Next time when visiting Ghana I will directly travel to James town to buy Bread on leaf and fish🙏🏻🥂☀️
Definitely ❤💖✌
@@cookingwithsindaco Me too 😋 I can smell it online.
Nice one bans
Exactly 💯
I miss my childhood in Mamprobi, we used to work for a bread baker, most of the neighborhood kids our job is to clean the leaves and grease it, mostly to be paid a loaf of bread it was really a fun job all the neighborhood kids love doing. It started all the way in Jamestown and now it's been done across Regions in Ghana 🇬🇭
Very true 👍 👌 they sometimes also mold some of the bread like a baby for the children who come around to work.... I most times toast mine under the colpot. ❤✌🥰😛 interesting moments ❤😛
45 years of selling bread. I would certainly support this small business.
❤✌🥰🔥👏👏
After forty years, it's the time they have a good room built for the operation. Time to upgrade with proper tables and out of open with all the dust around.
This should be our KFC
GBL(Ghana 🇬🇭 bread on leave)☺️👍🏾
✌️😁😄😀✌️
All natural and I bet the aroma the leaves gives the bread also adds to the flavor. Eco friendly also. Thanks for sharing. I wish I can try it.
I use the eat baami blodo growing up in La, Abormi. There's another leaf called aluguntugui from the soar sop leaf and that one too was so delicious and the smell was nice. I don't know why nowadays all the good stuff we use to enjoyed have been replace by artificial stuff. nice to see that my people still kept the tradition going.
Wow💖
It really sad to see all what our forefathers were using then being changed 😔
Never too late for us to revive our traditional foods. That’s one of my passions is to keep our local cultural food alive even if we make small modifications, we can’t afford to loose all!
Because we think that is a sign of progress. In my village we are experiencing a dry spell and yet people don't want to grow drought resistant crops like sorghum because they are considered old fashioned 🤦🏾♀️. They would rather starve and wait for free relief maize from the government. Smh.
Very true 👍 👌 👏 we can't loose all
I know those bread must be extremely tasty. If I come to Ghana I will certainly stop by. Much ❤ from 🇯🇲
It is, very delicious bread😋 you have to
The best bread anyone can eat. Everything is organic, and that leave is medicinal.
Wow! This brings back a lot of memories of the old days in Grenada, these type of ovens bake the best bread and cakes :). I also remember visiting Jamestown on my first trip to Ghana.
🔥🕺❤✌️✌🥰
I think Ghana should bring back the leaf for all foods its the best 👌 👍
Very true 👍
Ghanians have so much versions of bread it's crazy...n they all taste great
I wish I had know about this place when I went to Jamestown
I wanted to cry when I saw that butter going into that bread...omg...I wanted to bite my phone
😅😅😅
This is one of the best bread baked in Ghana, the aroma alone is something else oooo
Wow, very interesting video to be able to see the bread baking process upon close ❣️ Love the fact that this bread has no chemical additives, pure natural product, this is why I prefer to bake my bread at home. Supermarket bread always have additives where I live & even most of the Bakeries as well.
Wholesome to see how the family (I presume they are family members) are working together & the business has been thriving for so long, it means they have a quality product, may God continue to bless their work/bakery ✨🙌🏼💞🫶🏼✨❣️
Wow organic leaf bread! Looks yummy and healthy, I'll like to taste this one day.
Very delicious and healthy food ❤💖🥰
I was raised on it all the way from Grenada 🇬🇩
Wow ❤️
This is how I remember my the people baking in Trinidad and Tobago up until maybe the early 70's
Oh really, that's interesting 🥰🥰
Wow this is authentic. Very natural. This is the kind of business the government has to be investing in and be promoting.
Well done Sindaco🥰🙏🌹🌷
Thank you @filo 🙏💯❤️👌👍 very authentic and healthy business 👌
This is not new
Yes it not new, but how many people knows about this bread on leaf.?
Ghanaians so everything the government?
You are right my dear
I love seeing bread made locally. Hopefully one day when I visit Ghana I shall definitely visit this place. I'm drooling.
My brother am feeling this bread ooo from Nigeria this is the best best healthy African made am proud of you people
Thank you ❤️💯💪😍
That's a very good family business very proud of all of them!👏 👏 👏 👍 👌
The leaves look like katamfe - Ewe eran (Thaumatococcus daniellii), it can give a sweet taste to anything that is baked in it.
Now I know the origins of our Jamaican “hard dough” bread! This reminds me of my boyhood days at the bread shop! Heavy dense sweet bread fresh from the oven with margarin!! 😍😍🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 love this!
😍💪❤️💯
We have something similar in Cameroon in the anglophone part of the country 😋😋😋
@@Anonyme67 I just love to find out about our cultural history! We have such a wonderful heritage yet we have moved so far away from it for western culture! So sad!! ❤️❤️❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Soo true 👍
I had Jamaican n Haitian bread and then went to Gh and I think it’s the same stuff. Light bread. But Zimbabwean bread is heavier tasting n just has its own thing. It’s filling compared to the other 3 , I wonder wat the ingredient is that changes the game🤔 American bread is it’s own thing too, different breads worldwide🤦🏼♀️
From Putrajaya Malaysia 🇲🇾.. Wowww...👍😍

I lived in La and sold bread on weekends. This bread was common back in the day. The aluminum baking sheets was a late entrant.

You channel came up as recommendation today (Thurs. 3 Feb 2022). I want to learn more about 🇬🇭 & African culture I was denied in British schools. I love bread and this looks so delicious. I love the 100+ year story about how it all started and the health benefits from using the leaves
Hello Angela 👋
I welcome on board, and thanks for watching ❤✌️ so basically this bread 🍞 bakery is in Ghana 🇬🇭 (James town) and they use leaves in their bakings. Very healthy and the taste is absolutely delicious 😋🤩 and heavy as well.. so as said in the video it a generational thing and they have held till now. And most of the comments I received really testify that people really know them and they have authentic bread in the market.... I have other videos about Ghana local dishes that you'll like. THANK YOU 😊
AOh my sisters you have reminded me of my mother late Auntie Efua Ako of Wenchi post office, is the same way we used to bake bread, l am glad to know you are still using the same old days methods. Keep it up my dear sister's and son's. I will definitely visit you at James anytime l will be in Accra. Keep up the good legacy and pass it on to the next generation until we see Christ🙏🤗🤗🤗🥰

I'll tell you best bread ever. There's a difference between food you make with love or food you just make, I'll tell you Caribbean Brothers and sisters make the best food and healthiest, we don't just put peppers powder on everything, we make our spice from scratch, everything we make from scratch. lol........ soul, soul, soul, soul. Whenever I see an old black gorgeous African woman like in the video I think about my Mom.
