after the split you can promote the planarpatch1_top from points to vertices and use that in UV flatten under axis-aligned vertex groups tab, changing align parallel to V axis. don't forget to add one seam
this method does the same thing but cutting the number of steps to half

Hey thanks for the tip. I played around with the UV Flatten node as you described and I could not quite the same result. The UV space seems to stretch quite a bit and I get different result depending on the edge I select. I would be interested in taking a look at the results you are ably to achieve with that approach if that's ok.

@@EdmondBouletGilly Hi. This is my setup:

Edit: Yes, I've just now noticed that it suffers from stretching as well. I'm gonna try to look into it a bit more. Thank you for pointing that out!

Can you please make tutorial (or give an advice) how to bind baked alembic cloth sim to fbx characters in crowd solver .. So it stays "packed" and fast (one of the problems is agent in place rule)

That's a very specific request that I indeed know how to do haha. I will add it to the list.

@@EdmondBouletGilly Thanks a lot ! .. The basic idea is that I wanted to repeat your scene with costumes .. but didn't want to wait eternity to simulate it )

@@vazelevz I know exactly what you are talking because this is what I did, I just simed 4 variation made it loop in Chop and instantiated everything. Works great !
