- In this episode, we look at two instances of violence - one in which the attacker was Dalit, the other in which the victims were Dalit. In both instances, the violence was justified "in the name of protecting Hindu religion". To make sense of this dichotomy, we travel to the small towns in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan where these incidents happened and see the various paths the Dalit community is taking with respect to their religion.

They were just Adivasi tribals and were called untouchables, then outcasts, lower casts, Harijans and then about 70 years ago they were named as Dalits.
