with having ADHD and not understanding some things when it comes to learning to compose beats even after trying to learn from videos on youtube over the years here and there (busy mom of 2), I finally find a video that helped me understand what i need to learn without gonig all over the place and doing unnecessary sh*t. Yo, is there a way you can do a updated video but also go into full detail, especially adding claps. I’m doing everything but when I play the clap it either has sound or it has reverb on it and sounds different than the original file

It’s not just you man he does close ups and doesn’t show what he clicked to find a lot of things. Very confusing to me as well and I’ve used logic before
@@lisawillis8044 I hear you, I personally really love this video because its so quick and to the point (insert my ADHD lmao). But this video definitely leans on you having an already established comfort with using Logic, for example I just started recently becoming interested in making my own beats so they are by no means amazing lmao, but I record, mix and edit vocals in Logic and so I know my way around it and this makes it 10x easier and more fun for me to learn to come up with and structure beats! in my opinion learning to love and use/navigate your DAW and making beats are 2 different skills!
my advice is just read as many Manuals for Logic as you can (you can find all the apple made tutorials and books which are amazing on the bookstore on your iPhone and Mac for free if I'm not mistaken)
Then watch and study some CZcams drumming tutorials just so you can have an idea for how to build basic rythmic patterns
Then some basic music theory which will only take a day or 2 for you to understand the entry level stuff because it'll make things a million times easier.
I hope this wasn't condesending or info overload to anyone reading I just know what its like to really want to do something but not knowing where to start!! : )))

Whenever I stretch out a little bit like in your video and the go to put into piano roll all the notes are spread out and play the full melody instead of how you have it, why is that? I cannot seem to get them to line up like yours

Okay so at 7:22 when he grabs the clap and drags it into sampler. Where exactly is sampler? I'm so confused as to how that menu itself was pulled up. Anyone know? I'm literally trying all of this for the first time rn.
it’s on alchemy lol. just go to the advanced tab and drag it to where it says sources. hope this helps

anyone else drag the clap in and it sounds super echoy/ not like a clap
you need to initialise preset if you’re using alchemy. Alternatively you can use the quick sampler !
