As a Texan who took Texas history I can say this MAL and “battle style” is surprisingly accurate. Only a few things: the battle was at night, The Mexicans were much closer to the walls because they sneak 100 killed Al the guards standing post. There were much more people (obviously) and the battle of the Alamo is sometimes referred to as the Alamo massacre, because only two Texans lived after the battle, A woman and her daughter.
On a wall of the part of the Alamo that is still standing in San Antonio, there are a bunch of divets where, according to legend, the remaining captives of the battle were executed via firing squad.
Goes to show how the custom map creator can make some pretty interesting creations, even if the Alamo is outside the civil war time period
Actually, the only survivors were a woman, her baby, and Colonel Travis’s slave.
@@nathanielsemans yes plenty of men were executed after the battle but they spared men and women. Fun fact a few years ago they actually found the remains of a family beneath the floor in the Alamo. Idk if they identified them.
@@arf10034 I went to Gonzales where they keep the come and take it cannon and they have a pillar out front and at the bottom it reads and I quote: “survivors of the Alamo massacre: Mrs. Almaron Dickerson and, and baby daughter of Gonzales”.
Although it seems possible as Mexico outlawed slavery that same year.

The one thing they need to work on Is momentum, everyone seems to be ice skating around each other (especially during melee) if they can fix that it will be awesome!

The Alamo helped spark my interest in history along with the Civil War.
Theinfpuwnce in history world wide, the tactics of how so few can hold out against disorder many for so long, how opposing ideologies can lead millions to go to war with each other...
You, oversimplified and extra credits/history have really given me hope that inspite of the current politics, that history will be remembered.
Dude me too; deconstructing the epic, overblown myth of the big episode of the Texas revolution got me started on my love of military snd then world history. “Why are we shooting at each other?” Leads to, “who are we, anyway, and why?”
Just curious here, do you know that "V" will change your view to first person and back? Also, while aiming if you press "B" you can use iron sights. Iron sights helps a lot with the longer shots.

You should totally customise your uniform loadout. In the main menu, click gear, select your "regiment" and "company" until the bar at the bottom is green then click uniform. You can customise your tunic, shirts, badges, hats, equipment and more. Some confederate tophats are very classy

This game is actually made by the same creators of the Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars DLC.

@@MechanicznaCebula 2 of the actual NW devs(FSE) worked on HF for a time helping them out back in/around 2017. They are using some BCoF assets.
@@MechanicznaCebula 2 of the FSE devs did work on pre alpha stages of holdfast but the AGS devs did not make NW. and the other dude is correct. Holdfast uses some assets that were made for bcof.
So this isn't made by the same people as Holdfast? It looks literally identicle, from gunshot sounds, to animations, to gameplay, it looks like a DLC for Holdfast.
You can draw parallels since it’s the same engine and some of the developers dabbled on holdfast in the early days but as an alpha tester I think there’s more to Battle Cry than holdfast
It’s the same engine and two of the FSE devs did early pre alpha work on holdfast. Holdfast also uses several assets that were designed for bcof. Completely different game though.
And yeah these black powder games are pretty niche so they look similar but the FSE devs were the makers of the Mount and Blade: Warband Napoleonic Wars DLC, which started the whole genre.
This would be a great map if the Mexican army had Command mode and the Alamo defenders were all players.

1860s Old America mod for M&B Warband. Had Imperial mexican loyalists, rebels and Republic of Mexico troops tree as well as Indio tribes, native american tribes etc. I quite loved it.^^

Really? Ever heard of an achievement where you have to kill so many enemies to earn it on a level where the only enemies are black?
There was a similar one in red dead revolver where you had to kill a certain amount of Mexican soldiers to unlock something.

189 for 13 days the actual battle lasted 90 minutes. I know it was 189 because when I went there they had a pamphlet with everyone’s name since back then you wrong your name down. I counted every name and it was 189 minus Travis’s Slave. Hate the fact how people are trying to say otherwise now a days man.

Using the map editor, people can make any map they want. I wouldnt be surprised if people made maps for other conflicts/wars.

If you mean voice chat, there is but it is still being worked on. There are client mutes, server mutes, server settings to allow voip in general, and same for your client. So server owners/event organizers, and yourself have control of it.

Holdfast reskinned but I am happy
Same engine but it's actually a lot more detailed than holdfast IMO. It has a fully accurate shooting ballistics system for starters. I also find the server stability to be far better than holdfast has as well. 300+ players with no performance drop server side.

The game is set in the American civil war but using the custom map maker someone made an Alamo map to which we played a siege event on
The men in the Alamo wasn’t just Americans. Mexican also fought with Americans as well as people from England Denmark Ireland Scotland and other country’s even Germans. But I bet people aren’t taught that.
