    Losing weight as a petite woman sucked so bad. It took me over a year of eating 1200ish calories to get from 140 back to 110. The biggest thing is being extremely consistent and count your calories accurately

    • @scarletsletter4466
      @scarletsletter4466 Před měsícem +6

      ❤ Congrats that’s a huge goal accomplished! My advice for petite girls is to fast 1-2 days per week & eat regular the rest of the time. It’s called 5/2 diet & is much easier than 1200 kcal everyday, plus it’s better for your hormones. You don’t eat nothing on fast days- you can still have a few hundred kcal like broth soup, protein shake, greens, etc.
      Also, the effect of sleep cannot be overstated. If you get more sleep, drink more water, avoid alcohol & soda, you should be able to lose. But yeah, I’m 5’5” & 118lbs & I feel like 5-10lbs on me is super noticeable.

    • @UnseenOct
      @UnseenOct Před měsícem +3

      @scarletsletter4466 thank you!! Yeah, totally. I'm 5'2 and even the difference between 110 and 115 is big for me.
      It's also eaiser if you count calories by the week instead of the day, so the same idea essentially. Honestly, switching to sugar-free drinks was the biggest factor in my weight loss. I was drinking way too many energy drinks, cokes, gatorade, etc. It's so easy to drink your calories and obviously not feel full from it

    • @aktube9084
      @aktube9084 Před měsícem +4

      Hey, don't wanna comment where I'm unwelcome, but I have a lot of experience with weight loss myself (240lbs to 165lbs). 1200 calories is likely way too low for u, unless u happen to be extremely sedentary or super short. The reason u had to eat such little calories to keep losing weight is likely cuz u tanked Ur metabolism. If u ever r looking to lost weight again in the event u gain back the weight, I'd recommend implementing calorie deficit breaks (aka diet breaks, refeeds, reverse dieting). For example, if someone is 200lbs with a maintenance level of 2500 calories, go on a 500 cal per week deficit (max), and after u plateu at say 180lbs and 1900 calories, instead of cutting Ur cals more, increase Ur calories back up to say 2100 for a month or so. U won't rly gain back any fat (maybe just some water weight), but u wld ramp up Ur metabolism again so u don't tank it. After doing this "refeed" for about a month, drop back down to 1900 calories and u will start losing fat again without dropping Ur calories down so low.

    • @UnseenOct
      @UnseenOct Před měsícem +2

      @aktube9084 yeah that's just not true. My resting metabolic rate is 1300-1400 max when not super active. My metabolism is great, but weight loss is slow for petite women.

      It is a mass murder accusation and TBYS’s video did lead to illy getting doxxed. Like instead of trying to make some vacuous appeal to hypocrisy, you could just engage with the individual points on their own merit. Does TBYS have some responsibility for the doxxing if his video is what inspired it? Does he have more responsibility if his video misrepresented her views? Is saying that people shouldn’t be moralizing food going to lead to mass child death? And can one of these extrapolations be true while the other is false?

    • @Chaoticbutterfly14
      @Chaoticbutterfly14 Před měsícem

      @@behindtheveilofignorance Did he say children would eat themselves to death? I'm fairly certain that's a lie since it sounds stupid. Or did he say children would develop terrible eating habits and die faster as they grow older?
      You've lost any semblance of credibility if you actually believe TBYS caused the doxxing. If I criticized walmart as being a terrible store that ruins mom and pop shops but said nothing else and a random person tries to blow it up then you'd claim I inspired the act and bare responsibility. Which is insane. If someone did not call for violence but violence happens anyway than you can't claim it's that person's fault especially when they said don't do anything. He also didn't misrepresent her. People here just disagree and think that equals out to lying about what she said. It will definitely become more of a problem and lead to a rise of child deaths but it won't be a massive movement. We already have more obesity in children then ever before.

      After 30 seconds of WikiPedia research, I came to the conclusion that "Destiny" is a primarily feminine given name meaning "destiny, fate", which is ultimately derived from the Late Latin word "destinata". Commonly used spelling variants include Destinee, Destiney, and Destinie.

      Listen it depends on the market & the type of lease you have. In very tight housing markets there’s no such thing as terminating a lease, you just pay it out or lose your 2mo security deposit + fee. In NYC & SF that can easily cost $10k depending on your building

    Destiny is complete right that simple carb foods aren't necessarily bad for you. If you're exercising and have depleted all of the sugar in your bloodstream, your body needs energy and the fastest way to get it from simple carbs, such as chocolate or bread. The problem arises when you eat these simple carbs in excess, as they spike your blood sugar and get stored as fat long term.

Eating a single serving of meat, fruits and vegetables a day will give you all of the micros you need to survive. You can improve your levels by micromanaging the trace nutrients in every food, or just take a multi, or just not worry about it (you won’t notice).
      The real reason multigrain bread is better is because it gives you a significantly larger dose of dietary fiber, which is essentially the brakes for absorption of sugar from carbs. It also tends to have much less sugar in the first place.

    I personally know multiple people who think obesity is a myth and don't want to lose weight. It's a pretty popular idea in some dietician circles and people who believe in "intuitive eating." Their idea is that going against your cravings to follow any theory of what's "good for you" has been proven to fail, and people actually end up eating better if they just eat intuitively. Agree with Destiny that making fun of fat people or whatever is mean and unhelpful.

      Yes, it is still food at the end of the day, no, you can’t eat just whatever you want, because if you live by this hedonistic ethos you’ll most likely end up obese because, as it happens, although all food are food not all food is the same.
      Some food have incredibly poor nutrient density whilst being extremely calorie dense and extremely addictive, thus if you just ate whatever you wanted chances are you’d be eating mostly unhealthy foods (which is to say the aforementioned nutrient poor calorie rich addictive foods).
      « Seone shouldn’t be harassed cause they are a KitKat »
      Did I ever say that ? Please could you find the place in my comment where I said that ? No you can’t, because I never said nor advocated nor even come close to hint that it’s what we should do.
      We should promote healthy diets and teach people how to appreciate good healthy foods and we shouldn’t incentivize poor behavior by celebrating fatness or refusing to acknowledge that fatness is unhealthy, and we can do all of that without bullying anyone.
      Heck it’s not even like you have to cut out unhealthy food entirely, you should just eat them in moderation is all.
      « Yall agree that vegans shouldn’t be harassing ppl for eating meat right? »
      And maybe that question would be warranted if I ever proposed to harass anyone, which I didn’t, so back off.
      « That same rules applies to this »
      You know you can criticize someone’s lifestyle without harassing them right ? It is in fact possible to advise someone to go easy on the triple mcburgers with seven sides of French fries and 2L of coke without being mean or harassing them, just like it’s possible for vegans to present an argument as to why it’s unethical or unhealthy or inefficient (pollution wise) to not be vegan, without harassing anyone.
      Could you stop pretending like that’s what I’ve done here (harass anyone I mean) ?
      And I’m not pretending that I agree, I’m pointing out that though the statement is technically true it’s also completely useless because it doesn’t actually take into account the other side of the question which is that although all food is food, not all foods are equal in terms of being a part of a balanced healthy diet, some are in fact objectively better in that regard.
      Or if you prefer, all food is food =/= all food is good food, and it’s disingenuous of her to pretend like those two are the same, with her only caveat being if you’re allergic or diabetic.

    The distinction between Ethics and Morals is the difference between Illegal and Wrong.
    The rules are instituted to protect the plurality, but there will always be edge cases. People at the margins who do not conform to the experience of the plurality. You can make exemptions to certain rules based on morality, but the rules aren't designed around morality they're designed around Ethics. Best Practices vs Solution Oriented Actions.

    I lost 40lbs in 3 months, but it was extremely unhealthy. I had a colon infection that ultimately ended in GI surgery. I couldnt eat more than like 3-5 meals (at least calorically) a week, and most of that was coming from like ensure.

    "you only lose 6 pounts of fat a month" 29:00 i've literally lost 20 pounds in a month for 2 months in a row before slowing down before, its not so simple, it depends a lot in how fat you are when you start losing weight, as you get lower on your fat percentage it gets slower.

    • @grandgibbon2071
      @grandgibbon2071 Před měsícem +1

      It's more that loosing about 6lbs of fat tends to be a far better course of action than loosing 20 at once. Obviously there are extreme cases where you need to lose a lot of fat, but it is if possible, better to lose it slowly. Plus it is easier to keep off if you are doing it through lifestyle changes you are maintaining.

As much as overweight people cannot fathom how little healthy people eat, healthy people cannot fathom how much some people over eat. Some people really can clock like 5k daily calories and then suddenly restricting it to 2k a day can see giant losses in the first months of weight loss. 20lbs may be hyperbole, but remember you can infinitely over eat so calorie restrictions can be massive for giant people.

      No hes not. "Healthly" when it comes to food is contextually dependant. Marathon runners can, and often do, drink a shit ton of highly processed carbs and would be less healthy without the carbohydrates. Why? Because they need the glucose to continue running at a decent level.

      @@nothingnothing3947 I think people running marathons probably are not looking at destiny or illymation for dieting advice... and for everyone else this is just horrible advice. Desserts are just bad for you. High sugar things are just bad for you. If you think of literally the most extreme situations to say that all food is good for you at some time it is a meaningless statement.

    • @nothingnothing3947
      @nothingnothing3947 Před měsícem +1

      @hoppers4prez214 Desserts and high sugar food absolutely can be fine and even healthy in a calorically controlled diet with sufficient food variety for micronutrient needs, and that's not just for people who run marathons. It's highly contextual, which makes it fairly misleading and false to label food as entirely bad. That's my entire point.
      Also do you have evidence and a proposed mechanism for how high sugar foods are somehow, independent of their caloric burden, health degrading in the average person? I'm by no means an expert in nutritional science, but in my little reading and listening to subject experts I've yet to find any reason as to why "desserts" or high sugar foods are bad in and of themselves.
      General advice for healthy eating should be about teaching how one determines what is or isn't healthy depending on the context, not spreading misleading and grossly overgenelized rules about entire food categories. People watching these videos aren't infants, they're adults or teenagers fully capable of learning without stupid and false heuristics.

      @@nothingnothing3947 sweets have lots of sucrose without fiber. This is important because sucrose splits into fructose and glucose. Glucose is fine for you and is processed by basically everything. Fructose can only be processed in the liver so liver cells get hit with a huge amount of it at once. When you cells get too much sugar at once, they make more citrate than they can process. The citrate has to go somewhere so it is processed into VLDL cholesterol (causes heart disease). It also up regulates phosphate scavengers that produce uric acid which suppresses proteins that control NO production which is key in regulating blood pressure (leading to hypertension).
      It is understood that these foods are just not good to consume for your health. Indulging every now and then is fine but if you were perfectly optimizing for your health you wouldn't ever eat them because they play no important role in your diet.
