Only advice I can give is to use gunslinger for this fight. I do it in the video, but for some reason, every time you super punch him as gunslinger the rat goes for a punch. You can chain them together and abuse the glitch for an easy win. Doesn't seem to work with any other character in my testing.
Well i mean The Gunslinger SHOOT the shit out of him... in a punch fight but the rat brought a bat and a brass knuckles to a punch fight So, the gunslinger was smarter. That's fair for me
I'm not sure the exact reasoning behind the glitch, but after hitting the rat with a star punch for some reason he keeps doing the same move after every hit, allowing you to loop it as seen here. basically you end the fight earlier and easier than normally. This glitch only seems to work with gunslinger.
Enter the Gungeon is whats shown in this video. The only sequel they made was Exit the Gungeon which is switched to a platformer perspective. Unless you want to count the arcade cabinet they made there is only two games.

The rat's character will blink a yellow color and have an audio "ding" queue. It always you to parry his incoming attack.
