- I don't normally get flustered by things, but lying to the police to get them to do your bidding winds me up!!! Making a false report is a criminal offence, will the police farce take any action against those who made such a false report ? I highly doubt it, and that shows two tier policing in my opinion !!!

From the NPCC for all police forces - users/officers should announce their use of body-worn video, in clear and concise language, as soon as this is possible/practicable.
When police approach you it's best to ask them to take their hands out of their pockets for your safety.
It makes perfect common sense that if you have a job where some people are aggressive. It's a good idea not to have hands. In pockets as can't defend yourself or put your hands out to the floor if Sucker punched.. Dumb cops eh
Someone is trying to get into the building so we're going to speak to a person flying a drone. Some cops are severely intellectually short and should get better mental health care if they struggle like this.

I think you were wise to be as cooperative as you were because auditors are being stripped of their anonymity by police misusing section 50. Notice at the end copper numbrr two tried to find out where your car was. They appear personable but are relentless. He wanted your ID very badly.
They could easily have got his ID if they actually did want it that badly. As they knew he had been the pilot of the drone, they could use the Air Traffic Management and Unmanned Aircraft Act 2021, "a power to require a person who the constable has reasonable grounds for believing is or was the remote pilot of an unmanned aircraft for a flight (“A”)-
(i)to provide information, documentation or other evidence relating to A’s compliance with any requirement relating to A’s competency to be the remote pilot of the unmanned aircraft for the flight;
(ii)to provide information relating to the identity of a person who is or was the UAS operator of the unmanned aircraft, or made the unmanned aircraft available to A, for the flight;"

The coppers should have used due diligence and called the tower before they came out to you and waste your time. Its revolting that your time is wasted and they dont care. You are not there to teach them the law. Its for them to investigate. He lied too. This call out wasnt about the drone, it was to get to you because of what the hotel is doing. Then they tried to glean your info.
I personally wouldn't have told them a thing. They should call the tower. Its up to them to investigate and NOT restrict your movement until they know for sure that you are guilty of an action.
Id personally let them arrest me. his is the ONLY way that they will learn.
Edit... I also would treat the coppers with contempt. Be as rude as I can. This too is a way of teaching them not to mess with the innocent. They came to you, they were called erroneously and they in turn will teach the hotel staff a lesson.

The police are clearly lieing. More concerned about a drone than someone attempting to get into the building which they were “called out” for. You need to get the incident report and then file a complaint

These are no longer hotels. They are immigrant centres. Commandeered by the government then converted. I wonder who agreed this from the hotel company side? Or have they been sold to the government. Were the former hotels failing prior to being converted? I gather they have rooms filled with bunk beds and fixed menus. Not exactly hotel standards to be fair.but to stoke devision the government used hotels instead of disused buuildings. Lots of shady aspects to this.

Second cop does not seem to have a notice on his camera saying it is recording. Maybe the cops should get some new sticker they can out on the camera when they old ones ware off/ Hard to believe they don't have spare stickers at the station

The written warning on the camera is very small and easily missed by people with poor sight as they get older, people not looking at the camera people who cannot read, people for who English is not a first language. Yet again, a false report and they do nothing about it. Pleasant enough police officers, and no constant fishing for details. the officer though seeming ok , when asked about him filming he said you can see it is and it clearly states, though some have been worn off , and we take it for granted everyone knows we record ,,,,,,,,, NO you are supposed to announce you are recording, if you had a camera with wording worn off , how would members of public know ......

All uk police forces have agreed to and contributed to a BWC (body worn camera) policy due to their legal obligation to follow Data Protection.
There is a document available that lists all police forces and law enforcement agencies that have agreed to this policy.
Why didn't they give you their names and numbers and tell you they were filming as soon as they started chatting with you

Maybe you should fly the drone and not wait for their permission as you have it already (or wait for them to leave so they cannot have your operator ID)

@@kensukadventures628 I don't think they had reasonable suspicion but as the point of auditing if that's what he is doing is not to give your details to the police then he should not have helped them with the phone number for the tower who would possibly give the cops his operator ID which could be used to identify him. (is / were / should the cops be given that ID or is that DATA protection) If he is not auditing then why not just tell the police who he is
I had already been there an hour by this point, I wasn't going to wait another 20-30 mins for them to end up where we would end up anyway, with the tower having my details and confirming who I am. It was just saving me 20 mins of my own time 😂. The drone makes it a lot more difficult to remain anonymous completely 😅.
@@thetruth9210 They only need reasonable suspicion he was or is the pilot, seeing as they had a report of a drone being flown, and he is standing there with a drone in the bag and a drone controller on the wall right next to him and when asked if he been flying he says possibly- there is way more than enough reasonable suspicion he was flying. Problem is hardly any cops know the legislation.
@@LightsCameraRuction Do whatever you feel best you are there I am not. The cops might have given up trying to contact the tower if they could not find the number. You didn't have to tell them you have even contacted the tower and you could have walked off any time you were not detained

On the subject on police detainment, as I’ve heard you asking the police if you are detained on a couple of videos. Unless you are being arrested or they are exercising statutorily defined stop-and-search powers, the Police are not allowed to detain you whilst deciding whether to arrest you or not. That’s not to say they won’t try it on though.
Don’t take my word for it, check legislation yourself. We don’t want to get bunged in the back of the Black Maria do we.
Why ask to fly, you should have just taken off. And eventually you will stop being so nice to these criminals.

Northumbria Police approach is in line with the practice recommended by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC).
Which states: To ensure compliance with principle 1, the DPA and other DPA principles, forces wishing to use BWV should:
Announce, where possible/practicable, to the subject(s) of an encounter that video and audio recording is taking place using BWV.
