Tops 3 to 4 inches, roots cut to 1 inch keep them moist, seaweed bath before you plant. This was extremely helpful information for me to diagnose an issue I'm experiencing and his comment is gone. That is unfortunate as it was an eye opener and definitely changes my strategy moving forward.

Wondering... Jim makes compost tea/extract when laying down the mulch. He's identified his homemade compost as the keystone ingredient for great seedlings. Does he make compost tea from his homemade compost and apply it when he returns from Maine? Maybe this would help boost fertility a touch.
A simple way to make an extract, put a bag of compost in the washing machine on delicate.

I recall him talking about a time management formula he lives by in one of these videos. It was based on 4/4/4, and if I remember correctly it was four hours labor, four hours self-care (he talked about reading and journaling during that time), and four hours for others/giving back/community. Not sure which video it was because each one has so many nuggets of wisdom in them, it's not like it was a specific video topic, but part of the conversation. I also seem to recall he said he was pretty strict about it in order to keep balanced. I think about that when I'm pushing myself too hard, but still have a very hard time disciplining myself to be still and rest because there is always more to be done. But like he said, he's got everything pretty well dialed in. And that's because he has systems in place that he has developed over time.
