (though there are exceptions).

    I'm pretty sure I'm a cadence runner. That is because I easily can compare myself to other runners that are running slow or fast near me, and they do a lot less strides than me. Sometimes, I think that my cadence is a bit too high for the speed I'm running in my slow long runs, LOL . Well, but that never bored me besides that my glutes tend to be sore sometimes, and I almost never get sore on my calves or quads.

    Once again, I liked your impressions about the new versions of Assics super sneakers, but despite you saying that there has been an evolution, the information that they are softer destroys my interest in these models. There has been an increasing tendency for brands to increase softness, which undoubtedly improves comfort, but worsens performance and keeping pace. And this is not noticeable in short training sessions or sprints. It is on longer distances that this softness weighs down the feet, requiring more strength to maintain the stride. And the sole also appears to have been kept the same as the previous version, with a minimal and even non-existent amount of rubber where it would be necessary, making the level of wear absurd.
