Well, they both have their own techniques to make the race as close as possible.
Modern has the Sonic Boost, Movie has the portal rings.
In a way, that's sorta balanced.

No, it's not fair. You have to use your own body to win. Teen Sonic used something that is not part of him. If in real life you could ride a bike in a race that isn't fair for the runner becuse it's not an equel race. If you're slower than someone else you need to accept that and not make it unfair.

Movie Sonic had trouble outrunning eggman while Game Sonic when he was weakened was outrunning a black hole and ran into a special stage which is a different dimension

In Sonic Forces, he used enough speed to out run the pull of a black hole, which was actively devouring light and reality. Modern Sonic ran faster than light. 😂😂😂 It’s not even a contest.
Movie sonic also runs faster than light. You can see this when he made the empty wave. That is only possible when energy particle reach light speed

This is cinematic and gripping. I would love for speeding sections in future Sonic games- particularly ones which insist on pushing the "boost" formula- to have blur and camera distance much like you share here.

I think modern sonic wins. But that’s because Teenager Sonic didn’t use his electric charge power. Remember in the movie, Sonic when he was feeling sadness or get full of courage, he charge himself with a lot of electricity making him a lot more faster (like an electromagnetic pulse)

Even though Teen Sonic (or movie Sonic for me) can see everything slow when he's using his speed, Modern Sonic never use his true speed in the game's, at least not in the playtrough. He also has the Light speed attack, and that's when he uses his true speed, and he can get through further beyond than sound, something what Teen sonic never show up

I really don't feel like writing an essay about how "archie sonic" would feed his dust to the flash with his clone shadow he left behind by his speed.

Did anyone notice that they tied? If ya go to the slowest movement on the video you will see they tied.
All in all I think if we consider what movie sonic can do is stop time. He can move really fast while time is stopped hints the bar scene. Now modern sonic has more experience and has grown far more with speed and has shown many feats such as running as fast as he can from a hyper go on energy black hole for half a minute. Not to mention modern has way more fighting experience without any rings.
Continuing with movie sonic. Others may say "his electrical form makes him faster and stronger." My answer to that is it only makes him stronger not faster. In the Robotnic scene it mentions that one spike is "unlimited power" but that that is just power, not speed. In the ending scene it shows how much easier it was for sonic to beat down the machine. Now think in that form he had to do multiple and I mean multiple hits before actually destroying it.
My final piece to this is that modern sonic has been able to destroy eggman's machines "without" transformation. Now again others may say "yeah but even modern sonic took awhile to destroy eggman's machines." So I'll answer this simply. Modern was going easy on eggman unless he had to get serious by transforming.
All in all I think the true winner to this match in any way or form is Modern sonic.

Modern Sonic has boost speed energy
Did a playback of the finish line. Normally Film version won, but that's due to use of rings. Besides, doesn't he leave electric sparks behind? For one, Modern Sonic won legally. I think there should be a rematch, but with no tricks. All they would be allowed to do is roll, which is most useful down slopes to gain momentum

what do you use to animate this? I use SFM, but this looks kinda cool since you can use the game maps
For animation I use CInema 4D . But do not think that I use maps from games so easily, I manually adapt each of them for Cinema 4D and this usually takes several weeks.

I know who will this for sure, it's modern Sonic, because, he got his modern abilities (like Sonic Boost, Double Boost, Hooming attack) and he got as well the abilities of his past (like spin dash, spin charge) and he can as well travel trough Giant rings (you know like in normal sonic games) and as well he can uses items such as capsules of Speed Shoes, Fire Shield (soo he can do fire ball like in classic games) and bubble shield and eletric shield and Regular shield capsules (proof is in Sonic Lost World)

So the thing about speed is that in the perspective of the one going fast, (Teen Sonic in this case), everything appears to move slower or even frozen because of how fast he's going. He's not freezing time, he's just going so fast that it looks that way. On the other hand, Modern Sonic is also capable of doing this no problem as well as Archie Sonic. It's basically an easy feat for any version of Sonic to pull off.

We never go that fast in the videogames though, he's usually about as fast as if the fastest car in the world went about 3 times faster. He's quick on his feet, that's about it. Movie Sonic however, is also quick in every other way (speed thinking, speed reading, speed task managing, speed everything, really).
Clearly, Sonic won.
