I wouldn’t compare the two. Leo was given his first roles because of his looks. He learned how to become an amazing actor in the industry, but he wouldn’t have had a shot if they had not found him attractive. Timothée went to a Private Performing Arts High School in NYC, he had his first professional role booked before he left (based on his talent). Leo has also been in the industry for 2 decades longer and has only been in 8 more films than Timothée. This young man works hard to become the character he is playing. The reason he is so desired has VERY LITTLE to do with his looks, and everything to do with his talent. Example, in call me by your name the character he plays speaks English, French, Italian, and some German. He learned the languages in less than a week. His character also plays the piano classically, and breaks the songs down. While breaking them down he plays them as if he were different artists. That takes raw talent. He learned in ONE practice session. Which is insane considering he had never touched the piano before. I will just say this, If he had played Jack- he would have been the person actually drawing Rose.

Imagine anyone else talking about how this magical chocolate will grow your hair and give you confidence to kiss a girl, they sound like a charlatan, but Wonka actually MEANS IT!

There is no reason that even ONE of these amazing songs shouldn’t have been nominated for an Oscar! Especially “A World Of Your Own”, that song honestly rivals “Pure Imagination” for me. And “Hat Full Of Dreams” is one of those songs you’re absolutely happy to have stuck in your head.

I skipped through all the songs because they all sucked. Are you serious? I was cringing watching the entire thing. How does a producer watch the first two and even the second one was absolute garbage and then watch his own version and decide that this is something that should be released? Sometimes you need to just decide a project and the end result is junk and don’t make it public. I feel bad for the people who actually went and watched this in theaters. This makes Johnny Depp’s version actually watchable…

So, a fun little story on how I saw Wonka and ended up liking it a lot:
Late December of last year to this past January, one my family relatives and I decided to see a movie at AMC once a week for four weeks. Our third one was INTENDED to be "The Boy and the Heron," but when I booked the tickets and got to our usual AMC, the staff member at the stand scanned the QR code and said "The Boy and the Heron" stopped showing at the theater since three weeks prior, and I see that I booked it for the wrong AMC theater. That said, the staff member was generous enough to honor our ticket for any other movie that was airing at the time, and we ended up seeing "Wonka" and still saw "The Boy and the Heron" the following week. I went into "Wonka" thinking not much initially. The franchise was always fun enough growing up, but I kinda assumed Warner Bros was going for nostalgia-bait with a prequel and it would end up falling short. But no, it was funny, charming, and Timothee Chalamet continues proving his range as an actor. Imagine the whiplash for anyone not familiar with his roles, they watch him in "Wonka," then immediately watch him in "Dune 2."

I totally agree! I get if you grew up or watched the Gene Wilder one first, but don't go hating or saying that Charlie and the chocolate factory is not good. It is closer to the novel so that's more cannon of the story, and I just think CATCF is a more mature version than Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory.

Two recommendations for you since you watched this film:
    1. Ghosts: A British comedy series about a couple who inherit a manor & after an accident one can now see the ghosts that linger in the place they died. I mention it because Mathew Baynton (Fickelgruber), Simon Farnaby (Basil the Zookeeper, plus writer of Wonka) and Charlotte Ritchie (woman who marries in the 'never had chocolate' song) all play main characters in it. Like the best UK comedies it's not only funny but incredibly emotional when it needs to be. I could not recommend it more.
    2. Matilda the Musical: A year before Wonka we got the film adaptation of the stage musical based on the book Matilda (not based off the American film version). It's a fantastic film adaptation of a fantastic musical that I think is even better than Wonka, casting a highly talented lot of children who have been on stage. Sadly it got a bit overlooked, probably Netflix's doing not giving it much publicity (fortunately I saw it in the cinema three times).

this movie felt like a classic Disney movie to me. the villains were right out of one of the classic Disney animated greats like 101 Dalmations etc.

Timothee Chalamet went from singing about chocolate to becoming the Lisan Al Gaib that will lead us to paradise! Now that is acting range! Timmy has that pull man. This movie made $600 million and Dune 2 is still making a shit ton of money, and he's an amazing actor. He's this generation's Leo "Ladies and gentlemen of the Gallery Gourmet, my name is PAUL MUAD'DIB ATRIEDES, SON OF LETO ATRIEDES, DUKE OF ARRAKIS!!!!" The Paddington films from the same director are a must. Timothee Chalamet with two back-to-back critical and financial hits with Wonka and Dune: Part Two. This movie is very sweet. 43:26 - They were following the original story here, which is a book. The tallest Oompa Loompa is knee height. A well-done movie and a nice musical. I enjoyed all 3 movies, they were each of their time and were entertaining in their own way. So, a fun little story on how I saw Wonka and ended up liking it a lot: From late December of last year to this past January, one of my family relatives and I decided to see a movie at AMC once a week for four weeks. The franchise was always fun enough growing up, but I kinda assumed Warner Bros was going for nostalgia bait with a prequel and it would end up falling short. But no, it was funny and charming, and Timothee Chalamet continues proving his range as an actor. Imagine the whiplash for anyone not familiar with his roles, they watch him in "Wonka," then immediately watch him in "Dune 2." This movie was definitely ROBBED for Best Hate Song & best production design Oscar nominations. Timmy's performance was also one of the underrated ones of last year ngl Such a fun movie with catchy songs. Glad you reacted to it :)
12:24 “A that is stealing.. and C..” he just completely skipped B You guys should definitely watch the Paddington films on your channel. Sad that the media didn't like this movie. That lady could just take her daughter to the barber shop to shave the mustache A lot of this was filmed in Bath where I live, they covered the streets in snow during the height of summer. It was great to watch! Oh, you guys would absolutely LOVE Paddington 1 AND 2. We'll be waiting guys. Wonka is one of my FAVORITE movies of all time!!! We have Seth Rogen, Jason Momoa, Keegan Micheal Key, and Mathew Lillard watching Wonka Nice Two recommendations for you since you watched this film: 1. Ghosts: A British comedy series about a couple who inherit a manor & after an accident one can now see the ghosts that linger in the place they died. I mention it because Mathew Baynton (Fickelgruber), Simon Farnaby (Basil the Zookeeper, plus writer of Wonka) and Charlotte Ritchie (the woman who marries in the 'Never Had Chocolate' song) all play the main characters in it. Like the best UK comedies, it's not only funny but incredibly emotional when it needs to be. I could not recommend it more. 2. Matilda the Musical: A year before Wonka we got the film adaptation of the stage musical based on the book Matilda (not based on the American film version). It's a fantastic film adaptation of a fantastic musical that I think is even better than Wonka, casting a highly talented lot of children who have been on stage. Sadly it got a bit overlooked, probably because Netflix's not giving it much publicity (fortunately I saw it in the cinema three times). I enjoyed this film a lot Filled with heart and a lot of fantastic songs!! This was probably my favorite movie of 2023. Months later I still have some of the songs in my head and regularly listen to the soundtrack lol Not the BEST movie of 2023, my favorite Need a reaction to Paddington 1 and 2! Amazing wholesome movies done by the same director I believe and a lot of silly fun! Definitely worth a watch guys! This was such a fun movie with great music and fantastic performances This one is so whimsical and charming. I took my daughter and husband and watched it in the cinema and we all went out smiling and in a good mood. besides the fact they look badass is there any reason Rick wears red glasses or perhaps he is trying to be the next daredevil oh wow I didn't realize but y'all are so right the coin is like the one charlie finds that's so cool!! The way you guys talked about the cravings part is great. A lot of actors from Ghosts in this. Erick and the guys have no …what is the word …Aaron said it…IMAGINATION Seething Wonka and Dune back to back give me all kinds of whiplash. This is like Barbie and Oppenheimer all over again. 2009 Dr. Ball This movie was such a great surprise. I watched the Gene Wilder one as a kid and all but it was never huge to me. that being said this movie still teared me up by the end. I remember someone saying that the original is an adaption, Johnny Depp is the novel, and this movie was the Musical Theatre adaption. Hence why all the differences and not fully prequel feel. Paddington 1 and 2 are awesome wholesome movies from the same director as Wonka! With Hugh Grant and plenty of Harry Potter actors in them too! Definitely worth a reaction I saw this movie a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by it. While I’m not sure if any of the songs will be iconic, they’re all pretty fun musical numbers. I just thought it was a nice, cute movie. The bit where he sees his mom in the crowd briefly makes me tear up a bit. I haven't been this addicted to music since The Greatest Showman, unsurprisingly Hugh Grant as Oompa Loompa was easily the best part of the movie. Wonka is a true cinematic masterpiece!. wow... Eric telling the story about the Christmas gift he got from his GF made me tear up Coming into this hoping they’ll like it, will defo come out being sad they haven’t got to Paddington yet This is the okayest movie I've seen. But Keegan Michael Key and Hugh Grant were awesome! I kinda wanna know the story of how he went from this to becoming a recluse and locking himself away in the factory for years This was better than I expected. Oh, I love this movie!!! Many thanks to Eric, Rick, Calvin, and Aaron! All hail director Paul King. 3:31 NOW PLAYING NBA playoffs breakdown with ESPN’s Malika Andrews Good Morning America 20 views 15 minutes ago You HAVE to react to the Paddington films, Paddington 2 especially - one of the best and underrated films of all time! - directed by Paul King who did Wonka :) Eric looks like a Chad. I'd call it a glow but you know my man was always looking good four months late. Glad you guys are finally seeing it lol. Great movie One of those films that was better than it probably should've been. Leans into the sort of stage show camp just enough. I am not a fan of musicals at all so when I say I enjoyed this, it obviously did something right. Wonderfully charming. Took my son to see it on Christmas. Was honestly impressed pure imagination man… will never fail to make me cry Eric: I feel like the only course of action is to kill them! Aaron: Kill them?!? Calvin: I’m kinda with Eric Eric: This is a kind of Environment. We gotta fight back! Oh my gosh, I'm so happy right now While Dune: Part 2 had my favorite Timmy performance, Wonka was a delightful surprise. This movie felt like a classic Disney movie to me. the villains were right out of one of the classic Disney animated greats like 101 Dalmations etc. I watched entirely for some of the Horrible Histories cast and it just makes me happy to see them together. Especially after Ghosts... I like the (not so) subtext of the corrupt powerful in this movie. Loved your reaction as always. You should watch Society of the Snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one React to the Corpse Bride movie This movie was so much better than it had any right to be. Love the music and how over-the-top it is. I'm probably out of the loop, but when did Rick become a blind lawyer? Why does Rick look like a Russian hitman or the villain in the next Blade movie? Every time I see you guys, you look more like ZZ Top. villain song? Wow.. they cut out the villain's chocolate song from the React. Wtf Accidents can solve a lot of problems Tears of the Sun. Please. Bruce Willis. Dune 2 was released digitally and you watch Wonka from the standpoint of actors who have surpassed the roles of short stature are opposed to being them just because they are short however from the standpoint of those with stature issues they do need the roles to get a start unfortunately and with peter Dinklage denouncing it really did cost hundreds of actors with dwarfism careers because they can't get a start now Feel like every reaction Calvin either looks sick or tires and Rick the usual 0-0 reaction face all movie Sad that the best song wasn't in this reaction. With the success of the 2023 movie Wonka staring Timothée Chalamet as the famous candy man Willy Wonka Netflix needs to do an Original Movie of Charlie and the chocolate factory The Musical based off of the West End production where it started from back in 2013 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. The reason why I like the London's West End version of Charlie and the chocolate factory and the reason why it's my favorite because they used child actors to play Augustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike and Charlie. Their casting of child actors to play the five Golden Ticket winners is much better than the Broadway and U.K. Tour versions a few years later. In this Netflix Original Movie it will be stared by the same actor Timothée Chalamet who played Willy Wonka but this time after he ran his factory for many years he decided to invite five children to visit his factory and the story will be like the West End version because it's ok to have a stage show that follows the book and it doesn't always have to be like the 1971 and 2005 films. Also, here are the songs that Netflix should use from the West End version, Broadway version and stage school/community theatre productions of Willy Wonka.
    1. Opening
    2. Golden Age of Chocolate
    3. Almost Nearly Perfect
    4. The Amazing Fantastical History of Mr. Willy Wonka
    5. A Letter from Charlie Bucket
    6. News Of Augustus/More Of Him To Love
    7. News Of Veruca/When Veruca Says
    8. Think Positive
    9. News Of Violet/The Double Bubble Duchess
    10. News Of Mike/It's Teavee Time!

    11. If Your Mother Were Here
    12. Don'cha Pinch Me, Charlie/I've Got A Golden Ticket
    13. It Must Be Believed To Be Seen
    14. Strike That, Reverse It
    15. The Chocolate Room/Simply Second Nature
    16. Augustus' Downfall/Auf Wiedersehen Augustus Gloop
    17. There's No Knowing
    18. Gum!/Juicy!
    19. In This Room Here
    20. Veruca nutcracker sweet
    21. Vidiots
    22. Pure Imagination
    23. A Little Me
    24. It Must Be Believed to Be Seen (Reprise)
