Sad but true, the same cannot be said for my old home. In the western world, and especially here in Europe, many people are losing part of their joy in life. Higher, faster, further, and you don't even allow the mouse a little piece of cheese. Who drives a bigger and newer car? How often has the neighbor been on vacation this year? And are people really happier and more satisfied as a result? No, not really. I know both sides, having a lot, enough to live on and then losing it all again.
I can't do this anymore, I don't want to do this anymore and instead of material things, bad feelings, worries and fears, I listen to my heart. My inner compass points in one direction, and that is Latin America. I still have a lot of work to do to improve my Spanish. And at the same time, I have the most wonderful woman by my side and with her an equally lovely family. Please stay as you are and if we ever run into each other in Colombia, you are cordially invited to have a cold drink.

It is ironic how easy western european men relocate in the third world. Meanwhile, Germany places tough restrictions on migrating within the country.
Thank you for making this video. I am seriously considering relocating to Latin America within a year. I would like to see more content showing the day-to-day life of Colombians of all economic strata, not just tourists and expats living a luxurious lifestyle few locals can afford.

Im latin and easily go to the clubs and bars that I never see Foreigners at (Fonda La Chismosa - in area called San Diego on Mariachi Night) is a perfect example...but I have Never been comfortable publically recording myself like a youtuber. Respect!

Nice video. I grew up in a neighborhood considered very low income by the standards here, in the USA, but we don’t anything like Colombia’s estrata 0.
I found my boyfriend in this neighborhood. He is the most handsome and well mannered man I have ever met and he is so grateful for the new life I can offer him and his family.
He is so hardworking and kind… I LOVE HIM and Colombia
Dont beleive colombians blindly, almost 90% colombians are liars and cheaters. iam telling about my experience. I also loved one medellin girl blindly on social network, later i knew that she has a boyfriend and also a daughter already but before that already I lost around 2000 dollars by giving to her before knowing her cheating works. They act like good persons and well mannered but in reality they are trained cheaters and liars And YOU FROM WHICH COUNTRY ?
That's what I want to see. The people of Medellin embracing English (just not some of the western customs) so that they have more opportunities. You can see that young girl has ambition and most importantly SHE HAS VISION and FORSIGHT!!

Hi Joel - Thanks for sharing, I'm always interested in donation opportunities, but I need to know more about this org. Specifically, when solo old men from America, Europe etc. show up to volunteer to spend time with children there, does this org conduct thorough background checks with law enforcement from their home country?
Noticed the people escorting front and behind while filming and the looks some people gave the camera that was not a safe area to go alone.
That's a correct assumption. Walking around there alone is not recommended.

I spent the last 15 months in Medellin my visa expired and i left two daya ago. Watching this video gives me withdrawals i only been gone two days and missing Medellin already. I will be back once the new year comes so i will het another six months visa. Life in the USA is misrable especially after experiencing live in Colombia. I gotta figure out how i can live there forever. AK can I ask you what visa did you obtain and howblong did your visa last. How complicated was applying for your visa. Next time im in Colombia i probably need to find a wife ao i can stay forever
I had a student visa but now I'm applying for the marriage visa.
@@AKJoel congratulations on getting married I think that's the easiest way to obtain citizenship in Colombia and probably will be the best route for me. Unfortunately I didn't have any luck meeting a decent women the last year I've been in Colombia. I think I gotta raise the age of the women I'm seeking. The younger girls are all money grabbing fools.

There are many good things about Medellin. However, the abuse against the foreigners is too high, rents for people who come to visit the city are exploited by apartment owners and other premises, and at the same time is creating a financial conflict to the Colombian citizen

The amazing little girl looks so much like my daughter. I’m separated and my daughter and her mom who’s Colombian live in Colombia for the past 3 years. I am in Europe and try to find a way to move my earnings from online sources and be able to live in the countries where I have family members, Colombia being one. Would love to help this girl and her family whenever I’ll be back in Colombia and maybe she can meet my daughter and build a beautiful friendship. @@AKJoel I can see it. Plus English. I know, knowing Spanish is essential in Colombia 🇨🇴, but one has to start somewhere. Having a woman friend who is cute, smark, brave (still when going to that area) and speaks English looks like a gift from God. I visited Colombia twice in the past, but not luck. Oh well, there is always next time. I am definitely will be returning to Medellin. I have visited so many places in Colombia with my Colombian friends already, but still so many more to see and learn its histoty and culture. Viva Gran Colombia!
