- Vegas comes to Lalande in spectacularly sparkly form in this week's gift opening in the chateau...
In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. CZcams earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)

I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖

A treasure. So thoughtful of him to share it. I hope the letter can be inserted in the back of the frame. Should always be kept together.
It was indeed truly amazing. Such a treasure and one that will be very much appreciated by Stephanie. The gentleman's work is amazing and it would be a perfect delight if the design could be made as a gift to the chateau.
I think for a moment Stephanie was speechless, but the look on her face when she realised what and who, was priceless. A truly wonderful gesture to somebody who truly appreciated it.
WOW! The gentleman from Vegas wasn’t kidding when he said he was sending a little razzle dazzle your way! Everything in that box was gorgeous and the girls look like they just stepped of the runway in those dresses! Also, I teared up at the sight of the extremely beautiful sketch by the gentleman from Spode. That is a treasure!

A local charity would be a fantastic idea. Sure there are some in your area (disabilities, illnesses, local hospitals, disadvantaged children and their parents, Resto du Coeur etc). I've noticed you tend to donate to charities abroad and not in France.

Operation Underground Railway that rescues victims of human trafficking, especially children. They are doing amazing work.
Definitely they do such amazing work and always need sanitary items etc for the victims. Human trafficking needs to stop amd more awareness
I agree, human trafficking is getting worse, especially young girls and children , stolen and never seen again, innocent children used to make videos for Pedophiles, girls and boys sold into prostitution. I’ve worked with children and families for 30 years and it just breaks my heart that children are subjected to the basest wishes of the worst of society.😢 it’s even worse as a result of Covid , families with no work and starving children selling their children to try and save the family. Lovely gifts, I’m glad Cadeau has been able to help those in need. 🙋🏼🥰

Childhood Cancer at St. Jude Children's Hospital. They never charge patients. I never miss a vlog, and thank you so much for Joy and Happiness you and La Lander's share with all of us.
My goodness, Parry did not even see your post and I have posted about the same one!! Yes, it is a wonderful cause and I agree with my whole heart. I know the work they have done and do for the children and families. The hospital care if wonderful and they love the children so much. But the need is great for donations as they never keep the money it is used only to keep the hospital going and help for the children and families to have a place to stay in order to be near the children as much and as long as needed. *Not forever as a home of course but as long as needed and in some instances they do need to get a place to live in the area and new jobs*

Given your engagement with the local economy, you might consider contributing to the local women's shelter for victims of domestic violence, which has increased in France during the lockdown. The website for the Federation Nationale Solidarité Femmes (YT won't let us link) has a list of local women's shelters around France which could use your help, per the saga of Valerie Bacot. If shelter had been available to her, her story would have been quite different decades ago. Time France addressed this problem and Lalande, as a woman-owned and run business, could be at the forefront.

Good idea. We do know men too suffer abuse. We forget about this and wonder if they have an organization to help them? They may especially be victims of mental and emotional abuse more than physical, but sometimes physical too. But I know they have more for women though and it is very much needed.

My daughter suffers from MS and they are, hopefully, nearing a breakthrough in this and other neurological diseases. She's been in the hospital twice in 12 months and nearly lost her life the first time. Your mother said some very helpful things to me on chat during that. Amy has to relearn to walk each of these times. She uses a rollator to walk. I would love to suggest the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, who help the people who suffer from MS as well as fund, in turn, the best research. There is cutting edge work being done by a woman in England, and in the United States.

OMG! Those dresses! Each one looks perfect on the one wearing them. Natty's so full of brilliant colors ( needs some red sparkly heels!) And Stephanie's black and silver sophistication with the whimsical feathers (needs silver or black sparkly heels!) Both match their respective personalities.
The sweet little dog Tricky Woo, that was the name of a dog in the All Creatures Great and Small books by James Herriot, (another great Scot) one of my all time favorite authors.

Charity recommendation: Samaritan's Purse. They serve TONS of people in all kinds of distresses around the globe. And one of their main projects is OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD, sending Christmas boxes around the world to children who wouldn't even dream of getting a Christmas gift, since all of you love Christmas.
They are a wonderful organization!

I am currently dealing with Leukemia, perhaps a research charity for various cancers. It would also be nice if we knew the charity at the beginning of the month and that would allow viewers to donate themself perhaps through a special link set up by the charity to count what the viewers donated.

Galgos del Sol is rescuing dogs that are abused and abandoned, they run a center in Murcia spain, Tina Wales Solera is the founder and tireless worker for these animals, they have morethan 200 dogs yearly that are rescued, treated and rehomed …please consider supporting Galgos del sol

That Superhero Scotman is the absolute greatest likeness!! That dress was made for Natie!!
A Biltmore Christmas tree in the courtyard.... How about putting up a metal frame where the fountain is? You could anchor it to the fountain and instead of live or artificial branches, could have strings of outdoor lights in varying colors strung from bottom to top. Tightly, it would be a beacon (every 4 inches or so) or a statement (every ft). At night you would only see the lights. During the day, you could ask Marie to fill the metal structure with natural branches and greenery. You wouldn't need a whole tree. She made the wreath for the front gate....maybe having multiple wreaths in diminishing sizes all the way to the top and ending with a star?

I would love for you to give to the PAN Foundation. This is a charity that helps people with Multiple Sclerosis, along with many other diseases, pay for our medication. If it were not for them, I would not be able to afford my meds.

Where to begin, you have given me so much to comment on.
I suppose first I need to say Bravo (Brava) all on raising the amazing amount for charity. I am so happy to watch this blog knowing that my enjoyment is also somehow helping someone in the world.
As to which charities to fund... There are so many worthy ones. I read many that were suggested in previous comments and have liked those which I think are deserving. Although truth be told, they all deserve the attention. My suggestions or endorsements are:
-Operation Underground Railroad
-St. Jude's Children's Hospital
-Doctors Without Borders
-Trevor Project
Now on to the frivolity. Lol
I like the design book sent by Wendy. The idea of using a piece of fabric behind a dish cabinet is clever. Maybe something you might want to explore when you do the China Pantry.
The Scotman doll is omg amazing. Wendy you are talented and so brilliant. The look of joy on Stephanie's face and the laughter it brought to the room was priceless. Thank you and Bravo you!
John in Las Vegas... Wow!!! Can you gift or can you gift!!! The jewelry was very pretty and displayed such color. But the dresses were omg spot on! You have a wonderful eye and sense of style. The second dress may have been planned for Stephanie, (and I am sure she will wear it one day) but it was though it was made for Nati. It was very generous of you to share this with the lovely ladies. I do sincerely hope you get to visit Lalande and show them your sense of style. Wounded Warrior it is for all wounded soldiers whether physically or mentally or both. It helps them deal with all facets of life and it also supports and helps their families and caregivers as well. I myself have a son who is a vet and was a combat solider so he has combat PTSD among other health problems.
