People forget that the best Zizou played for Juve, not Madrid. He joined Madrid at 29 going on 30, which was old back then.
zizou was much better in Madrid. In Juventus he was inconsistent compared to del Piero, davids and Trezeguet and also Nedved.

Even though he didn't win the CL with Juve, he played in 2 UCL finals 96/97, 97/98 and only played 1 UCL final with Real Madrid... So yes Zidane at Juve was raw potential but at Real he was like the finished product... Played well in both teams but I have to say he played better with Juve

Zidane was such an amazing player, always a Juve legend! It's really a shame that they lost the 97 and 98 finals going on that back-to-back-to-back run to the finals...truly unprecedented and would have set Juve to the next level. People would have talked about that Juve as people talk about the Sacchi's Milan, Guardiola's Barca or zizou's Real. This era was one of our greatest squads ever assembled.

I remember watching him back in the day and being amazed at how rarely he gave the ball away or played a bad pass etc. He did the simple things brilliantly and then pulled out two or three moments of magic during a game that made you sit back and realise you were watching a genius at work.
