Pressure Washing A Driveway After The Builders Have Been | Cement Stain Removal From Block Paving

This was a driveway we cleaned before Christmas 2020. The home owners had recently had the builders in to add an extension to their home, and they left this cement staining behind. They did try and clean the stains using a domestic pressure washer, but it made no difference, as stains like this on block paving need a combination of high pressure, heat and the correct cleaning chemicals.

Great explanation once again on how you are approaching this big job! Spectacular results Nick, it looks amazing! As for the chemicals, my goodness get some gloves on Nick!! Loved watch this one, so looking forward to many more! Be well young man!
Where was the explanation?
Loved this. Great work!

Hi Colin, thanks mate, really appreciate the great feedback 🙂.
Great video man!
Thanks mate, glad you like it 🙂
Great Job, that Fan Jet looks quality for rinsing down
Thanks Ben, yeah, I’ve always liked the ones with the pressure/flow regulating handle on the side, great for rinsing down 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Cheers It's on the to buy list, got to give that a blast
@@FlawlessCleaningServices Yeah, worth having mate! 👍
Another great video. I love your style of filming and editing, looking forward to watching your channel grow, fab content, tfs.
Hi Angie, what a lovely thing to say, thanks very much 😊😊
Great job
Thanks very much Julie 😊
Nice job mate
How long did that take to surface clean... thinking about getting a hot water set up
Thank you mate 🙂. Took a couple of hours on the surface cleaner. Hot set up’s worth having, could have done this with cold, but would have taken much longer and been harder work. 👍
Did the acid take long to remove the cement? Do you have to be careful it doesn't eat the block pavers? Looked great at the end.
Hi Ched uk, only takes about ten minutes, then can be pressure washed off, It won't eat into the blocks, but can discolour them if too much is applied and left on for too long. Thanks mate.
Hi there great video , just wondering if you could give me some advice , cleaned a driveway for a customer, but he’s sanded it and sealed it with a wet look sealer polyurethane resin based , he’s cocked up , left some sand on the top of his driveway, is there anything that can be used to remove it ??
Thanks Darrin 👍. I don't offer sealing mate, so can't properly advise you on that. If you get in touch with Lee Barrow from Blast-Away Cleaning (Lee's got a channel on CZcams) or Angie or Chris from Pureseal Services, they should be able to help you. Both sell great products, and have the knowledge, experience and chemicals to help you out. You'll find them both easily if you google them. 👍
What a difference. That acid really did the trick. Is that an over the counter chem, or do you have to licensed to use that? I get a few enquiries about rectifying blocked paved drives after builders have been there, but never know what chem to use to get a quality result. Therefore I’ve been turning them down.
Hey Neil, apologies for my slow response mate. You can buy Hydrochloric acid brick cleaner from places like B&Q, ToolStation and ScrewFix, but they're not very good. I use this one from here www.bonnymans.co.uk/product-page/hydrochloric-acid-28-brick-patio-cleaner-1, i'm pretty sure it's the highest strength you can buy 👍
There’s so much trial an error with cleaning any surface and identifying a quality product to do the job properly is half the battle. With all the will in the world if you’ve purchased a sub standard product it’s so annoying when the product you’ve selected doesn’t match the effort you put in. Refreshing to see someone who is willing to share their knowledge on which chems to use and which to avoid. Kudos

Got a job coming up.Got the same block drive.
Builders have been there and there's cement all over the drive. The cement powder has blown all over it . The drive is all white now !! Will this link you put up to the hypo acid get rid of it..?
Hey Nick where did you get the spray bottle from? Great job as always 👏
Hi mate got one of these coming up, did you dillute the brick acid down or go neat?
Hey bud, started off 3/1, that wasn't doing a lot so went 50/50 on most of it. Some little stubborn bits I hit with neat. 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning perfect cheers fella!
Hi there
I have about 120 sqm of patio that builders left in real mess trying to point it...theve actually mixed the mortar on the patio and tried to brush it into the grooves. you can imagine the mess. How much would it be to clean it..easy access..Berkshire
Kind regards
Miroslav
If it's any type of natural stone, you've got a real problem, as the acid used to clean that type of staining can discolour the flags. If it's concrete paving then it might be fixable. Unfortunately Berkshire is too far for us, so we wouldn't be able to help you with that i'm afraid.
Great job you do ,. I have reviewed all your works and I really like them. If I need to ask you a few questions about the equipment, can I contact you via email?
great greetings from Bosnia
Hi Slaven, thanks very much. Yes, no problem, send me an email, and i'll try and help you as best as i can.👍
Love ur videos but this one honestly made me motion sick. 😂
Hi Keri, sorry about that, still learning as I go what works and what doesn't. Was it the sped up head cam view and lance view that made you feel sick? This is all valuable info that will help me improve my channel, cheers, Nick.
Hi mate,
Got a bit of a problem had Cerment blow of diveway. Any chance you got an email address so i can send you pictures and get your advice
Where are you based pal .
Cambridge mate.
I would simply remove the stained bricks and replace them with new ones or turn them over. Over a few months they will blend in and no one would know the difference.
This is bad advice. Block paving blocks have chamfered edges on the top, and are flat on the bottom, so you can’t “simply” turn them over. They look completely different turned over. Replacing old blocks with new stand out like a sore thumb, and will never really blend in, despite what this guy thinks.
