Is a pre and post game lobby too much to ask?
For 343, yes.
Nah it should be standard

The mute button was there for a reason💀

Exactly
Just mute them. Simple.
It's not simple because that cuts out one of the core features of the game, it's like saying "Warthogs are broken, just don't enable them, simple".

this same thing happened
@@SynthLizard8you can mute individual players

nope that is too complicated and everyone must be "protected" by the authorities.
343's halo definitely feels more esports oriented and not simply focused on having fun
At least the Forge team knows what we want
They've added so much you can do in this Forge
Halo? Oh you must be talking about Desync:The Game
And no one cares about halo esports, i dont know why microsoft thinks its a cash cow.
ESPORTZ be damned I want Halo to be fun and be halo again.
This whole ESPORTZ crap is what killing halo and reducing it to "generic dull shooter" instead of leading and being innovative. We barely have any weapons because they need to balance it, we barely have prop physics because the ESPORTZ players brain would fry if a player was able to block a door with a covenant cargo box. We have like zero PVE content and the worse thing, is the insane amount of effort in the cashshop. Making these out of place skins because ESPORTZ players are dumb enough to buy it.
Infinite's fire fight is trash, literally just grunts only and even if I get a normal fire fight. Infinite's enemies are so lame its banished only and these slackers can't even drive vehicles and they all run to one spot...
When the mute button exists none of this justifies taking out social features simple as.
Exactly
360 era was peak. Lobby being loud and obnoxious? Mute the lobby. On with friends? Mute everyone but them. Someone sent you a harrassing voicenote? Delete it and block the player. Simple. You’re gonna get arseholes EVERYWHERE in life, sadly just gotta deal with them, and especially in gaming, just give people the tools to deal with it instead of removing features outright for the people who just want to have harmless fun
That requires effort for the offended party to do those things. Effort is something that many people these days have been avoiding as much as possible.

Geee - it's almost like have a reporting system in-game would resolve this issue. You know, like the players have been asking for. Except then 343 would have to ban players and that's not good for their profit margins.
I thought it was a Bungie decision
There is in-game reporting.... Some people can't get to the menu because like the mute option it's buried (although they actually aren't and people need to reset their settings to fix that bug) (I'm aware it's annoying but it's a one time reset so you'll be fine)
If you can't handle being bullied in a video game lobby you don't need to be playing online games
I mean, people seemed to have taken that to heart seeing as how VC is dead and nobody plays Halo anymore besides millianials with a boner for nostalgia.
Roasting is part of what makes social features special, just mute players when it gets toxic

Silencing everyone because of a few bad apples is toxic. There are features to block people if they're annoying you...
Toxicity in gaming is extremely reactive, so the solution is to mute the toxicity instead of listening to it and responding. The problem almost every single person has with toxicity is they entertain it well beyond their limits out of entitlement and stubbornness. Everyone has thick skin until they don't, and then they blame the game for not miraculously banning them the instant they're toxic.
Mute. Mute. Mute. Mute. Mute. I cannot say it enough, mute anyone that you believe is being toxic. Stop needlessly stressing yourself because you want to hear the mean man call you names for a few more minutes, just MUTE. We have no problem instantly muting people with lots of background noise and crying children, why not mute the dude calling you slurs?

Creepy.
I have never understood the mindset of specifically shit talking someone on a game because of gender
It's the whole 'Alpha Male' attitude I think.
Same with how I have never understood people that don't use the mute button. Some real smooth brained folks playing games complaining about each other.
Don’t forget there are no genders in Halo Infinite
generally speaking, i dont think they're shit talking them because of gender. If you look at the example of bullies and juevenile behavior in kids - they just pick something -- ANYTHING that makes them different. So in the case of women and men, the fact that they're not men is just a low hanging fruit target. Ur different from me, thus ur the enemy, thus i bully you.
its really stupid, but thats what it is
Never understood why people can't hit that mute button.
Some of the goofiest moments that I remember from gaming was playing PUBG when it first came out and all 100 players were together with mics all open. It was a hilarious time and I'll never forget the snaking "press z and follow me" and "China number 1" era. It was one of the core reasons to play multiplayer online, actually getting to play and hear other people. Yeah people can be assholes for a ton of reasons, but people can also be funny, sweet, and memorable too. Just give easy tools to mute and report, have a reputation bar or something. Too much good fun is lost, it loses that live feeling when you can't interact with anyone.
People need to have thicker skin. Women being sensitive to crap talking isn’t just ruining video games, it’s infected everything.
Halo infinites vc is dead I wish people would use it:(
Why? So you can get coms banned? Xbox live for chatting in open lobbies is dead for a reason. You can report the slightest issue and get banned. You can probably get banned for saying poop or crap now.
@@numb1gxfan I use VC all the time and I have never been banned, lol. Just don't be an asshole and you'll be fine.
The death of social features is a terrible thing and it gers worse with each game
one thing that actually pisses me off about halo infinite is the lack of specific zoom in and zoom out binds, like in mcc or h2 vista. they’ve cut out important keybinds without any reason to
*puts on Mrk IV tinfoil helmet*
Post lobby Partying up was scrapped because it would ruin the win/loss feeding algorithm
Don’t need a tinfoil hat for that
Toxicity exists everywhere. The only thing i heard in this video is a couple of sensitive gamer girls ruined Halos social features for millions, nice.
Yeah it doesn't help that gamer girls are there half the time for attention and really do suck at fps games but want all the respect they get normally is wild.
BattleBit goes to show how nice prox voip is.
I don’t think it’s necessary. Just a nice thing to have.
Battlebit has an actually nice and charming community unlike Halo though, lol.
I mostly miss pre and game lobbies and service records so everyone can see each others social ranks and achievements/commendations in game
Toxicity was literally the funniest part of fps games knowing that your making someone so mad that they resort to calling u slurs and saying the most heinous things if u don't like it mute them or play a single player game
Halo 2 Proximity Voice, like actually being close to a team mate or Enemy and being able to hear them was my favorite part.
Nah i want newer gamers to have the same experience as i did in them MW2(2009) lobbies
Never thought I’d get nostalgic for those days lol
@@RandoGrunt people werent that serious back than. Todays kids would probably land in mental asylum from old CoD lobbys lmao. Back than we insulted alot, everyone against everyone, after that match we played the next round together. Barely anyone cared
What really sucks about Halo Infinite lacking social features is that it doesn't stop the harassment, you still get plenty of shitheads on Halo Infinite who'll call everyone a bunch of slurs who should uninstall the game and/or off themselves, and unlike older Halo games, now when someone does this you can't even tell who the fuck said this trash so you can't report them or anything. They need to bring back social features while also having options that allow people to properly take action against toxic douchebags and options that can deter toxic douchebags.
How have they fumbled this game so bad, it’s so sad.
Has nobody in game development ever heard of a mute button?!
If you can’t handle heat mute thyself otherwise it builds character especially if you have the skill to back it up that’s how it has always been we’re just in a generation that can’t hang period.
So I PAY to play a game, and the devs tell me how to communicate???
What’s the mute button for!?!
big agree with everything said in the video!
we need social features
we want people to make memories, make friends, not be lonely
loneliness is a huge problem nowadays, and honestly companies making anti-consumer decisions is part of what drives this negativity.
so please for the love of god let us have something good!
Let’s make a multiplayer game so people can play together! But make sure we take it any way for them to interact, might aswell be offline, mute them done block them done
I don’t like toxic jerks but if you can’t use the mute and block player feature that’s an individual problem. Studios removing social features because a few players can’t mute/block the few jerks is backwards thinking.
Yea sometime it makes me want to play alone instead of in a party. It gets too sweaty when in a party..
I think there should be community options for those who want them and they. Can be turned off in settings so people who don’t want that don’t have to participate because I know me and some of my friends have be harassed without the social features so I can only wonder what it’d be like with them
Rather have it with all of the toxicisity than to not have it at all. Just mute them.
Imagine if COD back in the day tried to do the same thing. LOL this is why the mute button exists...
No one talks in infinite, and that’s why I play games, the social side of gaming
Like the famous Tyler the creator tweet says “how is cyber bullying real? Like just walk away from the screen”. If you’re being harassed just turn off the social features. Other people shouldn’t lose the ability to use social features when others who are being harassed can simply just turn it off
It’s called a mute button
With the time elapsed since 5's launch, we could have gathered the best Halo modders and story enthusiasts and have made a script for a true Halo 4 post 3's legendary ending and have made good headway if not completed it and continue on with this alternate trilogy. It seems strange that someone would be offended if a random loser called them a slur or said something dumb like ‘kys’ because these people are just online losers and don’t know you, why would you care what they say? Just mute them and move on, easy.
Depression do dumb things to a persons brain.
Modern America has been grooming their youth for years to not think for themselves and to instead fester on the impressions others have of them, so as to make them more maliable and easier to control. A weak-willed, weak-minded populace on the scale of that nation holds great power over the world with as many influencers as it has.
So in short; it's not strange at all.
The problem with a huge new mode is Halo has soooo many “core” modes that just getting those created is like 2-3 games in one. I mean not only do you have all the playlists to make but having Firefight, Forge, Theater, Custom Games Browser are legit like making a game itself. It has taken 343 like 3 years just to get Infinite caught up to other Halos lol and since the player base who yelled for these things for years didn’t return when they were made now they’re moving on and aren’t even thinking about a new mode.
343 isnt entitled to having players return but it sucks that the only time that a portion of the fan base say anything is when they’re complaining.
Player: Someone said something I don’t like.
343i: Make it so no one can speak!
Player: "My best friend stopped playing altogether because of getting harassed in most matches online and doesn't even want to play games with us anymore because of all the hate speech."
343: Yeah, makes sense to cut that feature.

Imagine a universe where Halo was rated M again.
The solution to this is simple: the first time you play the game have a screen pop up with an opt-in/opt-out option for social features with a warning about the possible toxicity of online interactions and allow people to block/mute individual players.
Ay lmao, now theres actual information to back that up.
I wouldn't treat it like this is always the case, it is only looking at halo 3.

I think it was a fine excuse during the turmoil 343 was going through. But now that the information is public- and fans want it back. It’s not hard to implement safety features to build a welcoming community.
There is a mute, block and report feature for a reason. Use it.
As everyone says, just mute them. Hell, if someone is constantly a problem, having a way to report them to temporarily disable their in-game mic could even work *so long as active moderators could verify the reports*.
That being said... these days I imagine it'll largely be squeakers spamming on mics.
So THAT'S why I can't talk to anyone on this damn game
Cuz LITERAL LOSERS keep getting their asses kicked and talk shit to girl gamers to vent?
SMH. We've gotten way too soft
Just MUTE/BLOCK those idiots and let us have our social features back - not being able to communicate with your team or anyone ingame has been such a huge disappointment
I remember when we had lobbies that could drop the most majestic yet god awful strings of slurs and insults that stopped entire matches not because we were offended and quit but instead laughing so hard we couldn't see anything and if anyone crossed the line and made it too personal then we muted them and blocked them.
I feel like nowadays multiplayer games are tiptoeing their way with social features because of gaming bullying, because now the company and studios themselves can get in trouble because of that, but I think solutions can be made like making robust and dynamic reporting and banning systems, however that means more developing time and resources (something that halo doesn't have currently), so they prefer to just turn down social features as a solution, but they don't realize that that hurts user experience a lot, their current logic is "they can't hurt each other if they can't speak to each other"
They should implement a community voting system for what we want in the games but not like Mojang where you get 1 new thing instead of several.
I remember those halo 3 days 🥺
It is one of the things I miss the most of past halos the feeling of belonging community. Nowadays is just dust and echoes
Can't believe feminism has also reached Halo.
Can't we just have a fun time without this dumb crystal generation ruining stuff?
It's SO DAMN EASY to just mute those you don't want to hear in-game.
If you can't take the heat, stay away from the fire.
Why can't you just mute the "Toxic" players?
When I search in a party it literally cuts my wait/search time by like 80%
While we're at it, can we please have the map names display when we are loading into the game? It says the mode name but not the map so I have no idea what many of the maps are called.
the amount of friends i made on halo 2 and still talk to those friends and the way halo is now i could never of meet those friends on today's halo =(
I miss the old school COD anything goes days where they made it easy to mute people or the whole lobby. It had a certain, insane asylum feel to it. 😅
Removing social features to solve the toxicity problems is like dropping a nuke on a city to solve the crime problem.
All the OG gamers are gonna have to come together and make a game that is everything we want and not let a corporation touch it simply as that. Wanna bring gaming back we are going to have to take it back ourselves.
just mute people
I love messing with Toxic Players, chatting about random topics/cool stuff with friendly players, and sharing tips and tricks in Ingame VCs. Shame I only have HD2 and few other games for that fun aspect these days.
I wish more people and developers realized “mute player” is a very useful tool to those who dont want to deal with Salt, not only that but realize the best counter to a salty toxic player is either offering understanding where they are coming from (if they are rational) or else turning the lit fuse barrel against them by schooling them gameplay/vocal wise before muting them so they can float and sputter for the rest of the match as a taste of their own medicine.
I think people just need to grow a spine in game lobbies. If someone gets toxic to me I just laugh it off
Team mates don’t even use mics in social playlists.
It's just not halo to me without the old social features
Wow so of course Bonnie Ross and kiki wolfkill probably made that decision to keep their girls "safe" but in all honesty it's stupid because you can just mute🤔
It feels like I'm completely alone when playing Halo Infinite with randoms. This is what keeps me from playing. I made friends matchmaking in Halo 2 and Halo 3 that I still talk to today. Thanks for bringing attention to this.
I understand what you're saying, as I have run across some players that heckled me after a match and telling me to throw away my Xbox. Unfortunately, it didn't work on me as I am mature enough that it just made me laugh at their infantile efforts.
Kinect mics were the worst. I heard more kids getting told off than abuse towards me
Microsoft sees the money is in isolation not cooperation. People playing together will have fun. People talking and having fun leaves less room for a shop to be fun. People playing alone have nothing to do but play for the competition, showing off what they've bought, or just quiting the game. Everything that's been done to halo has made it less social. Forge was released reluctantly and probably fought for by specific people in the development. The community has been shafted and are only being drip fed stuff to milk the most out of a project that has already been abandoned.
Yep for everyone asking for voting/vetoing and pre and post-game lobbies, the harassment issue was a never-ending problem and Halo in the late 2000s and early 2010s was a big problem and is why it is never going to be brought back now (unless its something like Halo Online, which will be a niche game now to play) unless people can start acting nice online. People cannot help themselves being toxic online unfortunately and Microsoft isn't going to tolerate it.

343 took that advice by destroying halo core gameplay time after time while removing core social elements of halo.
Im really curious about that study that was made. What makes a toxic to women?
They just need to moderate, lack of moderation shouldnt be an issue for such a big company
Simple, MAKE IT AN OPTION! Turn it off if you don't want to bother with people & on when you're feeling social. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!
It's just because of the T rating. It neutered Halo's social features. Really disappointing, they could've just come up with a robust and accessible reporting system to report people being toxic.
Remy, 343 & Microsoft DONT GIVE 2 SHITS about halo. They just want money... Halo's dead and not just dead. They killed it
It wouldn't be that hard to create a voting system where people who get muted a lot or reported can only talk pre and post game or can only communicate with the enemy team during the 3 second post death comms. (which are the best, never get rid of that)
That would require a brain, effort, and a mentality that does allow for insipid cretins or folks who do take it too far to be allowed a degree of leniency. Which, and I don't know where've you been since 2014; society is now on an all or nothing scheme of punishing folks.
The entire world went victim mentality, and it leeched into gaming. They will never go back. It's just one of those things that will be nostalgic and that's that.
Shit talk is always gonna be apart of video games, why try to censor the entire set up when the option to mute individual players is an option 🤷🏼♂️
ollbetsy agrees as usual! i finally made it on one of your videos lol. gg on isolation.
I definitely agree with this sentiment and it makes me think of BF3. They had open VOIP where you could choose to talk to your entire team, squad, or mute all, and I too met several people I still game with using open VOIP.
I remember when BF4 released and they limited it to squad only. I was very disappointed by this decision as open VOIP allowed for cross squad participation, obviously when in a good server.
If people are being a problem verbally and you don't have it in you to swing back or hold the line, mute them, simple as that.
Stay safe and stay strong out there brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ loves you.
