That's an interesting take. After all, when you buy this TV, you buy it **as a TV**, without seeing the T&C presumably (I seriously doubt that anyone in a store would remind you that you won't be able to use this TV as a TV before you pay).
If the non-acceptance of Roku's terms really prevents you from using it as a display for normal TV inputs, I could see this as a case.
Of course, I suspect that you can still use the TV, just not its "smart" functions and the integrated OS. In which circumstances, I really doubt the case would go forward.
Is there someone with one of these TVs that can confirm ?
@@chaddaifouche536the popup menu actually prevents interacting w the OS at all , so no it doesn't still allow, say, HDMI until u agree. also worth noting these TVs ship w forced OTA updates

That's always my favorite. Like how I used to have to pay 80$ a month for DSL (with speeds up to 3mbps). CenturyLink only had pricing for "High speed internet" *F you if you live in a rural area and can't get those speeds, you will still pay for them.
I mean they can't know about your internet, and I much rather have a lower resolution or frame rate than the game just straight up dying if the internet sucks. So it kinda makes sense. The limiting factor for lower resolution is always on your end not theirs. They promise to be able to send 1080p, they just can't know beforehand if you can receive it.

By the way those 8GB RAM modules are still has higher data transfer speed like any other laptops.. single DDR5 module has about 50GB/s transfer limit, the PCIe 4.0x16 slot (you know, where you slot our GPU, so it's communicating on that..) has only 32GB/s limit.. and guess what had the same ratio with smaller max capacity+more expensive+higher transfer speed? Yes it was the SSD if you compared it with the HDD (still the SSD are smaller, more expensive, and it's "only" faster), but let me guess which one you are use now.. it's NOT the bigger max capacity and cheaper HDD..
Just for info, to match the 400GB/s transfer limit on M3 Max, you n3ed a 8channel RAM (so 8 slotted RAM, you will never find any laptop with that), and a PCIe 8.0x16 slot for your GPU (what you also will not find for a long time..)
So just tell me, why are you the SSD, when the HDD is still cheaper and bigger in capacity.. so basically has the same advantage and disadvantages like Apple RAM vs replaceable RAM modules..
