We took my dad to watch this movie two weeks ago. He had been sick. Two days ago, he passed away. This was the last movie he ever watched. I'm glad he did, he really enjoyed it and probably forgot about his pain for the two hours. I recommend everyone go see it, it's a beautiful movie indeed.

Thats the same exact process actors go through. Thinking about the dread in their life, maybe the one they love is now filing divorce, she wants to take the kids, the car got repossessed. Then just before the step on stage, they become this character of joy and wonder, who has no cares to the world beyond, he sings, he dances. But the actor's life still is there, just under a layer of the characters. The second he leaves that stage, he is back to himself and the dread that follows.

The movie opens with Elton in the red winged suit, and I was like WTF have I gotten into. I have to admit it was a very clever way to tell the story. It doesn't take itself too seriously but yet I felt it tells his story in a very Elton way that works perfectly. Part musical part biopic at the same time, there are ups, there downs, it's sad, it's inspirational and funny.

My husband bought me this movie for Christmas. I've been a fan of Elton John since I was a kid in the 80's. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Very real and personal. Just like the music.

Infinitely better and bolder than Bohemian Rhapsody. Wasn't afraid to show Elton's homosexuality at the expense of being able to show it in Chinese cinemas. Wasn't afraid to incorporate his music creatively, instead of just recreating concerts and recording sessions. The performances, cinematography and editing is lightyears ahead of it too. It should have received so much more attention and praise.

I wish there would be more movies of this kind. Showing the lifes of bands and their members. I dont really care if they are more like Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman or even something completly different. I just want more of them, with the same love and quality of the ones we already have.
One of the BEST movies I have seen. This movie made me feel, happy, sad, heartbroken and at the end joy , that the real Elton John overcame all. Taron Egerton you did an incredible job portraying a legendary artist. It was a true pleasure to watch you in this movie.

Uncensored? Doub it. I bet that they will skip/downplay anything too raunchy related to his bisexuality and promiscuity (just like they did with _Bohemian Rhapsody_ )

Maybe it's not original to tell a story that already exists, but bringing a Wikipedia page to life is way more entertaining than some of the movies in recent years

Plus, it's funny how this became a full circle. First Taron Egerton sang an Elton John song in Sing (and spectacularly, if I might add). Then, he saved Elton in the Golden Circle, even though it's not his character who saved Elton. Now, he IS Elton John.

This movie beats Bohemian Rhapsody even though I love both movies. This movie to me hits me more because it's focusing on one person like the Bohemian Rhapsody focuses on the whole band but this movie hits me different.
nah bohemian rhapsody was a Freddie biopic not a queen biopic, Freddie is my favourite person of all time but they really should’ve made it more about the band as a whole not just about Freddie, the other band members seem like side characters
