Hello My CZcams Woodworkers! this week I built two end tables with bread board ends and Pocket Hole Joinery. Made from ash that I got from a local bush.
Nice design and build. I suggest you make some push sticks for passing short and narrow boards like the legs over the jointer knives....kickbacks do happen.
Real nice looking tables. You gave me some ideas for doing a coffee table. I'll probably be lazy and make the top out of some furniture grade ply. Just got the Kreg jig-it's awesome.
Just a suggestion on the base base section of the table. It might actually expand and push the legs apart. The only true way of knowing this will happen is to just keep an eye on it and experiment yourself. People will tell you all sorts of things but until you test it yourself it is hard to say.
real men carry their planer and bash open knuckles and elbows while throwing out their backs...but Im not jealous of the clever little slide out Wes. LOL
Not bad, Wes! But you didn't show us the finishing!! Did you harvest the ash, or buy from a local sawyer? That little slide-out shelf for the planer is a slick little gizmo.
Thanks for watching. I built these for my parents and my dad is going to finish them. Thats why i didnt show it finished. I will post a picture of them on my facebook page when they have been finished.
+Wes Hamstra (Wes Hamstra Woodworking) That's the place... I did a "lumber run" video back in may with some pretty poor cellphone video footage of that place.
I'd like to hear how they're still holding up. It doesn't matter if the side biscuits are floating if you glue the entire breadboard side to the top, and connected with pocket holes from every side. What kind of wood is it?
You may want to warn people you literally need a high school wood shop in your basement or garage to make these. Just saying, most people like myself are not carpenters if we are watching your videos. The tables look great though.
John Wick how about you watch my more recent videos. I have done that already. Also. There is nothing wrong with using the kreg jig. Its just another form of joinery like mortise and tenon
I'm glad still people out there building things. Instead of running to Wal-Mart to buy their cheap shit.
Nice looking tables. Good job and thank you for sharing.
Holy Hell!! I want your work bench. That is the coolest bench idea ever.
LOVE the placement of the thickness planer. I'm going to do that too now!
Great job. Those turned lut awesome!
Great work, Wes!
These came out great. Nice job!
Very nice work. Love the interruption by the little cutie pie puppy !
They look awesome. I'm sure Mom will be impressed.
Thanks dad

Nice job there Wes.
Thanks frank!
Now I have to think of a way to get in Mom's good book.
(Nice Tables)
Thanks bro
Nice job.
Gorgeous
nice tables
Very Nice!
Very nice. I would suggest using a driver with a clutch to drive pocket holes instead of an impact driver.
Nice design and build. I suggest you make some push sticks for passing short and narrow boards like the legs over the jointer knives....kickbacks do happen.
Cool Dog. 🐶
Real nice looking tables. You gave me some ideas for doing a coffee table. I'll probably be lazy and make the top out of some furniture grade ply. Just got the Kreg jig-it's awesome.
Thats great man! The kreg jig is awesome. Im actually trying to use less of it now and use mortise and tenon
I love the title but you used every wood tool on the planet to make them but I love your set up... 🤙
buen trabajo.🖒🖒

MrSeaneboy. 🤔
Good job! Curious, what do you do for wood movement for the lower shelf?
Very nice tables.
U have plans- cut list ?
If so , would like them. Thanks b
Lovely build, might take some of your ideas for a future build myself if you don't mind?…
Are you using the grizzly biscuit jointer , if you are do you you like it?
Very nice. Any chance you have the plans?
It's Very Nice! Good Job! Happy New Year by the way!
Thank you for watching and subscribing! Happy new year!
You're very welcome! And I should say thank You to You, as I see you subscribed to my channel a while back. Thanks!
Get a Grr-rip block for your hands on the jointer!!!
I am comfortable using my tools. I only use grip blocks or push sticks when I feel it's unsafe
Wes, the tables look great, Did you follow or have any plans for the tables? These are just what I am looking for.
Thanks,
Thanks for watching. I had a rough sketch on a piece of paper of what it was supposed to look like
Remember the wood expands across its width with weather changes.
Steve Adams yep it does. These tables are holding up well.
Not bad, Wes! But you didn't show us the finishing!!
Did you harvest the ash, or buy from a local sawyer?
That little slide-out shelf for the planer is a slick little gizmo.

+Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) I bought the ash from a guy north of london. Barn full of the stuff.
+Wes Hamstra (Wes Hamstra Woodworking) Hmm, if it's the guy up Hwy 23 with the two big dogs then I've been there! :-)
+Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) he was on hwy 23. but I only saw one big dog. he had a elevator - fork lift thing in the barn.
+Wes Hamstra (Wes Hamstra Woodworking) That's the place... I did a "lumber run" video back in may with some pretty poor cellphone video footage of that place.
What is the best exercise for flabby inner thighs?
are there plans for this design? I love it and want to build it
No plans, i build this from a picture
well that's alright i'll do my best to design it
I do know it was 22" Tall 21"wide and 26" deep
I'd like to hear how they're still holding up. It doesn't matter if the side biscuits are floating if you glue the entire breadboard side to the top, and connected with pocket holes from every side. What kind of wood is it?
Doug Butler I must be lucky because they are holding up just fine
Is that ash you are using?
Ronald Jonson yes it is
Thanks!

You're correct, however, I'm thinking I can do this without the planner, the drill press and the band saw, at least I'm gonna try.
Do some real woodworking and throw away the Kreg jig, and do some woodworking joints like mortise and tenon
John Wick how about you watch my more recent videos. I have done that already. Also. There is nothing wrong with using the kreg jig. Its just another form of joinery like mortise and tenon
How about you show us what you made. Ohhh that's right. You didn't make shit.
Hey John Wick,
Shut up nobody likes you. He did a great job.
