I used to have a 1500 Super Automatic. I loved it very much and have driven it from 2002 to 2005. It took me on a holiday to Britain, where it's got to see its birthplace Longbridge. Many friendly reactions, especially from man in their thirties. Remember one guy in Brighton who walked by, stopped and told me his childhood memories of his dads Allegro. Nice memories...

Nice video. You saying you're not at all interested in modern cars reminds me of how I'm only interested in old BREL trains and dislike having to ride around in foreign designed / built modern units. Regarding your heat problem in the Summer I recommend to try turning the `heater' off completely (if possible on an Allegro) so that no air comes in to the car at all via the heater unit since some heat is usually picked up by the ducting etc. and the hot heat exchanger in the heater unit (of course on old cars like the Morris Minor 1000 you turned off the heater via a water valve but on more modern cars the heating heat exchanger remains hot at all times and a damper (air valve) prevents air flow through the heat exchanger in the Summer). Doing this and opening the windows will keep you cooler than using the blower on `cold'. Apologies if you already do this.

I wonder why they didn't do something to break the interior colour upper bit , like add a black dashboard and carpet 🤷🏼‍♂️

Great Video! Your car is a beautiful example , thank you for the history of the Allegro and the run out. I worked for Austin Rover from leaving school in 1982 to 1991 at a AR dealership. I owned an Allegro 3 1.3L Estate in the Early 90s it certainly had a lot of personality haha.
Thank You ps curious dose the heater controls iluminate on your model?

Aerospace 303 is good for dressing plastics and protecting from UV 👍

Not at all. The A series engines are the same as fitted to Minis. Parts for the engine are easily available. Body panels are rarer tho.
