    Great stuff all the way through! Cool to see the color combination you landed on.

    Pokemoki on pokepile is exactly what I love yo see! I don't play legacy but I always feel like I learn something about magic when he talks through the decisions.

    Great upload, some cards are in the mail for me!
    However, I noticed the Swamp and only 6 black mana symbols maindeck. I get the Blood Moon and Harbinger reasons, but it seems a bit not necessarily?
    Would you still keep it maindeck after this video (and further testing?).
    Maybe a Mystic Sanctuary slot?

      the main issue, as shown in the league, is developing through wasteland

    This was really cool to see! I’ve been playing my pet deck, Esper Tempation, for quite a while now and with the coming of Frog and Tamiyo, it ended up not being that far removed from what you’re playing here.
    This league did show me that I should at least up the number of Tamiyo and should be back on Murktide as well. So, thanks for that - quite the valuable content for me in that regard.
    I do have to note that I don’t think Plague Engineer is a super playable card at the moment, but that might just me.
    Are you planning on discussing the progression of the list further on Discord, like you did with BUG Beans (which sadly has kinda died off)?

      I've actually went ahead and set up a Legacy Esper Discord, seeing as I've actually never seen one for the wedge and figured it might be handy. I already run the Legacy Grixis / 4C Discord as well, so don't mind adding this one to the roster, haha. I've reached out to you on Discord as well.

    Very cool deck! Coincidentally, I also started working on an Esper + Frog shell last night. Do you feel like some number of Triumph of Saint Katherine could be worth considering in the Murktide slots?

      without delver in the format, there's no way I'd play kath over murktide in this deck

      @@guydrinkstea I thought about it in the sb to help with eldrazi but in the main deck its not very flexible, which is something i prioritize a lot.

      @@Pokemoki That's very fair, yeah. I was considering giving 1 a try in place of the third Murktide, both vs Eldrazi and with the expectation that Delver will see a resurgence after Scaminator gets hit. But the sideboard might be a better place for it once we maybe get a bit of free space there.

    thx for this great take but i must mention that the sound is really terrible.
    every time you start / quit talking theres immense rustling ( not for ranting but maybe as a help to improvise )
    Best regards

    awesome to see as ever -- what are your thoughts on the card Pest Control, say in the maindeck Wrath slot and more generally? is it mostly invalidated by Wrath, or does it have value?

    • @Pokemoki
      @Pokemoki  Před měsícem +2

      @@johnguillem9817 i think it's a strong card but has really awful synergy with tamiyo. Wrath not killing flipped tamiyo while removing whatever is threatening it is so sick.

    I've been thinking about the list some more since yesterday and wanted to get your take on another card in this kind of shell since it's something I felt like I've wanted in the BUG Tamiyo + Frog build I had also been working on: Does Thoughtseize fit well into this kind of strategy? Could you go into why one may or may not want it in this deck?
    What made me think about Thoughtseize (and also the reason why I initially branched out into BUG from just UB) was the new Bant Nadu deck. Getting access to Witherbloom Command has been nice for dealing with a Shuko that gets played early while also keeping up the Wasteland pressure on their mana base. Thoughtseize could also work as another way to attack Nadu on a 1-for-1 basis, as countermagic gets a bit worse against the deck since they started playing things like Cavern of Souls or Delighted Halfling.

    • @Pokemoki
      @Pokemoki  Před měsícem +1

      @@guydrinkstea it is a fine card to target combo heavy metas, just be aware that it is a tempo negative card which isn't quite as good with your threats.

    • @guydrinkstea
      @guydrinkstea Před měsícem

      @@Pokemoki Very true, thank you! I might consider a copy or two post Grief ban if Nadu does end up becoming a problem.

    This is very close to a Dimir Frog list I’m playing, I think you’re right about wanting access to the white removal.
    I’m a big fan of Wrath of the Skies in bigger control decks but I wonder if Pest Control is a better choice in this list due to BW cost instead of (X)WW.

    • @Pokemoki
      @Pokemoki  Před měsícem

      @@Matt_Chow i thought a lot about pest control but I hate how bad it is with tamiyo. Wrath leaving flipped tamiyo on an empty board is game winning. Still, I do agree that it is a little clunky. I went down to 2 after the league, but hitting saga and artifact lands means I prefer it over pest control.
