My great granddaughter's hair is SOOOO thick she looks like a caveman. Her mom does not address it and even shaved her head because she got lice in school. It is now just above her shoulders.. she gets bullied in school. I am doing this. Your method seems to make sense. Very time consuming but whatever does the job. 😊

Great tips, might try this my 11 yo son has really long thick hair and wants to keep it long but wants it thinning out so he can wear it down more, his ponytails about 2 inches thick!

My hair is thick, curly and coarse on the very top (like the top 6th of my head) and the bottom is thin and lanky. Because the top layer shrinks up every “easy” DIY layering tutorial (like unicorn cut) has left me with long thin ends and too short/voluminous on top. It’s almost pointless to layer since my hair wants to layer itself naturally. I think thinning shears should help me thin out the top but I’m still confused on how to not ruin my hair since I’d be cutting the very top and most obvious part on my head. lol
