- With the Acolyte Episode 5 now out on disney plus an already failing to reverse the backlash coming from the fans after the disaster that is acolyte episode 3.....those like leslye headland and kathleen kennedy have been defending this series at all costs along with bob iger the disney ceo....one major development now has to do with the acolyte episode 5 which includes poor dialogue, acting and a lack of storytelling that desperately used mindless action to make up for all of that and failed. The acolyte episode 5 sith criticism is also another major issue. This also comes in the wake of the Amandla Stenberg situation where she mocked star wars fans and those against the show along with the disney dei agenda.

that's not the only issue thought is it... riddled with problems..... Even if the girl can block force sensing the guy should be able to sense and notice there's something abnormal in her specifically because of the mannerism behavior, etc. if the other girl hasn't been around her sister for years, she wouldn't know how the girl behaved to mimic it. Just because they look the same same, doesn't mean they act /walk and express themselves the same way. He should be able to notice it even without force sensing.
That's the BIGGEST issue here. A Jedi Master can't sense his former Padowan? Someone he would have formed a Force Bond with? Absolutely ridiculous.
And so far they never made it to the Wookie jedi's home, which was the entire intent of coming to this planet. I guess they forgotten all the sword playI guess they forgot in all the sword play.
To be fair, Senator Palpatine hung out with Yoda and a number of other Jedi quite a few times in the Prequels, and they didn't sense much about him. Then again, there is the very real plausibility that Palpatine had practiced for years to become the Sith Master we finally saw in Episode III, and it was taking all of his skill and effort to mask himself.

Telling fans that they don't really understand what Star Wars is about is as ignorant as it gets. At least half of all Star Wars fans are older than Lesley Headland, and have been fans longer than she has been alive. Telling fans that they have to adapt to their "modern world" is flat out insulting. NO, fans do not have to adapt. Fans do not have to accept that their icons be hijacked by a select few that want to live in an over-representation of LGBTQ+ where none existed before. Sorry, when you represent 5% of the population, you don't get to dictate to the remaining 95% what they should and should not like. Why would anyone want to make a Star Wars series that is reflective of the modern world? Entertainment is about escapism, not reminding people of the discord and dissention of current events. Fans want to be able to leave the modern world behind and to lose themselves in a fantasy universe that offers thrills, danger, hope, and adventure. Is Disney now going to produce a Mickey Mouse movie where Goofy is gender alternative and Donald Duck is a bigot? This is how absurd the direction that Disney has taken all of the IP's under their management and are ruining them by "modernizing" them. If Disney won't do it to Mickey, then don't do it to Star Wars, Marvel, Indiana Jones, or anything else.

I love the fact that this show is just getting destroyed. I mean, how the hell could you mess up Star Wars? Disney does one thing right, destroys franchises.
The mind blowing thing is, Disney - Up to a few years ago - Were MASTERS of using Legacy Content and Characters to generate new stories and revenue. Look back to the 1990s. DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, and TaleSpin all happened in the Disney Universe. They all remixed existing characters and threw in a few new ones in creative ways to create new worlds and stories. Also, just about any classic Disney films or characters, how many times have they been reused in thoughtful and creative ways? In ways that are successful as far as revenues and popular with the fans? Disney has taken characters going back to the Walt days and handled them brilliantly. Star Wars should have been a gimme, and started out very well with Disney. Then a few years ago, they went off the rails at the top.
No amount of cool lightsaber battles makes up for the awful story and dialogue. You can’t serve me a 5 star meal on the dirty floor .

Each time I hear that there were some budget restrictions I laugh out loud. Remember each episode cost basically the same as Godzilla minus one.
Published budget is 180 million to make. Estimated 20 million for advert. That means 22.5 million per episode. You can still make a good feature film for that.

I canceled Disney+ after they fired Gina Carano. Any show I see from them is pirated. I pay for many streaming services, but I won’t contribute money to Disney until BI, KK and LH are gone and they reverse course on these DEI agendas.

The only redeeming parts of this episode is that most of the it were action/fight scenes (with passable quality for modern Star Wars), and that most of the characters were killed. The downsides being everything else

The fact that she idolized Riian's movies completely turns me off. I hated 8 and I refused to watch 9. I have not watched any of the SW's shows since then and do not plan to. As someone who was 14 when the original movie came out, I couldn't wait for new movies. Now, they kind of mean nothing to me.
To top it off, I received an email offer from my cable provider in Vancouver yesterday offering Disney+ at no additional cost. I deleted the email. I could not care less about Disney+.
At this point it just laundering money, there's no other explanation.

Starwars was never about a political agenda, or about some group of people, it was about good versus evil and the hero journey. The acolyte is about how you can bend or distort morals in order to justify violence from a certain point of view, is about of how we have lost the sense of virtue because the lack of a strong morality.
I'm getting sick of all of the star wars acolyte hating reviewers saying that Manny Jacinto is a good actor....so far his acting as a bumbling apothecary was not believable and his acting as a powerful sith is equally as non-believable....
Let's stop with the hivemind please and actually give credit where it is due....the best actor in this series has been the girl who played Jecki.....cute yet fierce, young yet intelligent, with the ability to lead as well as follow....the 2nd best actor is the guy who plays Sol, dude didn't even speak English before this role but his facial expressions and body language, his classic good looks and trained fighting movements are the perfect skill set to make a famous Hollywood actor....
Manny Jacinto is too small to be a sith lord, if i truly believe that my 10 year old daughter would whoop you in a lightsaber duel, you don't deserve the part or the credit of being good at the part...

Everyone needs to stop watching, reviewing, discussing, and going to Star War events for things to change. Disney Star Wars will stay on the same track (upcoming Rey movie, for example) as long as people seem to be engaged, even negatively. Disney gets their views, minutes watched, media attention, Hollywood praise, Dei and esg credits. This is all a win for Disney in a weird sort of way. The only way things are going to change and improve ( and get the girl boss /Mary Sue movie directed by the " I like to make men uncomfortable " director) if we all completely disengage from this garbage.
