    What a world. Just because they were pleasuring each other at 8 or 9 may be more of an indicator of sexual abuse. Children act out what they experience. I truly believe we have an epidemic of sexual abuse in childrens formative years that dramatically effects a lot of our population. Sexual orientation is something that should be explored at least post puberty. Any child that shows an interest in sexuality has most likely been exposed to something by an unhealthy adult.

    • @Parrotgirl-Tattoo
      @Parrotgirl-Tattoo Před rokem +35

    • @TEM14411
      @TEM14411 Před rokem +18

      @@Parrotgirl-Tattoo yes. The subconscious and conscious mind experiences deep and lasting programming from ages 1 to 7. As an adult we carry underlying beliefs, interests and preferences that can be deeply linked to childhood experiences. Particularly, censory experiences (such as viewing pornography). Much like this individual masterbating to memories of copulation with cousins in childhood. It is over simplified for us to believe one is born gay or had positive experiences pleasuring a family member under a sleeping bag at age 7. Historically speaking, we have repressed sexuality in our country in a way that has not benefited expression. We have also repressed the truth of childhood trauma and early exposure to sexual acts and how that interferes with healthy development.

      Kids are exposed to it so early now. It's permeated culture and since we're a more open society we don't interfere with them once they've discovered it. On the one hand you could shut it down, but you'd also be imposing upon something that people will naturally discover anyways, so the question is how long should children be sheltered from this?

Meth/heroin is a huge problem in this area. It is on a lake and there is very little to do there except during the summertime, hence why many begin experimenting with drugs. Religion/Christianity also has a huge reign in the community. In Iuka, you either for to church or smoke dope (or both). I wish better for this community. I live in Dothan, AL. It’s changed a lot. Not so much an old town now.
    You know my dad grew up in Jacksonville, FL right off Blanding Blvd. You were on the west side of town. It’s seedy over there. One thing that’s a little confusing is you say you were in a basement. There are very few basements there due to the water level (I basements are rare). It absolutely had to be moldy down there.
    Much of your life has been heartbreaking. God bless you.

      I want to agree with you about not needing church, but as someone who's had a mental break I can say that there's a part of our brain / psychology that when the shit hits the fan we reach out for a power bigger than us for help. And that safety mechanism is important (at least it was to me), to have that life line available when in need. Once you've reached out for it in desperation it's hard not to respect it.
