In this video I'm curious to try, Can we install Games using External BluRay Discs on Xbox Series S?
I use physical Game Discs from Xbox Classic, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Curious about the results?

Y ya me estaba ilusionando para poder adquirir dos juegos que solamente se pueden jugar teniéndolos físicos por que mi Xbox one es all digital que lástima.
Tampoco ayuda que sea real por qué siempre usan un disco del series x :/
The xbox drive has a unique Disc Drive Key that marry with unique key into nand and the drive firmware has security routines to check game disc to reject copies. Opening for usb drives to install games is a great security breach that leads for piracy on console. This key is encripted with entire Nand and never will work with external drives. Same "problem" with PS5 without disc drive.

I'm curious to see if an external drive could be used to watch bluray movies with VLC player.
Come to think of it, I have an external DVD burner about somewhere, so I might have to try playing DVDs on my series x or xbox one x like that over the next few days. At the very least, I'd imagine it would work for playing .avi and .divx files with VLC or media player

Естественно. Внутренний привод имеет чип проверки подлинности зашитого в диск ключа. В ОС Трешбокса скорее всего даже нет драйвера для внешнего дисковода...

It's obvious, blu ray reader requires a firmware compatible with Xbox Discs Boot Sectors. Additionally external blu ray must be enabled on the USB connection in the console firmware. If this was possible, console should be pirate friendly...

@@romanzadyrko7142 - That'll never happen. Microsoft use a completely different system for verifying discs now, they learned their lesson from 2 previous xbox generations being hacked on the drives.

В данном приводе есть функция -Использовать как флешку, нужно вытащить дисковод, зажать кнопку на приводе и замигает индикатор и после этого дисковод становиться флешкой, попробуйте, должно сработать.

Pues hasta ahora parece que nunca lo hicieron pero deberían porque algunos juegos no están disponibles de forma digital y para los que tenemos Xbox one all digital no podemos adquirir algunos juegos.

Xbox 360, Xbox One, and now Xbox Series X disc drives have to be "married to the motherboard." There is a unique "key" in the drives firmware that has to match the "key in the motherboard's NAND. You can't even use the drive from one Series X in another Series X, until the "people" find a technique to spoof/flash the keys to drives.

Difícil, o leitor é uma peça mecânica, chegar em velocidade de SSD é praticamente impossível, ele teria que ler só pra copiar o jogo para o SSD

apparently, the device does not recognize the reader, not the disc, even without the disc, a notification should appear on the Xbox screen indicating that the reader has been recognized, this notification it would be similar to what appears when you connect an external HD to it, try the rear USB, it will work. hug.

Why would you think this would work? You need to mess with xbox OS & install a driver for the blu-ray player, then you need at ripping software to dump the game into your series S!
Even without that, games are protected and a regular bluray disc player can't read them.

Buen intento,pero era obvio que no funcionaría,los discos tiene un código especial que solo pueden leerlo los lectores de la consola en cuestión,si no fuera así,cualquier lector de blueray pudiera leer los juegos,incluso entre distintas consolas.

this would never work because just like xbox 360 the dvd/bd drive has a key that has to marry up with the key on the motherboard well inside the cpu.
on the series s motherboard has no connection for an int drive and defo you can not do it with usb. maybe microsoft will bring out an ext drive but i doubt is .
It most likely won’t work they are set up differently…just like with the ps5

The kernel of bluray in consoles is a windond chip thats read the security sector on disk... A "regular" bluray drive won't work...
Kalau bisa bakalan senasib xbox 360 lt3/lt2 dvd tani tp bisa online, mudah²an sda yg bisa buat mod firmwarenya buat baca bluray external :)

Se tivesse como instalar o app blu-ray da Microsoft Store seria uma boa.

Digital games are pretty much surpassing the physical copies, the only bad side is that you require more memory to download the games

I prefer physical copies over digital. If I some how loose access to my Xbox account then I don’t want to repurchase everything (if that’s still a thing for Xbox). Plus if I ever get bored over a game I could always sell it back on eBay or something to make money.
Edit: Loose access as in getting my account banned and or hacked so others don’t get confused what I mean.

Se a questão é um driver e uma placa isso não é muito difícil para os hacker e desenvolvedores de hardware e softwares especializados na área. Isso é só uma questão de tempo.

Era obvio que no hiba a leer los discos físicos por la unidad lectora de blu Ray , esa unidad está diseñada para leer otro tipo de formato de discos

Also I believe that the Disk drive needs to have Microsoft firmware to run it maybe you can find an old Xbox one version so you can have backwards compatibility on the older games I could imagine the new Xbox is very hard to hack

The only reason they want to sell you a diskless machine is so they can overcharge you for the games. The fact you'll never be able to pick up cheap second hand discs in the future and still have to pay over the odds for them online makes these consoles a complete scam IMHO.
