Homeowner ASTONISHED At The BLACK SPOT Removal From UNSIGHTLY Patio! | Pressure Washed & Soft Washed

We were contacted and asked to quote for this patio, mainly as the customer wanted the black spot removed. As with all jobs like this, we explained to the customer, that we couldn't guarantee 100% full removal, but could guarantee a minimum of 95%, with it likely being more.
Our customer was more than happy with that, and we booked her in.
It didn't show on camera, but as I walked around inspecting the slabs, there was maybe 10-15 little spots left behind. I even treated these spots with neat hypo and used 200 bar pressure with fan tip, and they still wouldn't shift. 99% removal is a good result, and the customer was extremely happy with how the patio came out. So all good.

How nice they moved everything and sent pictures later. Another fantastic job! Looks beautiful
Yes it was very considerate of them, it's not always the case 😞. Thanks for the great feedback Miriam.
Great work Nick. Satisfying to watch. Your a true perfectionist. And I know that completing a job to a high standard gives great satisfaction. 👍
Well done mate. Hopefully your enjoying the fine weather!! 👌
Hey Paudie, thanks a lot buddy, really appreciate that mate. Don't do too well in this heat bud 🥵, wish it would cool down a bit i'm honest 😜
Smashing Job Nicki! True professional keep up the hard work
Cheeers Bennyboy, top banana 😉 😀
What a great job, and a beautiful backyard. I'd love to sit out there with a glass of iced tea or a cocktail, and enjoy the surroundings.
Hi Tatianna, thanks very much 🙂. Yeah that was a lovely garden this customer had. It went much further back, she had beehives, chickens, and a huge vegetable area, it was all neatly set out next to her neighbours wild flower meadow. It was beautiful, I was definitely a little jealous that's for sure 😄.
You're welcomed to come over anytime you like cheers
I’d say that’s one happy and probable repeat customer. Proper job 👏🏻
Cheers Graham, I hope so 🙂, thanks very much 👍
Why is this so satisfying to watch? Absolutely loved watching the double application of SH ( but I'm sorry cause I know it's extra work) but it was fun to watch. Lovely transformation. Even the bricks have brightened up a notch. Great work Nick
Hi there Lakshmi, lol I don't mind the extra work if it gets the result that's needed, but thank you for saying 😊. Yes, very pleased with the outcome on this job, it's always a good day when i can achieve the required result 🙂🙂
Maybe leave the hypo on for longer as wjen I do it after 20 nins I go over with a brush to help break the black spots up then I leave for a further 15-20 mins then rince it down
@@c.d.scleaningdrivewayservi7757 Sometimes some little spots just won't shift mate, longer dwell times or using neat hypo ain't gonna change that in my experience. 99% removal is perfectly fine with me. Customer said she couldn't see any at all. But thanks for the suggestion.
Outstanding job. I'm sure you get a lot of satisfaction from making it look so good
Many thanks Crystal Clear, i'm not gonna lie, I do get a lot of satisfaction when jobs turn out so well. Thanks for the great feedback 👍
I've often seen this on patios and thought nothing could be done to make them good. How wrong was I, you did an amazing job. I would have been happy with it but you went the extra mile.
Aw bless you Anna, you're very kind, thanks so much 😊
Another great video. Information rich content. Show a true professional.
Many thanks Robert, really appreciate the kind compliment, top man ✊

Hi Kiran, thanks a lot bud 🙂👍, glad to have you on board, top man.
Another great job mate. Keep up the good work and enjoy the weather.
Cheers mate 👍👍. I know lots of people like this heat, but I struggle with it bud, especially when roof cleaning. Have got a roof to clean in a couple of days, am hoping it's gonna cool down a bit by then lol 🥵
Nick that was a marvelous job. Please consider using the before and after shots in your adverts, signed your snoopervisor ☺
Excellent idea LuAnn. Many thanks for your kind words, always appreciated 😉 🙂
Astonishing improvement!!. Top job mate.
Nice one dude, really appreciate that mate 👍🙂

Great job! Such a nice patio now👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you Sylvia! 😊
Excellent work 👌🏻
Cheers dude 👍🙂
Stumbled across your videos you do great work!
Glad you like them! Cheers Doug, top man 👍
I definitely thought they were gonna be grey slabs at the beginning! Awesome job!
Cheers buddy, you're very kind, thanks a lot.👍
Lovely job buddy, as per usual! 👍I've got one to do in next couple of days as soon as I finish customer's roof - unfortunately got black spot the size of 50p pieces and quite a bit of it so I'll be adopting a similar approach but I can see a lot of scrubbing coming on with neat hypo to get it to a point where (like you) I'll be happy. Good job just bought a new scrubbing brush!!😂😂
Cheers Richard mate. Sounds like a challenging one bud. I've got another months worth of driveways and patios booked then i'll be back up there with ya mate. Booking nothing but roof cleans at the moment. Thanks again mate 👍

Thanks 👍
Loving it from Canada, just subscribed too.
Hi Techmom, Hi from the UK, and many thanks for the sub 🙂
Your cleaning unit did a nice job and you can lay down needed chemical in broad swaths. That was a nice improvement.
Hey Robert, many thanks, much appreciated 👍
Super cool
Awesome feedback Merychess 😉, much appreciated 👍
Great job Nick!! What products do you add to the hypo & xjet to create the soap effect?? Also do you use a particular wetting agent as well?? Keep up the great work & videos!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Hi Nick, thanks a lot, really appreciate that. I just add this mate, nothing else.
mistralni.co.uk/products/lauryl-dimethylamine-oxide-lao?_pos=2&_sid=19e2f6a0d&_ss=r
Nice job. If you use the direct narrow jet and take your time they all come out really nicely.
Yeah that works well, unfortunately a bit too slow for me, as time is money 😉👍
A job well done!!
Thank you Brenda 🙂👍
Great work!
Good results on the black spot…. What do you do with the SH run off on the grass and flower beds etc?
Does it survive it if we’ll rinsed to dilute or do you get the customer to accept some brown spots if they want soft wash?
Keep up the great work… so satisfying! 👍🏻
Hi Roland, many thanks for your great feedback. The SH is heavily diluted down to a safe level with a thorough rinse down post treatment, all plant life is pre soaked and rinsed down too, as long as that is carried out thoroughly, there should be no brown spots or damage to any plant life or grass 👍🙂
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning I was also curious about the grass and plants absorbing the residue.
Looks great. Would love to see a video of how to remove oil stains off tarmac drive. New to channel so keep it up
Hi alishahid, it's almost impossible to completely remove oil stains from tarmac. A lot of guys try and remove as much as they can, then use a tarmac sealer that covers it up. It's not something i've ever done or would do, as I don't get involved in applying sealers.
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning oh ok. thanx for getting back to me though 👍
What a big difference!
Many thanks M Light, really appreciate your comment 🙂

Wow!💪
Huge thank you for that LamBeau 👍🙂
Good job
Thanks Dana
Awesome! Does the black SH container come with the xjet? My sister wants me to wash her house. Would love to try that xjet setup.
No the X-jet is just a nozzle, it doesn't even come with a trigger. The container is just an old 20 litre SH drum .
Wonderful channel Nick, wondered if you know any fellow professionals that do similar fantastic works in Wales region. Would love to use your services but I'm sure we are too far unfortunately.
Keep up with the g8 works!
Thanks very much 1955, you're very kind. Sorry, bit far out for me to know anyone in your area. But thank you for the lovely compliment. 👍😊
Hi 1955, I'm in South Wales and do similar work to Nick. I'd like to say I'm up to his standard 😉👍
That guy has an eye for detail and a commitment to his job. Also, I wonder how many homeowners do this only when they decide to sell their home..
Many thanks, that's some serious praise, you're very kind. Not that every customer makes me aware of their reason for hiring us, but it is something I hear maybe 4-5 times a year. 👍
Millions of homeowners do this shortly before selling up.
That's just in central London.
love all your videos, where are you getting your SH from? I've started doing a few jobs and currently using 11% sh which really isn't doing a good job attacking the black spots. So think I need 15% with some surfactant.
Got my first decking job tomorrow eeek!! not a fan of decking cleaning, but needs must, any advice? Thanks
Thanks a lot mate, sorry this is probably a bit too late to answer your question. I hope your decking clean went well. The best advice I can give you on decking for any future jobs, is not to stop or start on the wood, to prevent scarring the wood. Press the trigger with your lance or fsc higher off the ground then lower it, and work in a smooth continuous motion.
These two companies are the best places to but fresh good quality 14/15% hypo from.

@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Thank you very much. Went well thanks, I was a little worried about getting the right pressure without scoring the wood. Great advice about doing it in one motion as well, something I will carry with me going forward. Thanks for the links as well, I will check them out. Thank you kindly.
Wow that foam really dug in
Thanks Randy 👍
Great job mate! Can I ask... How many litres of SH did you use on the first softwash and how many litres of water... Struggling g to get my head around mixing! Thanks and keep vids coming! 😎👌🏼
Great job mate! Do you add anything into your Hypo to make it so thick? It looks like the consistency of Snow Foam
Cheers bud 🙂. Yeah I add this mistralni.co.uk/products/lauryl-dimethylamine-oxide-lao?_pos=3&_sid=c3d63f897&_ss=r but having the x-jet on very low pressure, with the spray as wide as it can be really helps as well 👍
I love watching your videos from Ireland. Just wondering what solution you’re using, it makes a fantastic job.
Hi PJ, that's very kind of you, cheers 🙂. I'm using sodium hypochlorite to remove the black spots 👍
No damage to the lawn ???? With the hypo???
@@MrCabimero no!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent video, thank you. Just need a “ d “ on the end of “ applie “ on one of the captions for top marks !
Very good, no, excellent video. Very satisfying. Do yourself a favor and buy a Stihl backpack blower with push button electric start. Stihl doesn’t make their biggest backpack blower with electric start, but the one with it is big enough.
Thanks very much, it's very kind of you to say. Sounds like a great bit of kit, but not too familiar with that type of blower if i'm honest, i'll go and google it now, cheers 👍
Brill job..amazing...can I ask what ratio was the sp on your initial spray...finding confusing info on the correct ratio...thanks.
Hi Jan, thanks very much 😊. 3 parts water to 1 part hypo, hope that helps 🙂
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning thanks for your reply..very grateful.
Brilliant result could I ask what dilution of hypo you use
Thanks mate, sure, 3/1.
Fab job 👍👍 I couldn't see it in the comments on this vid but I'm sure you get this question all the time: does the grass suffer when the hypo is rinsed off onto/near it?
Many thanks 👍. We heavily pre and post rinse/soak the grass, so the hypo won't effect it.
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Ah, there's the trick 😎 Makes total sense.
Great job!! What cleaner do you use to get rid of black spots?
Thanks very much Mishka, I used sodium hypochlorite.
Lovely job done, Mr Nick. The AFTER looks amazing, and the homeowner's photos of the patio look beautiful.
Many thanks, much appreciated 👍
nice
Cheers Ash, 🙂👌
Like watching an artist paint on canvas!
Wow, thank you G, your compliment's just made my day 😊🙂
What a difference. What do you use to remove the lichen?
Thanks Damien 👍. I use sodium hypochlorite.
Just found and subscribed to your channel nice work
Justin @ Brickright 👍
Thanks a lot bud, welcome to the channel, really appreciate the sub 👍
Great job seriously. I thought the paves were grey not this beautiful olour
Thank you Saf, appreciate the great feedback 👍
Another great job mate, do you offer a biocide treatment as an additional extra to keep it cleaner for longer?
Hi Phil, no mate, I very rarely use biocide. In my experience, it doesn't last any longer than using hypo. I'd take all the stuff you hear and read (especially on Facebook) about bio with a pinch of salt mate. I've cleaned and hypo'd roofs and 3 years later they still look immaculate, i've cleaned and bio'd roofs and been back a year or two later, and there's obvious signs of growth. Bio definitely kills algae, moss and lichen - without question. But I don't believe all the hype that it's super long lasting, because in my experience, it just isn't. 👍
Hi can u use a watering can to put the hypo down.. Also did you say just to leave it 15 minutes then its OK to jet off.. Thanks
Yep spot on, to everything you've said 👍
What treatment did you use with the X-Jet? And then you scrubbed for the final step. What did you use to scrub off the last few remaining spots?
I used sodium hypochlorite with added surfactant to make it foam. The scrubbing was just more SH at a stronger concentration. The higher concentration plus agitation from the brush helps shift the more stubborn spots.
Beautiful job but how did the tiles go from yellow-ish on your video to white in the owner’s pictures?
Thanks very much Brooke 🙂. These tiles are a very light creamy/beige colour when clean and dry, but when they're wet they look much more yellow.👍.
Looks bloody good mate!!! What's the Hypo mixture?
Cheers JB, it's a 3/1 mix.
What sprayer do you use for soft wash and what chemical do you use in it?
It's sodium hypochlorite, applied through an X-jet.
Hi mate great video, what hypo mix do you use and do you use surfactant?
Thanks Casey. When I say mix, i mean hypo mixed with surfactant 👍
Do you use the grey insert in the XJet ?
Yes, most of the time 👍
💜💜💜
Thats a very good job mate, do you have to wait for a while before rinsing off the hypo cleaner ?
Cheers, yes around 15-20 minutes
I've only lived in one state that we had to wash the concrete sidewalks or any other walks and drives and that was Hawaii. We lived on base so it had to be kept clean and the kids tracked red dirt in and out all day long. We used Muriatic (spelling) acid back then and it was approved by the base we were stationed on. Safe for kids, pets and plants but it steamed up a big stinking smell when you poured it on. You could actually see the acid eating through that red stain. Then we brushed it with an old broom and rinsed and walah clean as can be. Do you ever use Muriatic acid? Of course you have to be careful with fumes and not getting it on your skin or metal.
Hi Maranatha, thank you for your comment. Yes I use muriatic/hydrochloric acid to clean cement stains from brickwork or pavers. 👍
You guys power wash so much better than the guys in the US from what I have seen here on CZcams.
Aw thanks Kathy 😊
That's because they are English workers.
Hi Nick, just curious what colour proportioner did you use in the xjet for this job?
Hi Martin, I used the grey proportioner
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Thanks Nick, super job that 👌
I have a question for you.
Does the soap damage plants?
What is the composition of the soap?
Thank you.
The chemical is sodium hypochlorite with added surfactant that gives it the soapy appearance. It will damage plants if the they are not thoroughly pre and post soaked with clean water. If they a thoroughly soaked, they'll be fine.
Great job pal what machine and hose are using here ?
Thanks bud, i'm using a Honda GX390 21lpm with a 40 metre high pressure hose from Rutland Pumps
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Thankyou 👍
Do u draw the water from a wheelie bin while filling it with a hose? Or is 1 bin full enough
From the wheelie bin, with the tap turned on the whole time
Does the hypo kill the grass at the edge on patios like this without any drainage or gravel to rinse off into?
How much SH DID YOU USE ALTOGETHER AND WHAT AREA DID YOU TREAT? Thanks
Very impressive! Quick question, don't the chemicals kill the grass where it runs off the patio?
Many thanks 👍. If the grass is heavily pre and post soaked with water the SH won't effect the grass at all 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Ah right! That’s good to know thank you, I’ve avoided using chemicals on my patio for this reason but what you say makes sense so I’ll give it a go this weekend 👍🏻
@@smurfmonster 👍
Great job chap, but once autumn an winter comes and goes it wont be long before its back to looking shite. Sandstone for you I guess
Can you put anything on top to seal it ??
Thanks Paul 👍. You'd be surprised how long it'll stay clean for once it's had a deep clean like this, under normal circumstances this patio will stay looking good for a couple of years before it starts to deteriorate again. Don't offer sealing, as personally don't think it's worth it.
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning yer I sealed mine , did nowt after 2months., waste of time and money....
@@paulsimpson2232 Sorry to hear that mate, but yeah that's been my experience with it, and what i've witnessed too 👍
Could brushing the first time you sprayed the hypo could have saved a lot of time and water??
No
What’s in your cleaning solution? Bleach?
Nice one fella what a result!
What surfactant are you using for that amount of foam up?
Cheers buddy 🙂, nice one. I use this bud www.bonnymans.co.uk/product-page/lauryl-dimethylamine-oxide-ammonyx-lo
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Ledge thanks a lot! The one I use is good but nowhere near that foam.
Was just about to ask this as I also never get such results from foaming. Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge bro 👌🏻
Do you dilute the Hypo if yes what Ratio
Yes, 3/1 on this job.
You wash all the solution off the patio onto the lawn...does the hypo damage the lawn??
It will damage the lawn if you don't thoroughly pre or post soak and rinse down the area you wash the hypo into - which we always do.
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Thanks mate......makes sense
@@robhallam8047 no worries 👍
