#lornashore #tothehellfire - Hudba
This is literally a deathcore vocal clinic. Guy came outta nowhere and rose to the top
🙌
Will Ramos literally turned a whole population in to Lorna Shore fans.
Cattle Decapitation is much much higher jam, Lorna band makes me laughing hard ... don't get what is here better or different !?
@@_mnejing no fucking lie man. I didn't listen to them before this dropped. My God.
@@LionMetalMusic-videochannelohhh this guy 🙄
Fun fact: this vocalist (Will Ramos) collaborated with The Charismatic Voice on youtube and got a laryngoscopy to see what the bloody hell he's doing to create these sounds, and the scientist administering it wound up having to readjust her idea of what the human throat was capable of. Dude literally established a new baseline for humanities ability to manipulate our own vocal anatomy.
I fucking love the metal community. I hope we never stop exploring musical extremity, and by extension, human extremity.
I really think now that you did this you have to do his one take vocal. Because it really shows his talent.
That sounds amazing.
Insane vox!
Yeah man Ramos is killer. I just got my first acoustic kit and your videos have definitely been an inspiration to learn 🤟🏻
Agreed!!
@Cal Leary seen them live just over a week ago, and Will is an absolute BEAST :) only thing is they didn't get a good sound, but then if they would have Parkway Drive could have gone home....but they couldn't muffle Will.... every one was stumped.... i have never seen it after going to gigs for 40 years when you have a gig with two openers and a headliner the place is filled before it starts... NEVER... so that says everything about how Lorna exploded... here's my little home movie of that: czcams.com/video/PmOnEpSfI8o/video.html
@@AndrewRooneyDrums his one take from that are probably the best extreme vocals i have ever seen after listening to music for 43 years, and i have seen all the big extreme bands live over the last couple of years before the corona worldtour.... those insane high notes he hits around 3:10 in there before that breakdown.... only heard notes that high from Rob Halford or Devin Townsend like that... out of this world... and you're right discovering new music is fun :) enjoyed the hell out of myself seeing them live little over a week ago, they really are something else. hope they come back and next time they will get a good sound, because if they do that will truly be something to behold :)
They are considered blackend deathcore. These guys are masters of the genre! The charismatic voice did a video where they put a camera down wills (lead singer) throat while doing the different vocal styles he does. High screams, deep gutterals, mids. It's crazy! And definitely with a watch!
I saw this Charismatic Voice episode, nicest Dude, and a Demon. What a Voice 😍
I'd say it's blackened symphonic deathcore
What's gnarly is their drummer, Austin Archey, has been playing all this with a herniated disc. Their bassist is filling in for him on their Pain Remains album release tour.
Seeing them the 28th!
The bassist can play this crazy ass shit? My God. That's insane.
@@Mavvyd96 haven't seen them live yet and haven't watched any live performances since I want it to be fresh, so I have no clue.
I would assume I would've heard by now if he was doing a terrible job throughout the community.
@@mitchellyoung7513 lean back, nothing to worry ;)
i heard him several times on hq produced festival videos
@@helli0n824 Awesome! Thanks for the heads up man :)
@@mitchellyoung7513 ;)
Drummer Austin Archey does have some drum play through videos that are worth a watch. The man is a machine!
this drummer has a drum play through of there song "king ov deception" and it is INSAAAANE
Lorna Shore has come along with Will Ramos and turned us all on to deathcore. I never gave it a thought until I heard this song when it first came out. Now I can't stop listening to these guys. Every new song has been amazing.
Facts
Will's vocals, and the direction Lorna Shore is on now, is what I've been waiting for since listening to Graveworm and Dimmu Borgir back in the early 2000's. So I've always been a fan of this style of music, but not many bands can pull it off. Heck, even At the Gates was amazing for their time. Lorna Shore is at their absolute best now, and the Pain Remains album is an absolute masterpiece! 🔥🎸
SAME
So to hit the head of the screw on the tempo. These songs are listed at 140bpm. There’s 32nd and 64th note subdivisions for the blast beats on the drums which make the song appear faster, the tempo still stays the same. Breakdowns drop to 130bpm. Austin Archey is a mammoth behind the set and I’m glad he’s getting his back fixed. This band is incredibly talented. It’s definitely a huge collaborative effort between these guys.
This was the song that Lorna Shore used to introduce Will as their new singer. It seems like they wanted to really highlight what he was capable of as a vocalist.
lorna shore is probably one of the best deathcore bands out right now. will ramos is one of the best vocalists to ever exist. hes such a kind dude and such an amazing vocalist.
This genre is, predominantly "Deathcore"
However this adds a touch of, black metal, and symphonic to it.
Hands down this is the banger of the year in the metal world.
🤘
Well resumed ! But I'd say "of the decade" honestly !
@@etiennelmc5925 I concur!
This is the song that got me into deathcore/blackened deathcore sub genre. Ive always loved MetalCore and hardcore but this broke me into new waters. I love that you like it!
Hi guys. This is an old video I made that was recently unblocked.
I also re edited it as my old vids are quite painful :)

@Andrew, their drummer Austin does have drum videos on CZcams. As another person mentioned. He’s been playing live gigs with a herniated disc. Imagine playing a full set of this music hurt like that. Only recently he finally is taking some time off to get better.
Perhaps view one of his drum videos? Have a great rest of your day.
So, was this before or after your introduction to Infant Annihilator? A band with a lot of the same thematics musically? We know you've done reactions to their drummer more than once.
AFAIK: unfortunately Austin is unable to perform during the band's current tour due to a back injury and their bassist is filling in for them on the drums.
And he can easily do all this crazy stuff as well 🤯
All of the members are insanely talented.
"I'm starting to kind of like it" Yep! That's how it starts with extreme metal 🤘 As far as subgenre, I think of Lorna Shore these days as melodic blackened deathcore with a bit of doom metal thrown in. I found them with the Heavy Metal Cats video someone did using part of Lorna Shore's Life of Fear several years ago. If you're into cats AND aggressive metal it's a win 😼
This is an old vid recently unblocked. I like this stuff far more now :)
@@AndrewRooneyDrums I didn't like harsh vocals at first but loved the music so I kept listening. Then one day I was like "OMG I love them now! ". Curiously the eureka moment happened while listening to Melechesh maybe 12 years ago. Middle Eastern + extreme metal
I seen them live last night and they were superb, tight asf and Will (vocalist) sounds exactly the same live as he does here. Im new to them and this genre too.
I was in Cardiff too, it was great. PWD blew my mind live.
Imo will sounds better live. He sacrifices the ability to understand him but he sounds more gnarly that way. Really loved their Vienna show
What a magnificent guitarsolo that is......!! Thank you.
You bet
I grown to love this band and this track. I'm 67 and love much of the new extreme metal with extreme vocals.
Nice to see these young guys on the scene innovating.
YUP
So close to 100k rooney keep going!
Thanks Connor!
Just randomly stumbled onto this video, but would recommend Of The Abyss by Lorna shore as the drumming goes from the regular timing to a half time change that sounds really good with the flow of the music if you're interested!
Thanks Megan!
You summoned the beast. This song is frightening.
The singer Will Ramos is chill AF.
Austin Archey is quite fast on that kit will blow your mind with that heel toe technique he does that seems to be a trend nowadays in death core and Mr Rooney welcome to world of American Deathcore 🥁🤘
This song is a rollercoaster ride
that double kick would sound sooooooooo sick on HUUUUUGE and massively POWERFUL subs!
Austin Archey is the drummer, he does a one take play through of cursed to die. It’s one of Lorna’s songs and it’s very impressive. I think you’d enjoy it.
Ive been mostly listening to black metal for the past 15 years, but when To The Hellfire and every song after that was released I just cant stop listening to Lorna Shore also trying to get more into the Death/Metalcore music its pretty good stuff ngl. nice chill reaction tho!
This is an old vid (newly unblocked).
I’m a bit more hip to this stuff now 👌
FWIW, I, too, have encountered a good handful of "new" (new to me, I mean) bands and artists through watching reaction videos.
Including Lorna Shore and Jinjer.
Excellent Nigel 🥁👌
this was THE most relaxed reaction to this song i've seen so far. 😉
do the one-take vocal from Will Ramos' channel and you'll hit the 100k.!
...and after the 'hellfire' one take vid you have to check out his Sleep Token vocal cover. both vids display Will's incredible vocal range perfectly.
Yessssss!
This is the kind of reaction videos worth watching. Teachers having an input with experience. NOT PEOPLE JUST REACTING THAT KNOW SQUAT
The Charismatic Voice covers this also , that was my first look - listen
to this , check it out , she also does interview with the singer ,seems
like a very normal guy , just really good at what he does. She also
set up to have a camera up his nose to see what's going on in his
throat when he's doing "that". Interesting stuff .
Absolutely, Will is such a nice and calm guy, I was really surprised when I saw the interview with Elizabeth - he almost seemed a bit shy...
extreme music is like alchool or bluecheese, at first it taste like shit, but the more you fuck with it, the more you crave it!!
100% get that!
This is an old video (recently unblocked)
My views have changed since!
Bravo Sir… bravo for the Dwight Schrute perfection lol
Hehe. Thanks Zachary 👌
Hey Andrew. It's awesome that this was recommended to you, because this band has been gaining A LOT of traction lately. My personal favorite song of theirs is "Sun//Eater" and I will be seeing them live later this month. I bought tickets for the tour the day they went on sale because I knew the show would sell out in no time. Low and behold, it is now sold out. I always like seeing your reaction videos to these extreme metal bands. Keep rocking, dude!
Saw these guys last Friday and they're insane live
I recommend watching the drum play throughs for the band Archspire, spencer is an amazing drummer
Thanks for listening to one of more favorite extreme songs
Blackened death-core is what I heard it's considered. Great vid Andrew!
Thank you. And thanks for the info!
Got to check out the new drum play through of "1984" by Slaughter to Prevail that was just uploaded an hour ago, Theres alot you can touch on in that amazing video!
I think I've been on a similar journey as you. I used to have a hard time listening to harsh vocals, but listening to bands like Jinjer and Opeth it kind of grew on me. As for Lorna Shore, I listened to them at first just because it was so extreme. Now I've come to enjoy the sound. I'm 60, by the way. You don't have to keep on only listening to what you grew up with.
Did you see that Vlad from Jinjer dropped another drum playthrough the other day, btw? Dead hands feel no pain. Check it out!
Little late to this, but MEINL Cymbals just put out his drum play through video of their song “Cursed to Die” 3 days ago. It’s absolutely insane!! Definitely worth checking out.
Oh that sounds great Jacob
Loved your open-mindedness!
🙏
actually so stoked you did this, i never left any comments but i knew this would be a good one, and iv been heavily diving into their music lately and one of their new songs called Pain Remains pt1 is probably the most emotional deathcore song iv ever heard, its impressive what these guys are doing for the metal/deathcore scene rn
There is a Drum play through of this song in the Meinl cymbals channel the drummer is Austyn Archey
regular viewer here. and I loooooove lorna shore. But im also a metalcore/ deathcore drummer so thats why
I did see lorna shore live a year ago when this new ep by them was getting popular and man austin archey is inase. he nails it live on drums.
You are absolutely right in the advice to listen to stuff you normally don't listen to. There is so much out there that you would miss otherwise and you never now what will hit a snare inside of you. Thanks to react channels I have found so many bands, songs, other genres etc. that I know absolutely love! I have seen Lorna Shore live about a week ago, they do not disappoint live. It was awesome! May i suggest Awakening by Unleash the Archers to you if you haven't listened to it already? It's one of those bands that I found trough reaction channels and this song is one of my most listened to songs of the year. The drummer is also awesome! Its more modern power metal then core/black/death metal.
Lorna Shore is worth to see and change minds in music!
I'm with you, Andrew - it was during Covid that I started broadening my musical tastes, and ended up getting into a lot of harder stuff like Lorna Shore. Many of these bands display a high level of artistry that many people dismiss because of the soundscape.
You have been Lorna Shore’d. I hope you enjoyed your stay. Please book with us in the future. Your Lorna Shore moment has been our pleasure. Please see our pamphlets in the back. No refunds or passing your tickets along. You’re stay is our number one priority.
We're TURNING HIM INTO A TRUE METALHEAD GUYS!!! THIS SHIT IS BADASS AIN'T IT BROTHER!!!
I've been a metalhead since the late 90s, but Lorna Shore makes me feel like an old man...because I just find myself laughing at how over the top it is. I'm now the old man who doesn't get it. I started off with Metallica, got into screaming with Pantera, evolved over the years with numerous bands - dig Slipknot, Gojira, Dimmu Borgir, and tons of others...but this is too much. I found my line. The line where it tries to go so hard, so extreme, that I can't help but laugh. Although I did do a deep dive on the drummer when I first heard him. Sometimes I'm suspect when I hear this level of speed and precision, but he does it. And it's not often you see a drummer doing double strokes on the kick drum, but that's why he's fast.
I was waiting the entire video for you to mention it, yet you did not, so hence I am posting this little tidbit of info about the technique that Austin, the drummer, is using. He uses a variation on what is known as a "blastbeat," as it literally is the drums blasting you in the face with a wall of sound. They can get so fast that you can reach doing 1/32 notes at 100+ bpm 🤯
As to the genre, Lorna Shore operates within the "Deathcore" vertical, but has shown the uncanny ability to swing to the very extremes of that genre, from symphonic/melodic (And I Return To Nothingness, Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames, etc) to I-don't-even-know-the-term-for-it deathcore (Into The Earth). However, the most common term used is "blackened deathcore" as there is a lot of influence in the themes, melodies, and techniques carried over from black metal
Felt like a dad listening to this and I'm not even a father. Need to stay more updated!
Ausitn has 2 live drum play throughs from tour earlier this year, on his Instagram, one for this song and another for "Of The Abyss". The audio isn't the greatest because it is a go pro video, but it shows his live playing capability in an unedited setting.
I’m proud of you.
Love all your videos. Definitely was excited to see your reaction to this song though.
Lorna Shore are some of the tightest players in the genre, both in the studio and live. Austin, their drummer, is just an absolute machine. It's absolute wild how they are all giga talented artists on an individual basis and come together without egos and make such amazing music. You should absolutely check out Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames, it's a 'softer' song and has an easier barrier to entry than some of their more extreme stuff (like to the hellfire). But I have absolutely loved everything they've released since acquiring their vocalist Will Ramos.
The crazy thing is that Lorna Shore's vocalist, Will Ramos, does these type of vocals for fun, in his sleep. He is hugely accomplished and there are even some videos floating around showing him doing some songs in one take in the studio.
Elizabeth, from The Charismatic Voice, even brought Will over to her side of the world and took him to a throat specialist so they could put a camera down his throat to see the goings-on in there while he's singing.
It may not be for everyone but one's gotta respect the dude's talent.
I love Elizabeth and that video with the camera down his throat was absolutely incredible! Not only that, Will seems like a well-ground very nice person that had fun with it all.
I’d call Lorna Shore Black Metalcore. If we have to give them a label.
Thank you
It's been cool to see your appreciation grow for more extreme forms. I always equate this stuff to ho sauce. Once you get a tolerance for it, you keep pushing it hotter an hotter
Absolutely honest... I didn't care for anything deathcore really before this song came out... for 2021 and 2022 Lorna Shore was by far and large, my most listened to artist. The last time I fell in love with a band that fast, was in 2002 when my cousin showed me Clayman by In Flames.
Because that's what it was to me. An experience. Unlike anything I had ever heard (though I do listen to a lot of heavy music in general spiritbox/jinjer/in flames/soilwork), so chaotic... but with such deadly precision. It is just so beautiful to me.
LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!!!
Mannnnn that Breakdown at the end of that song always gives me chills!
their drummer Austin Archey has some videos of him doing playthroughs, if you're interested
Slaughter to prevail Demolisher + drumplay to the song
As soon as you made the stank face at the beginning I had to give the video a like 😂 THIS is why I subscribe!!! Also Rooney imitating a mini gun to go along with the double kicks is my new favorite thing in the world right now.
My favorite band out there right now, 10/10 musicianship all around
Haha awesome! I was wondering when this one would come across your radar. And I was hoping you would react to the the whole track. A drum play through on this would be rad to see though. Never hurts to hear something you normally listen too. I remember when ai was playing in my old band my drummer was heavily into metal, but then he started listening to Max Roach and it opened up his drumming style so much. He would come up with some pretty wild stuff.
So
This song is akin to every tradesman on the job site being the right amount of hammered, and they are just showing off.
You have the welder throwing sparks, drawing stuff while making solid welds.
You have the electrician twisting wires and building a box that looks like Tim Burton changed careers.
You have a plumber that decided gravity is HIS subordinate.
And the foreman (you, us) watches and can't help but be fascinated that we have no idea what the hell is going on, but it's one hell of a show. And when they are done they go home while everyone else looks at the finished product saying "it's absolutely a skyscraper but what exactly just fking happened?"
I love Lorna Shore with their new vocalist. Will Ramos became an celebrity overnight in the metal community.
Their recent song “Pain Remains I” has been called a ballad, and the lyrics get to you.
King ov deception drum playthrough is a good one by Lorna Shore
This is Deathcore Metal music, Lorna Shore style.
Btw if you want, you can also check their latest releases Lorna Shore - Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames and Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear, (Part III : In A Sea Of Fire coming out soon too) if you want something a bit different to this as well, still heavy though.
F*cking YESSIR. Symphonic melodic death core. Lorna Shore is on a completely amazing level on their own. Their in a galaxy of their own, everybody else is outside of them. Tc. 🤘😖🤘
I think it's safe to say Lorna Shore pioneered an interesting sound, has this blackened deathcore twist to it.
The musicianship is off the charts here. Austin carries this song hard. All the vocals and melodies are great - but drums take the cake.
I saw them live last Monday. It was the best night ever. They’ll be headlining arenas in the next 12 months, guaranteed. Mindblowing. Check out The Charismatic Voice’s exchanges with Will (vocalist). He’s is the nicest and most talented deathcore vocalist in a generation.
Unlikely they'd be headlining arenas, i mean they are deathcore afterall haha
Love this band! 🥰
Almost 100K subs man!!! you deserve it, just a matter of time now.
I love watching your journey into genres you aren't too familiar with
🙏
Hey, to each their own. But my 60's-80's rock drummer dad overheard this and said "What the fuck is that noise?!" lol.
I hear ya Michael. Good to try new things though. I’ve listened to a bit of this now and am getting used to the subtleties
This guy is a vocal beast and the drummer Austin is in pain while doing this he has a herniated disc unreal
Lorna Shore is Blackened Death Metal [Taking elements from Black Metal] with Symphonic and Orchestral elements.
I dunno if anyone else mentioned this, but you NEED to watch Liz's (Charismatic Voice) on Will at the university. It's insane.
Totally agree with you on good headphones making such a huge difference. Also a good source. Some laptops have great DACs in them, but a lot of people's phones and laptops don't. I have a nice desktop amp/DAC stack on my desk I listen through with my headphones and different headphones depending on the music I'm listening to. I have headphones from Sony, Grado, AKG, Sennheiser, and Hifiman. Been mostly listening to my Grado RS1x lately. Not neutral but fun.
Lorna Shore is amazing. They're a deathcore band. This was the first song they released with their new singer, Will Ramos. He's amazing. Blew everyone away when this track came out. Highly recommend you check out more from this EP.
Dude! I through happenstance got my AKG 240s through sweetwater sound. Super nice guys. They called me after I received my headphones just to ask if evertyhing was good and if I had any questions. This reminds me that they called me a second time a few weeks ago, and they were so nice I feel like I need to return their call. It's late here now, but I'll try to call them back tomorrow.
If someone here could remind me, that'd be super cool.
Just reminding you
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Lol thanks
