đ« Being human is a given. But keeping our humanity is a choice - ZĂĄbava
The first time I heard this song it surprised me too, to me, itâs basically saying, âhurt me, because I can take it, please donât hurt yourself, because thatâs something I cannot bear.â
Very intuitive. Most people don't get the theme.
wow. great interpretation.
Yes. Unconditional love.
Well said
I can relate to that too much.
I am a survivor of 3 suicide attempts I have been diagnosed with bipolar depression it's real I have been told on many occasions to just snap out of it.Its not a choice for us to live and feel this way.But after 55 dealing with horrible monster that wants my life and my soul.I have truly learned to love and respect myself and to take it minute by minute hour by hour and day by day. God bless anyone that reads this and I pray it helps you as well
I was shopping with my daughter. She said mama I want you to watch this video. You see I have bi-polar and take my medicine everyday as prescribed but I have days I wish I wasn't here to keeping dealing with the crazy that are my thoughts that run through my head. When we got back to car, she pulled up this song on youtube in the Walmart parking lot. I remember tears running down my face when the song ended I just kept looking at the phone. After a few moments of silence, she simply said I live you mama never forget that and I'll always be here. No matter what. (Sorry for the long message)
My daughter has severe anxiety and survives two attempts⊠she couldnât be medicated because side effects made things worse. I wouldnât wish that pain on anyone and Iâm sorry you are in the same boat as me and sorrier still that your daughter hurts so much! Always remind her it is not a scarlet letter and itâs okay to talk about.
The lady was bi-polar and the husband was just trying to love her through all that crazy.
maybe..but never said what she had
@@simoncox9689 Showed her going from extreme highs to extreme lows. Kind of classic Bi-polar.
I understand my ex was bipolar itâs a hard thing to live with and it will destroy the ones who to love the person who has it
Nailed it.
@@sirdumbthicc4294 i cant find anything about him saying she had bi polor ..only that he said he aims to shine a light on mental health awareness ..thats all i can find
I am a mom of 5 who suffers from BPD and Bipolar 1 disorder. This song hits me so close because I'm watching my life in the video. One of his all time best songs with such a good story line and video to bring mental health awareness to the surface. Chris is one of The Best singer/songwriters of all time!!!!!!
At his concert!! I was touched by the words... saw the video and was blown away.. the fact that the police officer's job was to help people... and he couldn't help the person he loved was heartbreaking.
This is a heartbreaking video but so important to see. I have a bipolar daughter who thankfully does better than this. But my heart hurts for the struggles in her life.
Sometimes you can't love someone enough to save them from themselves.
When I first heard this song a very good friend of mine had just ended her life and I honestly was considering doing the same thing, I was in such a dark place that I couldn't see the light, I couldn't see my way out of it, and I watched the video and it showed me how much it would hurt my loved ones, so I decided to just keep my head up and keep pushing.. this song literally saved my life.
This is the only video Chris Stapleton's ever made...
I had just gotten a divorce. I turned to alcohol so I could forget my life for just a little while. Luckily, i only drank for about a month. My parents took me to the hospital because they thought it was my multiple sclerosis causing the balance issues and not being able to think straight. They did blood work and I had already had liver damage. The doctor knew right away from my blood work. I would be drinking straight vodka. I would watch this video. It took me a long time to be able to listen to this again. I'm totally sober. I haven't drank even a sip of any alcohol in four years. He wasn't worth it. He was a terrible person. He broke me. I just decided to stop giving me any control over my thoughts. I was in the floor crying and praying for God to let me forget him. I had to forgive him for me. One day I woke up completely at peace. The power of prayer is very real. Sorry for the long comment.
Remember when it came out. Made me think of my wife. Mental illness is tough on both sides. Just shows how both people hurt differently. Mental illness is real and not enough talked about.
I am bipolar, have had serious love, trying to hold on to me and keep me safe. It's been hard on me and anyone who cares for me. I cried so hard watching this the 1st time. I sobbed. Only my sons have kept me.
I heard this song several times before I watched the video and it really hit home for me. Not gonna lie...I cried and still do but I dont let my little lady see it. Its hard but I'm still in this fight.
I understand. Ever listened to Rob Thomas? I do sometimes, he writes about his wife, that suffers with Bi-polar.
Brother I am in the Same place Everyday even with meds But God got a plan so I keep on keeping on prayers My friend
God bless you man. My husband never gave up on me when I fell. My daughter died and so did I in a way. He saved me and in turn saved her baby girl who we are raising. He's my hero as are you.
changeyourdirection.org
@ Gary Glass You sound like a great guy, I understand a bit of what your going through...This song hits very close to home for me, sounds like my husband is in the same boat as you...
As someone who has survived 3 suicide attempts, with my husband (of 25 years) finding me in comas, and is still trying to help me fight my inner demons..I know it is so hard for him and I don't want to hurt him, with him not fully understanding what's going inside me, and he's now the only person I can trust, when I'm feeling suicidal...
This message is so important, mental health is a hard disease to fight...đâ€â
in the early 80's we had a singer, Bob Seger, who sang almost EXACTLY like Chris. He didn't have the song repertoire but the voice's are identical!!!
âWhiskey and youâ is one of his songs that no one every mentions..... well worth a listen and reaction.
What's crazy is that's actually a Tim Mcgraw song but Chris's cover is like a million times better.
@@jacobstrobbe8551 Chris wrote the song for Tim when he was a songwriter before going out on his own as a solo artist
coach George Jones is the original artist back in the 80s and I believe his version is better than Chris Stapleton and Tim McGraw
The cover of âWhiskey and youâ is one of my all time favorite songs â€ïž
Driving down the road and fire away came on the radio. When i got home, I looked it up on CZcams and see the video. I was deeply touched and crying. I love the song. Later in an interview, Chris said he did this video to bring awareness to mental illness and hopefully help prevent things like this from happening.
The purpose of this video according to Chris Stapleton is to bring awareness to mental health issues, part of proceeds were donated for awareness of mental health.
Great choice. Chris is a great singer but his songs are just as amazing as that voice.
My first time hearing this was when I discovered Chris Stapleton. I went on a CS binge. The Man is brilliant. He can write, sing and play guitar like no one else. I think that by now you've discovered that true Country is the heart and soul of our country. If you'd like to hear another great performer and be warned ahead of time, you will binge on his music. Try CHRIS LEDOUX. Start off with This Cowboy's Hat. I've enjoyed watching your reactions. Wishing You and Family Well and Happiness.
The visual was directed by Tim Mattia (Sam Hunt's "Take your Time") and conceived by Chris Stapleton to bring awareness to mental health issues, specifically through the Campaign to Change Direction. The organization was introduced to the singer through Foster. Stapleton also has a cameo role in the video as the bartender who serves Foster.
Chris Stapleton also does one called "daddy doesnt pray anymore" itll break your heart but it's a good song
Yep. That's a great one of his.
Camping in Tennessee at my cousin's house back in 2017, I was blown away by his voice. And the song is powerful. He immediately became my favorite country singer. In my opinion he has the best voice in country, you should check out his song Tennessee whiskey
Living with some that is bi-polar is a 24 hour day of tension and always being prepared for the ups and downs. He is saying he will always be there for everything she is going through until the end, until she was too depressed to go on he wasn't there.
I've been a Chris Stapleton fan since he was a part of the Steel Drivers...SOOOOOOOO good. He's helped me through many a rough emotional time. I'm so glad you discovered him. Love your channel â€
I heard this song when I was experiencing something of this nature with my daughters mom although not that extreme. The songs aim was to raise awareness to mental health
Loving someone who has emotional issues is hard and no matter how hard you try you can't always save them from themselves if you aren't careful they will take you with them ,the rollercoaster of pain can destroy your body and your soul, if you are in this situation get professional help or risk their life and yours!
One Chris Stapleton song you should really hear is Death Row. His voice is insane
This video illustrates the difficulty of loving someone with mental/depressive issues. The chorus says basicallly, "I'm in this for the long haul" even though he knows it will be hard and may end badly.
If only had someone like him. If only i had someone who is there for me forever and always. If only, maybe then i wouldnt be planning my death soon
Stapleton...
Music to sit back with a glass of whiskey, and just drift away with the music
The bartender at the beginning is played by Chris Stapleton.
Addictions has heart, it's people love you, want you to come home. You can't see death coming that hurts the mostđąđą
Chris be killing me.... that voice makes me have full body goosebumps and brings me to tears
I really enjoy your reactions. Thatâs why I wanted you to react to this video, but if you let it play until the end a hot line pops out for those who need help. This video is great because it brings light to mental health. An issue that in this country that is not being properly dealt properly with.
I heard shortly after my daughter died. My husband would not give up on me. We are raising her baby girl who needed me here and us together. He did that and I am so grateful.
Very powerful and emotional as hell. Chris could sing the ingredients on a soup can, and it would have soul, but this? Holy shit.
The love of an individual is not measured in just words, it is when the love of that individual makes an imprint on our lives that makes us want to be better, you want there safety over your own. The song is about love in the sickness part in health.i have lost to many family and friends to mental instability. Few random acts of kindness and letting someone know you care and matter makes a difference in this life.
Chris Stapleton has probably written many songs you've heard over the years..Killer songwriter..
This songs sad for me, i heard it while taking care of my gram, who had stage 4 breast cancer, and severe dementia. I watched her rapidly deteriorate in front of me for a few months, and she would go off like this, but i still stayed, rip gram violet !
He is one of the best singer/ songwriters ever
This song make grown man cry... living and striving to be there for a depressed and vocal depressed/ suicidal wife this makes you cry from the heart
I first heard Chris Stapleton Tennessee Whiskey about a year ago, my love skipped out shortly before. I was away hauling and emergency services found her long before I could. This song nut punches me in the heart.
I saw this video for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I cried like a baby. My brother committed suicide 9 year's ago. You never get over losing someone to suicide. I love Chris Stapleton. He's awesome. Sushi....you are an empath like me. You feel everything. I noticed that the first time I saw you on here. You listened to Whiskey Lullaby. You're real and you have a good heart. Don't ever change!Country music will definitely make you cry. Listen to The Dance by Garth Brooks sometime.
Just want to say, out of the various people I've watched doing reaction videos, you by far give the most honest, raw, and deep emotions. I find it hard to even pay attention to the subject at hand, because I get so caught up in the expressions of your face and eyes. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your reactions exposing your own vulnerability. I think I speak not just for myself, but for others when I say we experience something beautiful in the midst of sorrow when you open up in such a personal way. Thank you, and GOD Bless you â€
Depression is rough... it's a shame when people don't get the help they need... it's hard on everyone
Young lady, you are AWESOME! You, and a few others, come across with the most sincere, honest, reactions. That is from a 71 year old, white guy who now follow the reactions by our Black brothers and sisters.....almost exclusively. For whatever reason, I feel at home and comfortable, with the emotion that pours our of your heart. I just don't feel that kind of reaction with those who care more about hearing themselves talk. Like a lot of other Southerners, I know that I have always made a connection with the heart and SOUL of my Brothers "of another color." Thank GOD that music is often devoid of prejudice....but is full of the emotion that tears down the walls of hatred!
Life is so Precious, the pain left behind by this act is tremendous
To love and loose them to something you can't fix is a heartbreaking đ price , when I lost my wife to a illness that couldn't be beaten it left my soul with a scar that's never healed!
Sushi your awesome!!!!! Lifelong country music fan here......... its entertaining to see someone appreciate the music i love so much.
Chris Stapleton - "Parachute" is absolutely perfect for you
Jaimie Johnson - "In color" may be another good one for you.
If you keep doing these people like me with continue giving you good ones to do, your reactions are awesome!! The list is endless on good songs you would appreciate. You have a very good wholesome attitude and so your a born country music fan!!!!!! Very wholesome uplifting music which we need so much in a world of negativity!!!!!!!!
I donât know why, but I love watching the tearjerkers. Maybe cause it reminds me weâre human. One such song is Concrete Angel by Martina Mcbride. She has an amazing voice.
Chris was in a blue grass band Called The SteelDrivers. They are absolutely awesome. He was in a rock band called The Jompson Brothers.
The first time I heard it was soon after buying his CD.
A couple months ago saw the video on CZcams.
Shed a few tears, he loved her unconditionally.
Just thinking not too many people especially men in the world today, will be there for better or worse
Chris Stapleton I was wrong and Chris Stapleton Sometimes I Cry
It all goes on the shelf, man can't be seen to grieve, to weep, everything goes inside, all his loss, all his regret at not loving her enough to keep her alive, he can't show it, so he drinks, fights, causes pain to himself, any man sees it in the face of other men, all that pain locked away.
Listen to his song Millionaire as a palate cleanser. The stereotype of country music being sad isn't totally unearned.
Edgar Pryor the song Millionaire was written and originally done by Kevin Welch. I like chrisâ version more.
Good ole country style RnB!! Good stuff. Good review
You have had a rough couple days with deeply emotional songs huh .. keep up the excellent reactions .
Very emotional but thank you!
Honest and straight forward reactions. Most country songs will tell a story. Keep the reactions coming.
@@TOOSUSHI You should react to Devil Named Music by Chris Stapleton it's pretty heavy as well
My husband has bi-polar depression. Most days are great, but when it's bad, it's really bad. His sister had it too, and killed herself at 39 years old. This is such a real video. đą
My wife was Bipolar and the shifts from heaven to hell were stupefying and sudden. I eventually lost her and could never go through the pain of trying another relationship again. Trauma, I think. But I had the gift, for 7 years, of living with the most wonderful spirit I have ever encountered in this world. I'm glad I didn't miss it.
The first time I heard this song I was taken over by his voice. Then I watched the video and listened more closely and it broke my heart.
watching this, when says she dont really understand it. then when she starts to play it and realizes what its about , her mouth slowly open like I cant believe it... that is Strong,
Honestly I bought Chris's album and listened through it and Fire Away wasn't my favorite so I rarely listened to it but once I watched the video I look at it in a whole new light so beautiful and sad with an amazing message.
All i can say is my Mom, my oldest sister. Mental health issues came out of the shadows a little late. Being the youngest i was spared.
I was coming out of pill addiction and it gave me strength. Also made me realize even more how seriously mental issues are. When you're forced to produce a video and you decide to do it with taste, compassion and beauty.......well it's just fucking admirable and amazing.
The actor in the video is Ben Foster. He's a fantastic actor you've likely seen before. He was in 3:10 To Yuma with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. He was also in Lone Survivor with Mark Wahlberg and The Messenger with Woody Harrelson, as well as many other films.
I just found this, it's years old, but I have to answer the question posed before you started the video. What I was doing when I first heard this song was crying. Just. So much crying.
Chris Stapleton is so amazing, you could easily do a 7 days of Chris Stapleton and it would be awesome. He has so many great songs
To see your facial expressions towards the end of the song . You get it, life is rough and we really never know the path that we will be lead one đą
yep yep Chris does it his way , raw like Sushi , i feel how he be
Thanks Cockedhammer!!
@@TOOSUSHI and i feel as if i'm a stan , much the same ill be ya fan
i can tell when you are about to cry you move your lips up and down and i know you fill the pain in the song
My first time hearing this was back in 2015 when it was first released. I just got out of a mentally abusive relationship and I remember heading home when this song first played in my vehicle.
Chris Stapleton (Sometimes I cry)
True country artists always provide a story. Chris is very very good at it making it life-like in a way. These are things that happen to real people. Nowadays country isn't exactly country. Some are going for the Glam and the glitter or whatever the f*** you want to say LOL Chris wants to keep in my eyes the roots where they should be. Telling a story that we all know is life like and every day softens the heart and keeps you more grounded, especially with a voice like that.
Chris made the video to bring awareness to mental illness and depicts the 5 signs of emotional suffering. At the time the only video he released. At the end it shows the website for changedirection.org. I teared up watching the video and his unconditional love for her but it brings up a subject that people need to talk about and bring awareness to.
I first heard this at a friend's place. I cried hearing this cause I went throu this and she ended up taking her life .
This is honestly the first time I saw any of the music video but am very familiar with the song. Chris Stapleton has written soooo many good songs and when he finally came out with his own album I knew it would be fire. The whole Traveler album is great. What are you listening to is another Stapleton Classic that didnât make it onto the traveler album. His singing/songwriting/guitar playing is phenomenal. But first time I heard this was actually when me and my wife had just been in an argument. Went inside and apologized immediately after hearing this song. Lol
But for a more up lifting song try âI was wrongâ from Chris Stapleton. Great voice, my favorite artist
still gets me every time. an amazing song with a powerful message in the video.
the more i watch your reactions the more i see what a good heart you have.keep it up and thank you
2016, three years after loosing my wife to PTSD, she got from being law enforcement, and alcoholism. She barely lived through a DUI crash. People say thatâs not âloosingâ someone but I disagree. The woman she was is gone forever. This song reminds me every time I hear it. Iâm not ashamed to say it gets me every time.
You have beautiful hair. Also you have expressions that move people thru a range of emotions. You have a gift
Great song but the video is rough as hell! But it brings awareness to a very real issue!!! Great job!! đ€â€ïžđ€
You have the best honest reactions. Love watching your face when you like something.
first time hearing was when I went to his concert and the feel and chills from the crowd singing it with no instrumental play was powerful
Awesome reactions! I can imagine not knowing anything about the songs going in then they are emotional roller coasters is tough! Cool you are opening up you music so much!
Love your openness to other genras of music. If people in the world were as open and willing to listening to other people's views before judging and condemning, we'd all be better off. Keep up the great work. đ
Your reactions, your facial expressions, your analysis of the music. You're absolutely beautiful inside and it shows through your expressions and eyes during the songs
After almost losing my husband! Iâm bipolar, I was manic and untreated. But because Iâm a rapid cycle type I was a mess up and down up and down, itâs hard after 20 years. I donât know why I stopped the meds that time but I did. I was listening to sad songs trying to feel sorry for myself. As one does... I heard this and thought, â Damnnnn, that is me. He puts up with it. All he wants is to not lose me this way.â I met up with him and broke down and told him I was scared and he told me we would do it together. It wasnât just on me, and it wasnât fair to try to do it all by myself. Itâs work, but itâs sooo worth it. First time in my life I honestly didnât try to be normal anymore.
Great song, great reaction... We all have to go through so much in life, that is why certain songs resonate with us. Tears of joy, tears of pain... tears of love.
At work and it came on and I thought wow amazing song play it all the time.
i was in my truck having a bad day and heard this song. I cried the whole song and maybe an hour after that. Such a great song.
I love this young lady and her reactions, she's so adorable!!
I watched your video's for a little while and i love all kinds of music but only reason i subscribed to you is because i love your reactions...not to mention your beauty is an added pleasant surprise...
when i first heard this song i was laying down in the dark listening to this album with my earphones when i first discovered him such an amazing talent this man has
SHE'S ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. THE HAIR OOOO SO BEAUTIFUL.
Please listen to "Tennesee Whiskey"...."I was wrong" or "Sometimes I cry" ...all of those are Chris Stapleton. Keep up the great job !!!
As a veteran having served from 1972 to 2000 I would appreciate it if you were to listen to Sailor Jerry, Hallelujah, Veterans version. I can only find it on CZcams. It really speaks to me. I was awarded 3 purple hearts, a silver star and bronze star in Nam.
Sushi you have so much emotion!!!! More feelings than most people and you really are so sincere!!!! The sadness in this video was painful!!!
This is my first time hearing this and it is a great song!! I'll give ya a throw back. Richeous brothers---- youve lost that lovin feeling. A 1964 duo back when music spoke to you.
@Ray Marshall oh ok..i need to go thru and find it
