It’s how the suspension is, all coilovers need to be welded on. That’s how it is factory, you have to cut off the stock suspension. They are welded from factory. Most Toyota’s in the 80s are like that
Just curious you cut the bump stops out cause the rear was really bouncy? I just did coils and didn't cut the bump stops and it's RIDICULOUSLY bouncy in the rear
These cars really need coilovers as the stock suspension causes huge body roll when drifting. Question, what made you go with these over BC's? Cheers from Burlington wa!
Nice ride! I plan on getting these for my mk2 Supra. Just wondering how's the coilovers holding up? Can the damper adjustment compensate for the really stiff Springs or is it still crazy Stiff on the softest damper setting? I usually drive my car on the weekend to hang out or hit a car show. I'm leaning more towards Meagan because it comes with the camber adjustment and it also goes the lowest for the money.
It’s really stiff and still holding up great, perfect for holding a good fitment and not rubbing over bumps an such. If you want low go with Megan. If you want ride quality get bc. If you want low and ride quality, get custom bc extreme lows
Hey dude. About to pull the trigger on these coilovers for my x7 build. I would probably never need to go any lower in the front that where yours maxed out at, but do you think you could you could cut an inch or so of the coilover sleeve off before welding? That could get you lower if you wanted but you could also get the rideheight you have if maxed out with the cut coilover is too low?
Cool. Im an old dude in Virginia Beach now, but grew up in FW. Had fun drifting all over that area back in the early 2000’s. From BL, the 167 warehouses, Bremerton drift days etc. Had fun with all my car buddies up there. I miss all the fun roads and car scene. Thanks for the cress vids man
Quick question I have BC coilovers on my Cressi but my rear suspension is very bouncy I was told that I can remove the bump stoppers what’s the point of removing those would it make your ride more smooth?
Yes remove the bump stops, you’re suspension is bottomed out and sitting on the bump stops. Allowing no suspension movement, good for not rubbing and holding fitment but you ride like ass.
@@jtizle82 damn i only asked cause i seen another video that they make the spindle to go into it, another question how come megan ? and not BC or Furtune? would you recommend drop springs instead of coil?
Megan’s go lower then bc unless you get extreme lows, I didn’t wanna spend the extra buck. I’ve had Megan’s and bc and fortunes before. I prefer Megan’s just my opinion
This is mx73, you can use these coils in the front with a t3 top hat. Or drill out one hole for the top hat to fit. You won’t be able to get the right caster tho.
Looking good, the community for these cressidas are dying unfortunately, glad you're keeping it alive!
Just bought one for my first car completely stock. Keep it alive
Will you be able to do the cutting and welding for the second time when you replace the current coil overs?
Cresseda looking good
OLD GUY RACING thanks man!
hey maybe i’m silly for asking this but what’s the purpose of welding the coil overs? do they have to be? or is it for stiffness?

Junior Kapkeo yeah cut them out, you riding on the bump stops

Fairhaven Park Megan’s go lower, didn’t wanna pay the extra buck for extreme lows
@@jtizle82 extreme lows don't cost more, lol, ordering mine this week only $100 more than the megans
What size are those wheels? They look great!

@@jtizle82 thanks for the info, what spring rate would you recommend for the front and rear?
Depends on what you want, try out the stock rates first and you can just change it up later by getting swift springs

You don’t wanna cut anything, you would want to get shorter shock inserts
Word. Havent had them in my hands yet. Thanks for the info. You up in WA?
Yeah Tacoma

i need some advice on mx73 coils looking into getting a set does it plug and play or did you have to cut and weld anything?
Darren Herpaul front suspension requires cutting and welding. As shown in the video
Goldbergs Garage do they have anything coils that don’t require welding and cutting ?
Techno toy tuning and I think bc, but I don’t recommend it. Stock spindles are better
