Plot twist: Riley constantly poking fun at Tim and Barbara might be why old Tim Apple didn’t deem LMG worthy enough to send them their new VR headset. I said it. VR headset.
They've talked about it briefly on the WAN show and they seem to be in the understanding that they are too critical for most review units from not just Apple but other manufacturers as well

@@PhyrexJ I get that, but as a Business my leaving does cost them some money. Other businesses around here that I know also stopped so if enough leave then it really hurts their bottom line. When I cancelled I told them why in their comment section. 1 person doesn't matter, but 100,000 or a million do.
A gambling ad was baked into the beginning of the Google Play podcast version of this Tech Link.
I'm really pleasantly surprised that GM is uncancelling their two best cars!
All gas or all expensive EVs was getting really stressful.
I LOVE my volt! I hope they make an updated model and don’t make it a gas powered, multi speed transmission based car like most plug in hybrids. The Volt concept is the perfect transition car/platform.
The problem is cheap cars don't make profit, expensive ones do. Without doing any research I reckon the Equinox EV is an easy 35k usd.
They were cancelled because they never made a profit. How long do you think they'll be able to sell some new phev at a loss? The dealers are demanding it, not customers. Because the dealers can make money on phev's with oil changes.
Phev's are the worst of both worlds, expensive engine, expensive battery, expensive motors, big gas tank, lots of maintenance, pure EV is a clear winner, the only reason EV's aren't more affordable is because brands want to milk the premium EV market for all its worth.
My theory as to the return of Phev's is, consumer demand for cheaper to run cars, need to maintain customer loyalty and the rise in subscription services in cars, options such as performance, entertainment systems, heated seats,(you could even pay a premium for the tesla network), etc, this new model makes a low margin car such as an PHEV more viable for brands.

as someone losing his vision to myopic degeneration, I do think this tech will be a boon for the visually impaired, at this stage in my blindness I tested the HD zoom camera on my phone(Galaxy 20), I used it with my lenses in and out with a friend and I was able to navigate my surroundings successfully with my lenses out, I wish I had a rift to test this out, then use my cane as back-up(tech only works when it works), the fidelity I was seeing everyday mundane objects was quite stunning, I do applaud Apple for one thing, Steve Jobs took a risk putting all of the the accessibility features in his iPhone, we are a small demographic about 1.3 million of us in the states, so he had no profit motive to do this, every blind/impaired person I knew both in my training program and abroad in our little hobbit community all had iPhones even though it does annoy sighted people when they accidentally turn these features on lol, but again I do hope they further this tech for visually impaired people
I've been into VR since 2017 and if I see anyone mention the term "spatial computing" to refer to what is obviously VR/AR I'm going to intensely make fun of them every time.
I like it. It removes the current association from games and vr headsets. Instead it sounds as if they want to associate it with productivity software and perhaps other 3d experienced devices.
@@justanothercommercial It is just marketing gimmick, that is exactly why it's so ridiculous. There's no way to be any more productive with VP as any other headset. Sure the cameras are of higher quality, but that is hardly bottlenecking your words per minute.
The issue is that they used this term and didn't fixed lots of the issues of any other headset and didn't made the VR/MR popular...
Is is like claiming they can use a new term because they believe they are superior, while they just spent more money to deliver a Kistarter product...
@@shadowflar3 Yeah, it's very apple to use it this way. But, it can be used as a kind of an umbrella term that encompasses all types of interaction with computers based in the real world. So, I think this term will probably be used more often in the future, especially from companies wanting to appeal to businesses or professionals.

Just a note to say I've become a faithful viewer. I've been working in tech for literally 50 years, and it's entertaining how little actually changes. 😂
I actually did a primitive version of this ~40 years ago. In my case, it was a monthly column ("According to Webster", BYTE Magazine, 1985-87) printed on dead trees, reviewing products and covering the PC industry. The BYTE editor in chief occasionally required me to tone down some of my more scathing observations. 😂
This is awesome, man!

Verge review was on point
Man i felt personally attacked by the barbra joke
OMG the writers got it so wrong. The Volt was cancelled because it was losing way too much money and was a disappointing ball of crap compared to the concept version. Dealers want GM to sell PHEV's again not because customers want them ... but because dealers can actually make money off of maintaining them. Since they are basically EV's but with all the added complexity, moving parts, and regular maintenance of an ICE car. The dealers just couldn't fool enough EV buyers to pay for un-needed oil change plans.
Car ownership is already a money pit, dealership culture [and big $$$ lobbying] is a cancer to our nation’s public transit initiatives
Im sure that this time GM will come out with a new car. Probably call it something easy and distinguishable like Wolt so it wont be confused with Bolt or Volt.
This was the funniest episode of techlinked so far lol

Oh yes, can recommend the series "Severance" to anyone. A masterpice!
The Apple vision pro just look like a Kistarter product and they literally made a presentation like "this is the future and it is right now"... while the product is just an Alpha version going into Beta...
So you mean they beed about a few year before it ready? Just like he 120Hz displays.. even now you still limited mainly with 60fps (games, even video streams like youtube and twitch..), so even now you are not really must have the 120Hz display, because to use it, you also need the 120fps.. so you are still just beta testing the scrolling for 7 years..? Worth it.. (before you start to use it, you don't even miss the mire frames while scrollig.. so you just missing something what you only know because they pushing the tech, but still nit required for real usage until the content like videos and games are reach the stable 120fps..)
@@TamasKiss-yk4st no, 120Hz is not a feature, not a product.
Also our eyes can see 90Hz and in gaming 120hz. The reason is that our eyes are not synchronized with the display, also a good eye can see movements faster than 60fps.
You are making a lot of confusion with FPS and hz.
So Your "objection" is wrong.
iJustine, Marques Brownlee, and Brian Tong all have really good, thorough, hands-on reviews of the Apple Vision Pro out already.
Amusing seeing Vision Pro reviews painting passthrough with floating windows as revolutionary, while people can already have it with quest 3 for 500 dollars.
But Quest 3 will not let you do things like see on your Mac, and you get a remote desktop windows in that window, so you basically can do anything, even check and edit your excel table with the headset while in the garden.. can you do that with Quest 3? Model 3 and Model Y both have over 300 miles of range, with Model S over 400 miles. How much more battery do people want to carry around during their 10-mile commute?
My friend has an early Model X that's been driven hard its entire life and normally only gets about 150 miles of range on the highway, but yet has no trouble driving 900 miles to Florida in it.
Seems like they are using common core math to make things and it's not working out for the companies lol
If looking at Apple products over the years has taught me anything, it's that the first generation is going to suck. It's basically an "early access" variant of the final product, and usually has support abandoned quickly, and is barely usable.
Carbon footprint is BS. Here in the US, we don't have the infrastructure for charging every car. Our politicians put the cart before the horse ,double dumb asses.
Gas stations where im at are making 60-130% more more on gas then they would be if they didn't inflate that. It shows how much we make per gallon.. so yeah kinda fKd right now.

Gold Apple Watch series 0 vibes :)
It isn't that consumers aren't interested in BEV considering Tesla and Hyundai can't make BEVs fast enough, nor can BYD though I don't recommend them. It's that FORD AND GM CAN'T FIGURE OUT BEVs and WHAT PEOPLE WANT!
Stop it with the nonsense that people don't want BEV. People want GOOD vehicles one way or another and they want a vehicle they can AFFORD and it makes SENSE for their needs.
Ford made a BEV truck and Mustang. GM made BEV with Cadillac and Hummer. Yeah I see the BIG RUSH to buy a BEV Hummer for $90,000 USD. Really, no really, really. NOT. I live in a metro of about 8 million people, I might see a Hummer once a month. I ALSO see more Teslas on the road now than I do Cadillacs. So, I'm simply going to call GM's management BRAINLESS for thinking vehicles that for one aren't very popular, and two expensive or not very practical like a TANK called a Hummer, is going to make a good BEV which will be even MORE expensive.
I want a car that's fun to drive, affordable to own (including reliability to at least 200k miles), and doesn't have any electronics more complicated than a chipkey immobilizer or a bluetooth stereo. So far, precisely zero EVs meet that criteria, and only a small handful of new ICE cars even come close. New cars just plain suck. Something, something, enshittification.
